I got in a car accident and one of the straps popped out. It was always snug and never wiggled before the accident. Please investigate this product for a recall. Luckly one strap still held on. Witnesses said she wasn't buckled properly but I always check to see if the base wiggles. (related vehicle information: model year=2016, make=Honda, model=accord).

Door lock remote fails to open locks. If I'm inside the car, sometimes the driver's door lock will be jammed down, and key will not open from outside. Nothing worked, I had to crawl over the console and exit by the passenger door. Definitely a safety issue, since it could happen in an emergency.

Last year, I was driving my 2003 Honda Accord, and I locked my car as I was riding. Upon reaching my home I tried to unlock my car and it would not unlock manually, by pushing the bottom, or with the keyless entry. When I tried to use the interior button to unlock the car, it locked all of the doors and the driver door would not unlock manually, however, I was finally able to get a passenger door unlocked manually. It seemed like I was in a horror movie because the passenger doors would appear to unlock, but they would instantly relock. This happened more than a few times and I was terrified to drive in fear of a accident as well as the fact that I had to leave my car unlocked when I went out in public. Today, the issue started again. I tried to hold the keyless entry down so that the windows would roll down and I could gain access that way, but it was to no avail. I tried using the key, but that did not work. I just so happen that while trying to unlock it with the key I turn it (the key) in the opposite direction and held it and the windows rolled down which allowed me to unlock a passenger door manually and climb in to my car. I still can not unlock the driver side door regardless of method.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. While the vehicle was parked the contact noticed the chrome around the rear passengers side door handle was broken. A passenger was in the rear of the vehicle and sustained a deep cut to her right hand and was taken to the hospital where x-rays were taken and the doctor placed stitches in the child's wound. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
The contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the front driver side interior door latch failed to open. The contact exited the vehicle from the front passenger side door. The dealer was notified and they informed him that the manufacturer was not responsible for the repair expense. An appointment was scheduled with an independent mechanic for the defective door latch repair where he was awaiting the arrival of the necessary parts to complete the repair. The failure mileage was 180,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the doors would lock and unlock independently. The contact mentioned that there were some occasions that he was unable to exit the vehicle because the doors failed to unlock. The vehicle was taken to the dealer multiple times, who decided to replaced the door actuator as a temporary remedy. The remedy failed to repair the problem. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who referred him to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 125,000.
The inside door handle of my Honda Accord coupe 2005 stopped working all of a sudden. A passenger riding with me discovered that they could not exit the car because the inside door handle failed to open the door. This was a one time occurrence and the door handle never worked again after that point. The problem was the cable from the interior door handle to the exterior door handle has a defective plastic insert where it attaches to the door panel. Failure of this piece results in the passengers of the vehicle not being able to open the door from the inside. This creates a potential safety hazard in the event of an accident or roll-over. The cable holding the plastic insert had to be ordered and replaced after taking off the door panel.
Both rear doors on my 2008 Honda Accord have defective doo handles on the inside. I can only open the doors from the outside. The first one quit working around mid August 2010, and the other about three weeks after that. I am concerned that if there were a fire after an accident that someone in the bsack seat would not be able to exit the vehicle.
The issue is I can remove the ignition key without the shift lever being in "park" on my 2000 Honda Accord, VIN [xxx]. There is a current recall, but the dealer states it does not apply to my vehicle. It should be added to the recall. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I have a 2004 Honda Accord coupe. 3 weeks ago my passengers side door actuator went out on it. This prevents me from locking my car any way other than manually pushing the stick lock. It will not lock by pressing the key fob or pushing the lock button inside the car. I had the passenger's side replaced. Today (7/3/2010) my driver's side door actuator went out. After searching online, I see this is a very common problem with the 2003-2007 model Honda Accords. In order to replace one door actuator with the dealership it is over 200. 00. I cannot speak for the other owners of Hondas who have been having this problem, I feel it's so frequent, that Honda should be assisting their customers with this issue.

2007 Honda Accord trunk deck. When you open the trunk deck in the open position it will not stay in place and it will come down and hit you in the head. Dealer has stated that there is nothing they can do. This has hit my family multiple times. I have contacted Honda America about this problem and they spoke to the dealer but led to a dead end. Someone can get severely hurt. New cars in the showroom do not have this problem.

Door locks are not working. They are broken. Front door locks for my Honda Accord have to be unlocked manually. The driver side with key. The passenger side by hand. The car has only 60,908 miles. I don't understand why the locks are going bad. I feel this is a safety issue. You cannot get into your car very quickly if you need to. To have them fixed will be very expense. I was told only the drivers side for the part would be over $225. 00, not including labor. Have other owners had this problem? I think the locks are defective and Honda should pay to have them replaced. The drivers lock went out in March and now the other went out today. When will the other locks go out?.
Honda Accord accelerator cable failure. I picked up my son from school. I started to drive away from the school and the accelerator pedal stopped responding. I steered the car back to the curb using the remaining momentum, stopping near the curb at an angle. I opened the engine hood to locate any loose cables going from the engine to the accelerator pedal. When I touched the accelerator cable, the metal cable was loose and fell out of the housing, revealing a broken frayed cable. I called a tow truck to deliver the car to a Honda dealer for repair.

