The car keep on shutting off. Checked the fuel pump assembly on my driveway. I found out a burnt electrical connector to the fuel pump. It melted part of the fuel pump container. It's good the tank was not full. It could have blown the tank and the car. My mechanic would attest for this. I forgot to take a picture of the burnt part of the fuel pump assembly. I still have the burnt connector though.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start due to a defective fuel valve. The contact towed the vehicle to a dealer to have the fuel valve replaced. After the repair the contact smelled fuel inside the vehicle while driving. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer however, the dealer was unable to diagnose the issue with the fuel smell. Later, the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and the dealer stated that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact did not have the fuel pump replaced. The failure mileage was 74,323.
