1 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2007

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the fuel tank cover light illuminated on the instrument panel upon starting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that whenever the warning light illuminated, all she had to do was open and close the fuel tank cap. The failure recurred many times. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer on many occasions and the contact was advised to perform the same remedy herself. The contact stated that the failure progressed until the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again and they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The contact also stated that the vehicle intermittently leaked oil and coolant. The dealer was not able to diagnose the failure. In addition, the windshield was replaced once due to water leaks and the horn was replaced because it stopped functioning. The failure mileage was 1,009.