I have a 2008 Honda Accord ex-l I picked up new in the fall of 2007. To date I have just over 30,000 miles. Today, (4/12/10) I took my car to my local Honda dealership for an oil change. I was told that my rear brakes were at 5% and repair cost would be $330. 00!!! I mentioned I paid an additional $2,200. 00 for an "extended warranty "on top of the $28,000. 00 sticker price back in 2007. Today I asked the Honda advisor what does my $2,200. 00 "extended warranty" cover? he said nothing mechanical. By this point I did not want to argue, but rather I paid the $38. 13 for my oil change and left. Also with my previous oil change maybe 3 months ago with about 29,000 miles I was also told my rear brakes were somewhere around 15% and I think the Honda dealership quoted me around $300. 00. I am definitely a named party in the gibbs lawsuit as of 12/17/09. I have not paid to fix my rear brakes yet. Other problems I am having is my navigation freezes up, I have this rattling sound in my front drivers door, my front passenger door sounds like it is not closed all the way because I hear road noise, and twice now my wipers have continued to stay on even though I turned them off or the wipers will be "delayed" even though the wipers are off, my glove box is misaligned on the right hand side and at times when I am pulling into the garage with my foot off of the gas pedal, the car will accelerate forward a little. I am finished with this car!!!! my 2008 Accord is my 3rd Accord and by far the most obnoxious lemon I have ever owned. My 1986 and 2000 Accords were more "Honda" than my 2008 Accord. I am thoroughly disgusted with Honda's caring integrity.
Rear door on drivers side will not open from either inside or outside the vehicle.
Could not lock drivers door with remote key lock, other doors locked. Could only unlock or lock drivers door with non remote key. Replaced actuator and cable.
2003 Honda Accord - left rear door lock actuator problem - (while standing outside the car) the door would stay in the locked position. It would not open using the key or by putting the key in the door. The key would go in but I wasn't able to turn the locks either direction. I finally kept pressing the button on the key & eventually 3 of the doors unlocked. Another day, I pressed the key to unlock & the lock would go up & down immediately. It would unlock & lock again so quickly I didn't have time to open the door. I finally got in the car with the help of my daughter. She pressed the unlock button on the key & I grabbed the door quickly to open - that's how we got in the car that day. Several times I was unable to get my passengers in & out of the car because the door would not open. It was truly frightening driving the car at that time for fear of an emergency that we/passengers wouldn't be able to get out of the car. Another time my passenger was in the back passengers side seat and she couldn't get out of the car at all. I leaned over to try to unlock that door (that time that was the only door that wouldn't open). I tried to unlock the door with my hands & the door wouldn't unlock at all! my passenger had to go out the other door. Thank god I had another door that was working. I am a mom. I also carpool the neighborhood children. Not only was this door with the problem endangering myself. It was endangering my passengers too. I took it to the Honda dealership and they replaced the left rear door lock actuator. $281. 24 later the door appears to be fixed at this time. I should not have had to pay $281. 24 of my money for such a safety hazard. I'm bringing this to your attention so hopefully I would be preventing a future tragedy.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while trying to unlock the vehicle, the key fob failed and would not open any of the doors on the vehicle. Also, the contact experienced failures with the rear brakes. When applying the brakes, the contact would hear an abnormal squealing noise. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer and the dealer informed the contact that the key fob had a faulty part and the rear brakes were exhibiting the abnormal noise due to normal wear and tear. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.
I sliced the tip of my finger off when I tried to open the door of my 2002 Honda Accord. The chrome/plastic handles are worn and broken away at the seams creating a razor-like hazard.
1. Passenger drive door while locked could be opened manually by hand. Dealer replaced lock actuator and lock.
I could not open the unlocked driver's door from the inside using the internal door handle. Corrective action was replacement of the inner handle cable (part # 72171-sda-a01) which had severed. Such a failure could be life threatening in an accident, water submerged or fire.
I bought my car new from the dealer. It is a four door, within a month of owning the car the cable to open the door from the inside broke on the rear left door. Today the cable broke on the driver side door so it is impossible to open the door from the inside of the car. After looking at the cable it doesn't look strong enough to last for any length of time and being unable to get out in an emergency could be very dangerous. The car has also pulled to the right since the day I bought it but after taking to the dealer more then 4 times with no results I just learned to live with it.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the rear brakes had to be replaced four times within two years. The second time the brakes were replaced, the contact was advised by the dealer that the previous brake pads were inferior. The contact then spoke with the manufacturer and was told that the cable to the emergency brake would need to be released slightly, but there was no way to make the correction. The contact also stated that the door latches were also replaced several times. The failure mileage was 18,822 and the current mileage was 48,569.
The contact owns a 2003 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the door latches were inoperative. As a consequence, he could not use the key fob to lock or unlock the doors. The doors had to be locked/unlocked manually. The dealer stated that the actuator and the internal fuse box failed and were replaced. A complaint was filed with the manufacturer. The failure and current mileages were 48,000.
Power door locks have been making a loud noise when locked for the past year. Two weeks ago the rear hatch back lock opens and then closes on its own making it impossible to open the hatch. Even if the button is held up manually the hatch will not open. All other four doors work properly.
