Takata recall. Got notification last week that my car was recalled for passenger airbag possibly exploding. Called dealer. Dealer said they don't have parts. Haven't had parts "for months" and don't even know for sure if they'll get parts when Honda says they will in two months. Can explode at any time, even when not in crash. This is really unacceptable. So I'm not allowed to carry passengers until god knows when? you need to get on Honda and fine them until they make this right for everyone. Stalling and delaying on such serious repairs is not safe for anyone. It is ridiculous how long they are dragging this out when they knew the parts were defective almost from the beginning and continued to use them. They need to be held accountable.

I purchased a Honda Civic lx on 5-1-16, my test drive was approximately 10 minutes long and I did not experience any pain. My drive home from the dealership was approximately 30 minutes long. By the time I arrived home my arms and legs were numb, I had pain in my sacral, lumbar, and cervical spine areas. I had just traded in my 2016 Honda fit purchased o 3-3-16 at a $4,000. 00 dollar loss due to sever back pain and extremity numbness while driving the salesman told me the reason the Honda fit 2016 seats were so bad was do to the fact that they are made in mexico. I am 5'3" and I weigh 122 lb. I do yoga almost every day and consider myself physically fit. I have no history of back pain. The seat bottom is so low and short that I have nothing under my thighs for support and the angle of the seat floor is so sever that my knees are up by the steering wheel and my buttocks is way down close to the floor. My knees are constantly hitting the center console and driver door when turning or hitting bumps in the road. I have been a loyal Honda car owner for many years and am shocked by this dangerous geometrical error in ergonomics that Honda is marketing. My response time could be severely hindered do to the hazarous interior set up of this 2016 Civic lx.

Bought the 2009 Honda Civic January 2016. Within weeks I developed a sore hip and then pain down my leg to my knee. Most uncomfortable seat I ever sat in. I tried using a cushion. It didn't help much. Its especially painful on any outing lasting more than an hour. Will not take it on long trips. I visited car complaints. Com and realized that others with similar issues. Its defiantly a design flaw. Im seriously thinking of selling the car.

Was driving down a neighborhood street getting ready to turn, driver air bag, passenger curtain, and side seat air bags deployed, the seat belt is no longer in working order because of this. . . And here was no reason for these to deploy, no impact to anything whatsoever. Honda ask about pot holes and if we encountered one, nothing to the at effect either. I was hit in my chest and stomach, passenger was hit in arm and side of head from these. I am in my first trimenster of pregnancy. Both myself, the firebrand passeng went to dr. Honda corp was called and notified, regional manager came to local Honda dealer to have car looked at. Honda rep insisted this would not just happen, but it did, as I was in vehicle and the driver. After having car inspected, they informed us they it was impact related. There were no damages, dents or anything to support this "theory". They refused to do anything to the car except want to charge me a fee for this service. The estimate given to take care of my vehicle was $6,500. 00. Did I fail to mention that passenger front air bag did not deploy, despite the fact that it was a so called "impact". Honda has not done anything to make restituion in any way, closed our file and left us to take care of it. Refused to accept responsibility fro a Honda product.

We purchased this car on April 11, 2015. Don't drive the car everyday. However, every time I am in the car, even for short distances, I get really sick--headache, nausea, tightness in the head, and extreme tiredness. I am not prone to car sickness, and have driven a brand new Honda accord previously, and have never experienced these symptoms before. A 2011 report cites Honda Civic as being the 'healthiest' car to drive. Has something changed in the materials that Honda now uses? is anyone else experiencing these problems? what can I do next? how long before ventilation dissipates these issues?.
On April 8 2015 while I was driving to my house, I saw smoke coming out of the dashboard so I had to desperately stop the car I run. My car was call for recall and I when to Honda services in hillside, new jersey where they told me that they had to fix something from the air bag in the dash board they told me they have to order some parts and they will call me to comeback so I waiedt for one month and two month and they never call me I called to find out about those parts and I was told the same thing, that they are going to call me I believe my car was total destroy in fire because they did not fix my car on time.

The srs light has been constantly on. The dealer says it is not the result of failed seat belts or airbags. Possible fault is the computer. I do not feel that the computer failure is as a result of anything I have done. It has been on for many years. I do feel the responsibility rests with the corporation to produce a car that does not exhibit this basic dysfunction.

