The driver side visor split and swung down while driving. This could have caused an accident. It still obstructs my view while driving because it won't stay up. This is apparently a common problem that can reoccur. Dealers want 100 to fix it.

The driver side visor on my 2009 Honda broke out of no where and now obscures my vision while driving because it wont go up anymore. Unable to get the dealer to fix it because its not under "warranty" anymore but clearly a safety issue.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. Six months later, the driver's side sun visor detached when placed in the down position. I was driving on the interstate on a very cold morning, I was in the right lane, no one was even around me and all of a sudden I hear a load pop, I looked over & my passengers side, 'vent window' had shattered into a million pieces. It did stay in tact but Honda dealer says something must have hit it. I personally think the vent blowing the warm air on the cold window effected it. This may be a little window but it's not cheap to fix. I am wondering if there have been any other complaints regarding this. . .
The driver side visor in malfunctioning.

My driver side sun visor would not close causing it to hang down. I got into my car smashed my head into the visor causing me pain, and tenderness on the top of my head.
Mirror/shade does not go up not down it is stuck unable to operate as a shade nor mirror.
I flipped the sun visor down and found I couldn't return it back up. The internal pivot clip broke the visor.
Sun visor on passenger side of car hangs down. It will not stay up in the unused position. This is the second Honda I have had with the same problem. Honda of America says it is out of warranty so they will not replace or repair the part. This is dangerous because the visor blocks visibility to the right of the vehicle. There are numerous examples of this same problem on the internet. Why is there no recall on this part? thank you.
The sun visor has split open and will not stay in place up against the head liner creating a visual obstruction. I have read about a class action suit related to visors that includes the 2009 Civic, but not the 2010 model.
Sun visor split apart causing the visor to loosely stay in the line of sight of the driver. The mechanism that holds the visor up does not hold the visor up anymore because of the split. Looks like the heat of the interior of the car mixed with the plastic pieces of the visor caused the defect. Honda needs to not just replace the parts, they need to redesign the visors using different materials that will hold up to the extreme heat that car interiors have to face. Currently they are replacing the visors with the same defectively designed visors. They need to be forced to fix the problem, instead of treat the symptom! type in Honda sun visor defect in any search engine and you will see that this is a very common problem!.
The sun visor (passenger side) on my 2007 Honda Civic si split open in the hot sun while sitting in the driveway. It is not repairable and will not stay in the upright position.
The driver side visor seem came apart. The inside of the visor can be seen. It will fall down into the line of sight of the driver.
The drivers side sun visor broke. It can be snapped back into place, but while it's broken, it decreases visibility and it takes two hands to snap it back up. This has happened repeatedly now.
The drivers side sun visor split open and hanging in front of my eyes. Very hard to see when this is right in your vision field. I hope that I will get this fixed at no charge at the dealership.
Sun visor split on the top and hangs down all of the time making it difficult to see traffic lights.
The driver side interior sun visor came apart and came down into the driver's line of sight for no apparent reason. Further inspection indicated that it had split at the seam near the left side with internal damage to the visor rendering it beyond repair.
The visor is cracked and will not stay up.
Sun visor in 2006 Honda Civic broke. It split causing it to not function correctly. It just hangs in front of driver's face blocking vision of the road, which is a safety hazard. The visor was never used much and never used forcefully to cause it to break in this way.
Driver side sun visor split at hinge along seam. Gravity now drops sun visor into driver's vision to block all sight of cars or traffic lights.
Driver side visor split open (at hinge) when attempting to lower visor to shield driver from sunlight while driving. The visor cannot no longer be returned to storage position.
The contact owns a 2009 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the driver side rear window detached from the door. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileages were 14,000.
Melting sun visor.
Both low beams failed at the same time. High beams unaffected. Inspected combination switch and connector, switch is failing and low beam wire and connector is discolored indicating overheating. It is obvious that NHTSA recall 04v086000 / Honda service bulletin 04-015 applies to this vehicle even though the Honda service bulletin and dealer claims it is out of range. . . Updated 02/06/bf .

The sun visor on my 2010 Civic is broken. The glue holding together the plastic molding and the fabric within the visor has deteriorated which makes the visor not able to close properly and continuously fall down. I have found info online that there was a class action lawsuit against Honda in 2011 for most Civics between 2006-2009 however since mine is a 2010 it does not fall into that category. Yet is does seem as though the issue was not fixed properly. I have spoken with the attorney who handled the suit against Honda and it was suggested I file a complaint here to get the word out that the issue still exists so hopefully we can expand the class within the lawsuit.
Drivers side sun visor split open and now droops into drivers vision.
After a hot day driving the car visor went down while about to make a rt hand turn I almost pulled out visor fell into my vision. Luck I stopped there was a car coming. It had split in half due to the heat.
