1. Safety recall notice indicative of air bag problem. Took to dealer. He said that it has been fixed after an hour of stay for passenger inflator-and when noticed while driving back, the airbag light came again. Prior to this also, this problem was notified a few years ago, and I got it fixed. Dealer asking money for doing diagnostics and then fixing it. 2. Front and rear bumper clips fixed several times-4 times spending my own money but always a problem.
Nhtsa recall # 16v346 was issued on July 20, 2016 to replace faulty airbags that split on impact. This notice only replaced the passage side air bag. I assumed the drivers side would be replaced at a later date but as yet haven't received a notice. According to the Honda airbag inflator recall center, mailed notification to replace the drivers airbag will begin in April 2019, but I have not received a recall notice. I'm a senior citizen, 90 yrs old and still driving independently. An impact with a faulty airbag deployment would be devastating and possibly fatal. This is my formal claim to have my drivers airbag replaced as soon as possible. Thank you.
Takata inflators when I drive the Honda Civic si the light of the airbag is on almos all the time.
Takata recall: I took my car to poway Honda (poway, CA 92064). They charged me a diagnostic fee to fix this recall. I don't think it was fair that I have to pay a diagnostic fee, this should have been covered by the recall. My wife had taken the car to drop it off at the dealer. The dealer called me telling me that the srs light was on when my wife dropped it off (I later found out from my wife that they were lying about this - the srs light was not on when she dropped it off). They told me that since fixing the recall didn't cause the light to go off there was something else wrong and they needed to run additional diagnostics for which they charged me $120. 88. After running the diagnostics they said that it was something wrong with the passenger side airbag inflator. . . I told them that was what the recall was for, then he quickly changed his story a couple of times from it being the drivers side airbag and then the passenger again. It sounded a little suspicious, and my suspicions were confirmed after talking to my wife, who stated that the srs nor any other warning light was on.
Takata inflators -- airbag recall letter received July 2016 which said parts would be available in late summer/fall. Letter said "Honda will send you another letter when parts become available to repair your vehicle". It's mid December now and have not received a "parts available" letter from Honda. Very inconvenient to "avoid having passenger in front passenger seat". Just called local dealership and they say they have had parts for quite some time. They don't know why Honda never sent the second letter. In the meantime, we have been at risk and inconvenienced. This is a big mistake on their part and there should be follow up.
"takata recall" important safety recall sent from Honda, but no resolution. "propellant wafers in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the airbag is activated. Overly aggressive combustion creates excessive internal pressure when the inflator is activated, which may cause the inflator body to rupture. In the event of inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material possibly causing injury to the vehicle occupant. " Honda has sent this "important safety recall information," but has not had any resolution for the problem. Must drive car daily and driving in fear for possible mishap or injury.
Takata recall recall for passenger frontal airbag inflator was issued 5/23/16. Recall noted that remedy parts would become available late summer/fall of 2016. I have contacted Honda and was told parts still are not available. It has now been 8 months with no remedy available, which is extremely troublesome as Honda recommends that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed. I would like to sell the vehicle, but fear I will not be able to, or will have to accept a much lower sale price, due to the open recall.

Took car to my mechanic for srs light on . He put it on his computer and code 32-10 comes up for "open or increased resistance in right side air bag inflator". He said to take it to a Honda dealer for repair. Honda service man tells me wiring harness needs to be replaced a $1,200. 00 repair!! Honda has had many other people having the same problem. Honda even has a service bulletin out for this problem. Service bulletin 10-001 dated february12,2010 and revised on august13,2010. It says floor wire harness has a poor crimp in it. This is a safety issue! Honda needs to have a recall on this!!.
Srs light comes on intermittently and usually when driving over uneven terrain. I took it to the dealer and they reset the light for error code 33-10 (related to airbag inflator). I was told that I would need to replace the driver side curtain air bag if the light comes on again. This is a safety issue because when the light is on, the air bag system is disabled. In the event I get into an accident, I will not be protected. My car has never been to an accident and my airbags have never deployed and I bought the car new. I believe Honda uses a faulty airbag system and creates a serious safety issue. In fact, I think Honda has a service bulletin on this and a new part number to replace the old one.
The airbag light would come on if we hit a small pothole. It would stay on sometimes until the key was cycled and sometimes for more than a day. After this happening more and more often we finally took it to the dealer. It turns out that the driver side curtain air bag had a open circuit in the inflator part. Honda only covered have the repairs but the should have covered all of it. This is mandatory safety equipment, it should be covered under a lifetime warranty like the seat belts.
