7 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2016

Purchased 2007 Honda Civic new. Had issue with passenger side airbag light on 2008. Had dealer fix. Light came on 2009. Had dealer fix. Light came back on 2010. Now vehicle warranty period expired. Did not worry because passenger side air only and my son drive mostly by himself. Light have been on ever since. Brought car back to dealer for recall of airbags 7/2016. Had dealer look at side airbag light again. They tell me the I had a faulty floor harness and all my airbags will not work and cost of repair after discount to be $1600. I call american Honda on 8/1 to see if they will cover cost of repair. They did not. Base on my research, I feel this is very unfair. 2007 Honda Civic have this problem side airbag light issue code 32-10. I think my car faulty harness issue was there when I purchased the car new and it cause side airbag light to come on constantly and why the repair never lasted more than a few months. This is a safety issue same as with the seat belt and american Honda should cover cost of repair. American Honda has service notice concerning this problem with the Honda Civic only. My mileage is 85080 at this time.

10 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2015

I was driving my 2007 Honda Civic si coupe at approximately 10-20mph. Without warning my passenger side airbags deployed (2 airbags in total). The airbag deployment was loud, shocked me, and filled my car with smoke. I initially thought I was hit; however no cars were on my passenger side or able to hit me. I pulled over and there was no damage to my car (other than the inside where the airbags now deployed). My airbag light was not on prior to deployment. There was no sort of impact and absolutely no indication/reason the airbags should have deployed. If someone was sitting on my passenger side, they could have been seriously injured. If the driver airbags deployed, I could have been seriously injured and/or possibly caused an accident. This is a dangerous and very concerning malfunction that could have resulted in a lot worse.

14 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2012

Dashboard airbag light was on. Took it to be serviced and code 32-10 indicated the srs control module wiring on the passenger side was faulty and the wire harness had to be replaced. Mechanic called Honda, who stated they knew about the faulty wiring problem but that it was not covered under warranty. Upon researching the internet, the problem is very frequent and widespread. The wire harness cost over $1000 to be replaced and a whole day of labor.

15 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2012

My airbag light has been coming for the past few weeks, so I took it to a dealership to have it checked out. They hooked it up to the computer and they said my wiring harness was bad because of heat underneath my car. I asked if Honda has recalled my vehicle because of this issue and they said not at this time, but they have seen this issue quite often in my model vehicle. The cost of the repair is $600. 00. Why should I pay for a safety feature that's never been used before? they admitted that the harness is bad because of heat, so that tells me they have problems with this model vehicle.

17 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/24/2010

I have had the Honda Civic (2007) and the airbag light came on this car is 3yrs old and has less than 60,000 miles on it when taken to the dealer this the censor for the passenger seat and is a cost of $500 but after viewing online I see other complaints of the same problem and even recalls on previous years I feel that this is something that needs to be addressed before it causes injury.

18 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 11/16/2009

Air bag light came on. The dealer said it was the sensor and would cost 690 to fix. Seems to me Hondas have had trouble with airbags for the last several years. My car isn't even 3 years old. I strongly suggest that airbags be considered as real safety equipment on a vehicle since it's not optional. If seat belts are covered for the life of the car, then why not airbags? I don't believe this is a repair an owner should have to pay for. It is for safety after all.

19 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2007

Had a car accident 11/07 since that accident & repair the airbag light comes off and on,at all times of the day,no matter what I m doing in the car the light tends to pop on & off. I have taken it into the dealer that did the repairs but it is still a constant problem that hasn't been resolved. I have contact the better business bureau. But nothing was done about it other than a phone call.

20 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2007

I am the only owner of my 2005 Honda Civic lx. At 62,000 the air bag light came on and wouldn't turn off. Took it to the Honda dealership in battle creek, michigan. They determined it was the srs control unit that controls the air bags. I asked if it was covered under warranty and they said no. I said the safety features of this vehicle have a lifetime warranty. They told me it only covered the seatbelt buckles. I told them I thought this was a safety issue. They said no, and it would be $800 for the part alone, no labor, payable up front. I took it to my mechanic, who sent it in to be rebuilt. The unit was so far gone, that it couldn't even be rebuilt. I was without my airbags for approximately 3 months while all of this was going on. The place of business that rebuilt the control unit stated they have had many Honda Civic srs control units sent in. I think this a huge safety issue, and a recall should be done.