Driver's seat mount is broken. When raising or lowering the seat (manual lever), only the left side of the seat moves. When raised, left side of seat is higher than right side. Also seat does not feel entirely stable. (date is approximate, as no mva or other incident caused this. ).
Air bag light came on. Determined is was code 9-3 driver seat belt switch.

The contact owns a 2001 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while at a stop light, another vehicle crashed into the rear of the vehicle. The passenger's side air bag was the only air bag to deploy. The contact also stated that the driver's side seat adjusters became fractured during the crash, which caused the seat to fall in reverse. A police report was filed and the driver sustained internal bruising from the steering wheel. The driver also sustained a herniated and bulging disc in the neck, which required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.
2012 Civic seat issue - I had a 2008 Civic coupe. This car was great. The seat, for me was very comfortable. A couple of weeks ago, it was totaled in a car crash and I replaced it with a 2012 Civic sedan. The seats look the same as the 2008, but not at all comfortable. My back hurts after just 10 minutes of driving. The seat is hard on the bottom and the back, not curved properly to my back and no matter what position or setting I try, it hurts. The dealer refuses to replace it stating that it is not defective and a new one will not solve the problem. I want my 2008 seat back. I don't know how long I can put up with this. I guess I will have to sell the car soon.
The drivers side seatback is falling off. Possibly clips broke.
I commute almost 2 hours to work and then 2 hours back each day. Therefore, I traded my silverado for a 2012 Civic for the gas mileage. I bought the car used in may of 2014. It was the second Civic on the lot that I test drove. I did not notice anything amiss about either car during the test drives. However, on my first trip home from work I noticed that I felt like my butt was sinking further into the seat and my legs began to ache really bad. Also, the lumbar support is far less than desireable. So far the only fix I have come up with is to lay folded towel down in the seat. But sometimes the towel moves or becomes unfolded. I am still searching for a more permanent solution to the problem. Honda needs to fix the uncomfortable seats.
My son was critically injured in an accident in 2014 with this vehicle. He was on a country road and missed a sharp curve entering a field. The airbag did not deploy, the seatbelt did not hold and the seat back collapsed. He was ejected from the vehicle. This vehicle was totaled as a result of this accident and I have notified Honda multiple times. I still receive recall notifications.
6/2013 car accident I hit a parked car traveling at approximately 20-25 miles per hour. The airbags did not deploy. The company chosen to do the work (custom innovations in eugene, oregon) did not repair the motor mounts. Which im very upset about and trying to deal with. After having the work done the car was taken to Honda (kendall Honda also in eugene, oregon) to have an assessment of my car diagnosed. The was the motor mount issue and other items oil change, transmission flush and the srs light was on. Honda service dept. Could not diagnose the srs and said they would get back to me. They never did. Approx 1mo. Diagnosis at Honda, I was sitting in a park parking lot charging my phone in the car with it in the accessory position. I had been there about 10 minutes when all of a sudden the drivers side airbag in the seat and the rear drivers side curtain air bag deployed. Scared the crap out of me and my dog. I suffered minor cuts, abrasions and severe brusing to my left elbow and tricep. I immediately went to Honda. It was a Sunday so only the sales team was there. I went again on Monday only to be sent away, with a we will call you. . . . . Very dismissive and vague. Then after calling 5-6 times they finally scheduled an appointment to look into it. Afterwards, they didnt have much to tell me except that it would cost me thousands of dollars to repair and no they didnt have an answer for why the airbags went off. Essentially I feel that the airbags should be replaced free of charge in addition to the srs sensors all being replaced because I have a feeling this was all due to the recall on the passenger seat occupant detection system. . . . . Which I did not know about nor have it checked prior to any of the mentions events. I am very concerned that there is a chance the other airbags may deploy at random. I aslo would like my car to have all the recalls completed.
The leather in the middle console and the left arm rest are pulled back for just resting the arm there.
The contact owns a 2013 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the springs in the front driver and passenger's side seats were protruding out from the cushion of the seats. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the technician stated that the seats were functioning as designed. The manufacturer was not made aware of failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.
Dashboard indicator light came on for airbag system. Took to a shop and they read to codes to determine that it was a faulty pressure sensor in the passenger seat that is causing the problem.

