Bought 2006 Accord sedan in Aug 2006. Upon taking car home noticed 'orange peel' like distortion in windshield. Took back to dealer. They first claimed there was no problem, finally after much arguing they admitted it was there and replaced it. New windshield is worse. It has wavy pattern in the glass making it difficult to see out of. Went back to dealer, they saw it, they then called in factory rep. He says "they all have it" and refused to take action. Factory line is that all Honda's since 1990 have this problem. Told him that's bull since this is the 3rd Honda I've bought since 1990 and none of the others have this problem. Neither does any other brand (Toyota, Volvo) cars that I own have it.
: the contact stated while driving 30 mph on normal road conditions, there was a loud popping sound from the front left side of the windshield. The sound also occurred when driving on rough roads. The sales/service dealer was notified and the vehicle was inspected. When the contact drove the vehicle again, the problem continued, so the vehicle was returned to the sales/service dealer. The sales/service dealer refused to provide a refund, replace the vehicle or to replace the seal to the windshield. The manufacturer was notified. The consumer found a service bulletin regarding improperly sealed windshields (molding problems) that cause popping/rattling noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but they claimed they could not hear the noise. The fuse box under the hood near the dashboard and in the interior of the car were tightened because they were loose. This affected the daytime running lights. The left front strut and the firewall were too close and were rubbing together. The gaskets were shrinking around the windshield which were causing the windshield vibrating problems. The windshield sprayer was clogged. The exhaust heat shields were loose. The front door window channels were lubricated and finally replaced because of the excessive rattling noise. The door jambs were irregular which added to the window rattling problem. Updated 01/10/08 .

2006 Honda Accord windshield is wavy and difficult to see out of. There was also a tire blow out. The consumer contacted the dealer and manufacturer. They both claimed the wavy windshield was due to the aerodynamics.
: the contact stated after the vehicle was parked in a parking lot for 6 hours, the back windshield shattered outwards. The contact inspected the vehicle to ensure that it was not vandalized. The glass was cracked into tiny pieces. There was nothing to indicate a foreign object as the cause of the incident. As soon as the vehicle was driven, the glass fell into the cabin of the vehicle on to the back seat.

I bought my Honda Accord v6 in Dec. 2000 (2001 model). I driven for few thousand miles and had to bring in my car to the dealer to redo the windshield. About 23000-24000 miles brought back to the dealer for transmission leak. Probably 1 month later had to bring in for transmission leak against. And April 20, 2006 (115000 miles), the transmission finally broke. I had to replace with the remanufactured one that cost me $ 2300. I feel that I bought this car as a lemon.

I have contacted fox Honda several times regarding the consistant problems with these vehicles and have recieved no satisfaction--I wonder why I am making car payments -on vehicles that have had and contine to have problems--Honda told me if you do not loke the answers we are giving you trade the vehicles --I do not feel this is a satisfactory answer after all the vehicle is the problem of the manufacturer.

There is a defect in the windshield that makes objects appear distorted. The dealership had ordered 4 windshields from the factory, all had the same distortion. The manufacturer indicated no further action could be taken. The consumer will have to drive with the defective windshield.
A small stone hit my windshield today and seemed to cause more damage than it should have. I've been driving for many years and have had many rocks hit the windshield. Since owning my new car, this is the second time a small stone has hit my window (different place), and the first one also seemed to cause more damage then it should have. The first time, I didn't have to replace the windshield, but I will have to this time. It just seems very unusual to me with my experience as a driver. The car is rather new, and I'm two for two with stones causing damage, where as with my previous cars, most times no damage happened under similar circumstances.
Driver side window and windshield are creaking when driving over left side bumps. Car taken to dealer who claims this is normal body flex which is incorrect. Research indicates that this is possibly due to a pillar clips or mohawk strip, however dealer inspected the a pillar and claims it is "tightened to spec".

While traveling in germany (us army) at safe cruising speeds averaging 100 to 115 mph (normal for germany), the black trim around the windshield came loose on the drivers side from bottom to top and was flapping in the wind. Noticed the passanger side trim was also coming loose. Depending upon speed, it was hitting drivers window. Incident was surprising and could have shocked the driver into an accident. It appears the trim was glued and notched so it could not come loose but left enough hanging over the painted areas to be caught by the wind. Appears to have failed. Going to see local dealer tomorrow for repair. Although my car was bought in MD, aafes sells the same Honda Accord here to the military. Had to use duct tape and reduce speed to make it home without further damage.
Consumer was traveling about 65mph on highway and hood latch popped open, and hood flew on windshield. Windshield was shattered. Consumer notified Honda dealership.
