Defogger Problems of Honda Civic

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the windshield defroster was inoperable due to the air conditioner being inoperable. The contact stated that the windshield and windows fogged up while driving. The vehicle was taken to penske Honda (4140 e 96th st, indianapolis, in 46240 317-399-9890, but was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.

3 months after buying vehicle noticed ac running warm. First told by Honda carland cartersville that nothing was wrong. Took it back to Honda carland roswell that freon was low and coolant but no leak. Have had continuous problems with ac running hot. Yesterday went to grocery store and when I walked backed to car noticed something leaking underneath. Tried to get it to car repair place but car immediately ran hot. Towed it and they called saying that the engine block has a crack. Noticing multiple complaints for 06-07 Honda Civic engine block cracks with initial problems showing in ac and coolant.

Repeated frost inside back and front windshields after automobile has been wet and temperature drops to freezing. Nothing has been done to correct failure. Been to dealership 4 times since 9/30/08. Dealer says it is due to cleaning supplies being left in trunk or difference in climate conditions. Dealer says nothing wrong with car.

The contact owns a 2002 Honda Civic. The contact stated that when large amounts of morning dew were on the windshield and rear window, it was hard to remove. The failure only occurred on cold mornings. The contact used the windshield wipers, but the dew remained. The defroster would take a long time to activate and the interior glass would clear up, but the outside glass would remain fogged. The contact called Honda care and took the vehicle to the dealer, but neither could correct the failure. The current and failure mileages were 42,000. Updated 01-14-08. I own a 2006 Honda Civic and mice kept coming into the vehicle via the air ducts and deficating all over my car. I took it back to the local Honda dealer and they said there wasn othing they could do. Hanta virus has killed people in our area and you catch that from coming into contact with mice. . I have heard of other Honda owners complain of this same problem.

Rodents are able to get into the ventilation system and plug up the defroster system. The faces are coming through the air vents when the air is turned on. This affects the capacity of the defroster system to function. Neither dealership nor the manufacturer are providing any solution to the problem.

The middle seatbelt in the back does not work. I have taken it to the dealership and they could not get it to come out. If it is against the law if you don't have your seatbelt on why isn't it mandatory that they fix this problem? also when you turn the rear defroster on and have the heater on the radio does not work.

While traveling approximately 25 to 30 mph and making a turn, engine stalled and caused steering column to lock up. This problem did not result in a crash or injuries. Dealership examined vehicle for engine stalling, but has failed to remedy the problem. While driving, consumer heard a metal to metal sound coming from right wheel well. Consumer was told computer was not set properly according to the VIN code, this was a service bulletin, dealer stated this could be why stalling was occurring, 4 fuses blew and now dealer replaced fuse box, dealer thinks this may be a reason why the vehicle stalled also, dealer also states that he does not know why the fuses blew to begin with, the blown fuse caused moonroof to be inoperable. Vents loose. Trunk release inoperable. Springs squeak and were replaced. Defective weld in the passenger side door rusted. Vehicle experiences rough idle. Driver side tweeter cracking. Driver side mud flap loose. Passenger kick panel uneven. Fuel gauge erratic.

No heat out of the floor section. Been to dealer twice. Both times told car is functioning normally. Second time I brought in a pyrometer to measure temps. Dash/defroster temp over 120f, floor temmp in the 40's. Dealer says it is similar on other Civic's. We tested another on lot and it had similar problem. Honda says since it is happening on other Civics then my car doesn't have a problem. But on a zero degree morning having to choose between being warm or having a clear windshield is a problem. The design of the ventilation system has two defroster options. All air to the defroster or 50/50 defroster/floor. Neither option warms up the passenger compartment with the 50/50 option sending air that is about 20 degrees above the outside air temp into the car.

The defroster/defogger system is not adequate.