Severe motion sickness when driving on the interstate; thought it was just a "small car" problem but it was persistent all the way to chicago and back to san francisco. Basically, a roller coaster ride at interstate speeds and suspect that it is a faulty suspension design. Engine (would stall and then quickly accelerate problem) and driver wiped out after about eight thousand miles. The seat design is extremely poor and causes pinched nerves for passenger and driver. Maybe the car is just good for local short drives and the younger crowd. . . Was supposed to get my old, trade-in vehicle back but Honda service ran off with the car and I sold it on ebay/paypal but got entangled in more fraud (various loan frauds by Honda and then the ebay buyer ran a scam and never paid for the car according to paypal). So, then the car got stolen by the scam loan company associated with Honda. . . A total bad experience as well as defective car design.
Honda Civic 2006 ex model: when the tiny piece of plastic inside the trunk release solenoid snaps, the ex model has no alternative method to open the trunk from outside the trunk. Since the ex model lacks an outside key hole and the seat back releases are inside the trunk and the seats are bolted in from the trunk side without a method of removing them without damaging the car, the seats of the car or the trunk lid must be broken (literally cut through the metal) in order to open the trunk from outside the trunk after the solenoid plastic breaks. Since the emergency release mechanism is attached to the solenoid, this flaw could cost the life of a child trapped inside the trunk in the dark. Although this design flaw is now well known with this ex model, Honda refuses to reimburse owners over this problem or recall the part. Their customer service line refuses to handle the problem effectively and refuses to pass on the problem to their engineering department, referring customers only to local deanships without offering any compensation for their faulty product.
The driver seat started rocking as you drive the car. Dealer stated that the bushings are worn out and need to be replaced. Honda is not offering any assistance or recall on this known issues with the 2001 - 2003 vehicles.
The passenger seat airbag light doesn't turn off, it stays on. The passenger airbag should be off when no one is sitting there but the light stays on.
I have been experience ongoing lower back, hip and knee pain for the past few years. I have difficulty walking after getting out of the car.
Other driver slammed into rear of my car at about 30 mph. I recall going forward inside my car but it seems seat belt did not tighten. Turns out my driver's seat frame was broken in the accident and my best guess is entire driver's seat was going forward. Don't know if this is usual or not. I've not heard of it. Also, would like to know whether the fact that the entire driver's seat was moving forward is reason seat belt did not tighten.
When even slightly damp, passenger seat initiates a dash warning light advising airbag system is deactivated. This occurs regardless of vehicle being stationary or in motion.
Every now and then at random times, speeds, etc. The warning light that says "passenger airbag off" comes on. This happens when someone weighing as much as 145 lbs. Is sitting in that seat.
A new team tex America car seat was given to a family through the emergency department as the family tried to put the seat in with the lower anchors it was discovered that a part of the lower anchor that secures it to the seat seemed to be melted. Upon further investigation it appears that the manufacturer used a heating process to connect the lower anchor and any small amount of pulling on this piece causes the heated area to separate from the connection on the seat itself. (related vehicle information: model year=2007, make=Honda, model=civic).
I event recall on Honda odyssey seats that would not stay latched. . . Exactly what was happening with our Civic coupe. Rarely did we move the passenger seat but when we did it would frequently not lock in place after awhile without a very jerry movement with weight in the seat. . . We'd forget to check and come to a stop sign and I'd slide forward or accelerate on the freeway and I'd slide back, just an inch or so, but I was afraid of what might happen in an accident. No one believed us /saw anything wrong with the seat. Point is reading the release today - - there could be more Honda vehicles affected. We have sold the car so I can't provide any more info. Date below is an estimate.
Car seats are extremely uncomfortable. Absolutely no back support and head rest is way too forward, causing an arch of your back. I have a daily commute to work of 120 miles and every day I feel like my back needs to re-aligned. I have a monthly cost of $340 for car payment and $50-$80 of body re-alignment. Manufacture should have a disclaimer on these vehicles.
The head rest is too far forward, and very uncomfortable. It needs to be adjustable, not in a fixed position.
