While driving, the hood prop rod dislodged from its securing clip and fell onto the positive terminal of the battery. This caused an electrical short, which led to the rod heating up rapidly and igniting a fire under the hood. The fire damaged the headlight assembly and the surrounding trim panel, though the wiring fortunately did not catch fire. A nearby police officer was able to extinguish the fire before it spread further. This incident posed a serious safety risk and could have resulted in more extensive damage or injury. There were no warning lights or symptoms before the failure. The issue appears to stem from the design or failure of the clip that holds the hood prop rod in place. The vehicle has not been modified and was being driven under normal conditions. A local auto body shop inspected the vehicle afterward and confirmed that the loose prop rod made contact with the battery terminal, creating a serious fire hazard. They advised reporting this as a safety issue. The manufacturer has not yet inspected the vehicle. The incident was witnessed by a police officer, and the damage was evaluated by an independent repair shop following the fire.

After turning off the vehicle and locking it the vehicle continuously turns on to accessory mode on its own. On a few occasions I came out to a dead battery or have been woken up more than once to my alarm blaring in the middle of the nite and when I came out to check my vehicle it was usually turned on to accessory mode upon researching the internet I found that many owners with the 2016 and 2017 have the same problem which is a result of a faulty body control module within the keyless entry system. I have taken my car to Honda to be fixed it's been 3 days now with no solution on repairs yet. 6/7/25.

My Honda Civic sedan 2017 does not turn on all the lights on the dash turn on and I can not push my breaks to turn the vehicle on.
Following completion of reporting walnut municipal code (wmc) 3. 40. 010 violations at the end of my night, I walked out and found that my car was again vandalized in retaliation for filing a complaint related to the violation of walnut municipal code 3. 40. 010. Such vandalism is intended to further disengage the workforce by causing expenses that are extreme, and such vandalism can occur as repeatedly as the nuisance of such noise violations involving such misuse of non-emergency one way communication speakers as radio devices to emit noise in the form of statements describing oneself as an enforcement or city professional, aside from some type of affiliation with a financial institution advisor, if not regulator of such related agency. In this case the vandalism involved not allowing turning off the red tail lights of my vehicle. The usual occurrence is kill switching the vehicle as if it is stolen, activating the alarm to prevent my usage, not unlocking the vehicle with the key, remotely disengaging the key from the alarm, and then engaging when an authority external to the dealer decides to stop precluding its use. Such actions targeting preclusion are usually alleviated after several additional inspections are made and planned activities have passed, eg a social event or deadline. Thank you for your attention. Automatic high beams, etc. Potentially very dangerous to other drivers. Place a limit on the intensity of headlights. Ultra bright lights tend to interfere with me knowing where my own vehicle is on the road. It's getting to be almost a constant anxiety attack driving at night with both on coming and following vehicles with ultra bright lights, including low beams. And if the offending vehicle is a SUV or a pickup it feels like I'm flirting with the distinct possibility of an accident and or injury.

I had rear brake driver side light change on Tuesday November 16, 2021 at the Hondas dealer downtown los angeles. On Wednesday November 17, 2021 the 3rd rear brake light started a fire in my truck. The light bult overheated melted the cover, burned the fuse and my dress and suit in the trunk started to burn. It smelled horrible. I immediately called the dealer and Honda. The dealer made a diagnosis that the fuse burned but they cannot explain why or if it will happen again if it gets replaced. I am paying $496. 62 to the dealer for repair but they cannot determine what cause it? I am very upset because my son is 2 years old and he seats in the rear. I am a single mother and I was dropping him to school when this happened. I don't imagine being exposes to fire or any safety hazard. The driver rear breake light was previously replaced on February of 2021. I found it strange and asked the dealer why is it being replaced too many time and just one side but they cannot explain why. I want an investigation or some kind of explanation why my vehicle catch fire. I dont know if Honda is manufacturing vehicles with faulty electric wire in the trunk causing fires and damages. I want to prevent future deaths. It was a very scary, stressful situation, traumatic experience. My dress has a hole and my suit inside the truck were damage expenses adding to $1,512. 00. Please help me investigate this matter. Thank you.

While driving the low beams cut out and the switch harness proved to be faulty. Other Honda Civics of that year had the head light switch recalled but my VIN didn't qualify for the recall. The recall it should have gotten but it didn't qualify for was NHTSArecall number:12v-136.
Dealership found this Honda one brake light blub only with 26764 miles in early 2021. I complained to Honda, they claimed and a case 12786775 and let me called them, then told me "out of warranty". Honda then closed the case. This is a quality of light blub issue, not warranty. In fact 1. Dealership said it is not often saw, only saw a few, you are unluck. One out of 10000 blub can like that. 2. I had a few Honda before, all light blubs will be good even they were more than 80000 miles and more than 12 or 15 years old. This is a clearly quality issue. Honda need replace it freely. Thanks.

Vehicle will not start. The vehicle was sitting in my office parking lot the first time this happened and went to leave and the inside lights flashed and then seemed as if the battery died. Got car jumped off, took to economy Honda in chattanooga, TN they checked it and said nothing was wrong and the battery was fine. Left and now about a month later it is doing the exact same thing. Went to start it, lights flash and it wont come on and now it's not doing anything.

