The contact owns a 2004 Honda Accord. She took vehicle to the dealership for a routine service check in August 2005. The service dealer did not tighten the lug s:nuts tight enough. On 10-09-05 she was driving home at 25 mph and the right front wheel popped off. Contacts vehicle was involved a minor accident, and it tore up the front end of the car. The dealership told her she should get the insurance company involved. The contact has not yet spoken to insurance company. She planned to talk to her attorney. The contact wanted to let someone know because this could have been a worse situation then it turned out to be. The towing company told her the lug s:nuts were not properly tightened.

1997 Honda Accord left front tire came off. The vehicle sustained damage to it's left front quarter panel. The lug nuts had sheared off. About a month prior to this accident the consumer had one tire replaced and the wheels rotated (ohio traffic crash report).

2000 Honda Accord. Lugs:nuts broke off. Had not contacted the dealership. The consumer contacted a local garage and paid to have lugs:nuts put back on. Also, contactedthe manufacturer, and was told they had no recalls, and consumer requested the number for NHTSA to file a complaint. Purchase vehicle in 2000. The consumer tried to rotate the tires and the lugs:nuts broke off. This was a safety issue.