I bought a Honda Civic 2016. I notice that my front led light maker does not work only left side work and it is about to go out too. Sometime it goes on as its please. And air condition does not blow cold air . I hope they recall all these problems. .
"I was pulling into the parking lot, when the car started to accelerate on its own! I push the brake pedal to the max and it kept on going, over cement stoppers, grass, and finally a tree stop it from continuing! and I am not a zenior citizen yet!".
I have issues that have been reported previously and while the vehicle was under warranty. Now that the warranty is out the problem has been more severe. The 1st problem is the display for the radio, heating and cooling and the speed display has been effected some but not like the radio and cooling/heating display. It has gone blank, it has froze up. It has lost all functioning. The 2nd is the air compressor. It has a leak and apparently this is an issue with a lot of the tourings. People have replaced them and had the same issues. The displays have had problems both in drive modes and parked. I have googled on how to fix those issues and we have disconnected the battery to do the same. The cooling/heating system cools some times but not all the time.
My wife and I have a 2012 Honda Civic which seriously is a nightmare in repairs a lot of maintenance issues involving electrical as well as the car lacking power and the car needing to replace electrical harness due to the wires bing wrapped in some kind of sweet texture that rodents seemed to enjoy to much. Furthermore with the amount of problems we had with his car at 66100 miles I would much rather go back to my 95 Honda Civic 92 Honda Civic or 93 Honda Civic del sol any other day than this jung what kind of car needs an update for its diagnostics to work seriously. What is it iron man needing a charge this car is junk the battery don't last that long and furthermore when they decide to recall this battery what is vehicle you can gladly take your jalopy back. . . Don't buy a Honda unless you want to wish to buy new like we did and throw thousands and thousands of dollars into your vehicle to have it run like junk. Toyota camry or corolla here I come. . . Because this vehicle resale value sucks and so does everything else about the vehicle the gas mileage is not at all what you should claim it to be especially for ecoboost motor so yeah sad thing is my family has bought three Hondas and this is the last time they see any of our retirement this car is seriously junk you can gladly take my back even if you don't recall it all rights can send it back to you in confetti us army ranger. . . .
Takata recall. My airbag light came on and then I saw the recall. My model should be recalled as well. Also exterior lighting is very dull both of these have been previously recalled. I was in park, started my car and the airbag light came on. Scanner says it's the inflator.

Couple of weeks ago I was driving and the car kept going with full speed flying with no control to stop it . I did get to make the full stop of avoiding hitting the car in front of me . But I did get rear ended .
The speedometer flickers speed. For example if I am going 70 mph on the highway, my speedometer will display i0.

Also wasn't able to select the steering, the speed control brakes and the wheels/tires. The car has completely shut off while driving going 60 on the highway. Since I've got this car it's been a huge pain and has been in the shop nearly the entire time I've had it. I'm currently making monthly payments on it and have had the car since 2017 and have put over $9,000 worth of work into it. . It finally has stopped working again I've been without a car for over a year because I can't continue to dump money into it. The abs light and check engine have been on since I've got it and the tire pressure light has always been on since I've got it the airbag light blinks while driving randomly and the electrical has went out while driving as well all the lights and radio would completely go out while driving during the day this happened thank god because had it happened at night I wouldn't of been able to see the road. The car has had the battery replaced many times and the tires constantly loose threading and feels like the car steering is shaking while driving. The child safety restraint lights blink as well randomly as well with the airbag lights. My sterling wheel has completely locked up while driving unable to move it at all. This car has cost me loads of money and put me in such a bad place financially I wish I never got it.

The passenger side low beams on the car do not work even though the high beams will work. It seems somewhat similar to what happens to the 2001 & 2002 Honda Civics. The fueses in the car seem to work fine and even when a new bulb is installed the low beams only work for a couple of days before the low beams stop working.

Interior light's on the whole dash board flash while in motion driving, stopped at stop sign's or red light, stopped to make a turn and paint around windshield is peeling.
Light switch terminal overheated. While in motion on the road, low beam lights suddenly go dark, but high beams and parking lights do work fine. See NHTSA campaign id 04v086000.
Driving on a rural highway and hit a deer. Impact bent the bracket that holds the airbag sensor completely backwards and into the sensor itself, which cracked. Airbag never deployed. Now, post repair, airbag warning and light are on constantly.
Takata recall the side airbag light check turns on randomly from time to time. Then a day or 2 later I get a dmv alert saying my vehicle has been recalled for a safety defect in the airbag. The check light would turn on when I am driving and would stay on.
Takata recall I had an air bag recall back in 2016. I noticed the electrical system of the car is always giving me problems. For example the light inside in the middle of the vehicle works whenever it feels like working. Second the passenger side of the window motor I already changed it 3 times and it's still giving me trouble. I already spent too much money I gave up on trying to fix it. Also I already lost count on how many times I have changed my brakes minding that I hardly drive my car. In addition my gas never last either no matter what kind of gas I put. Tried all of them and it's always the same. I bought my vehicle because they promised me I would spend less gas but that was not true.
