1 Wheel problem of the 2015 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 09/06/2025

The salespeople are very unprofessional and don’t take the wellbeing and safety of their customers or the surrounding public seriously. My husband and I went to stark to test drive a couple of their cars. The first car that we test drove the Honda Civic should have been properly repaired first before ever being placed on the lot. To even get the parking brake lowered, my husband had to disassemble the plastic manifold, second the car was lowered to the point where it scraped the road whenever we were turning on an incline, finally there was some mechanical issue with the gear shift where we weren’t able to reverse. When we got back from the test drive the salesperson explained to us that they knew of this issue and that there’s a trick to it. This trick wasn’t mentioned to us at the start of the test drive, nor did the salesperson go with us to explain it to us on the road. This is very dangerous, what if there was an emergency and we needed to reverse. Not knowing this trick not only puts our lives in danger but also all the other drivers in the area. I’m not a car person, but even I know that a car should be able to go forwards and backwards.

2 Wheel problem of the 2018 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 09/02/2025

The car has excessive play in the steering causing much vibrations in the seat and steering wheel while driving, the slightest movement will send you all over the road and presents itself extremely jerky and unstable handling. It should not have this much play in the steering. I see multiple complaints over the steering of this car model but oddly enough I have the opposite issue pertaining to the same components but either way it sounds like the steering system of these cars are not up to par in some way and it seems dangerous to continue driving with noticeable issues there. Im about to trade it in dispite im still paying on it and there is over 100,000 miles on it. It feels like an expensive fix that just aint that worth it to me.

3 Wheel problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 08/23/2025

Body: underneath part came unsecured out of nowhere on my collage daughters car. It was scary for her as it scraped bottom and rattled out of no where on highway. She stopped and since nothing on hand, she had to push it up with feet and it bent to hold till she got to shop. They quick fix with zip tie or something. Someone hit her from back and she took to shop. I mentioned it that some noise coming after the fix and was supposed to to bring it to them this week. It just rattled but nothing else. Drivable still. Than middle of no where, that bottom popped again and she panicked. It was Sunday so no one is open. I had to have her park at work and pick her up which is an hour away. This is very dangerous as when we googled, this has happened to soooo many Honda Civic owners! need to do recall and fix this issue for good. It’s underneath the car so hard to tell till it drops to flow. We love the car but this issue is greater. Also, she has tire sensor light always comes up. We got new tires also!.

4 Wheel problem of the 2023 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/16/2025

5 Wheel problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/26/2025

Found out the my car has a recall last December 2024. I drove to my dealership and told them about it. They said they dont have available parts for the recall in my car and the service advisor I talked to was told me that they have the parts for the recall but they prioritize the newer car so that they can sell it. Then I called the manufacturer and let them know what the dealership was told me. 2 days later the manufacturer called me and said that they contacted my dealership and letting me know that they were be able to fix my car about the safety recall. But after I drove my car to my dealership and got it fixed and its all good as they said, but when I drove my car nothing change and its gets more difficult to control the steering wheel until now. Most drivers thinks I'm drunk and keep their distance away from my car. Then I brought my car back to the dealership and told them about it and they said they already done the repaired and got it fix but the repaired seems unsuccessful.

6 Wheel problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 10/30/2024

Theres been a recall for my car but I never received any letter nothing about this.

7 Wheel problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/20/2024

As I attempted to turn my steering wheel to exit interstate I-90 east, the steering wheel became increasingly hard to control and I heard a popping noise in my front driver side tire. My vehicle slid into the curb, resulting in the front driver side fender damage, tire damage, axel damage, and 3 deployed airbags. The vehicle’s electric power steering failed and it is available for inspection. Both mine and my mom’s safety were at risk, however no injuries occurred. I have not received a recall notice at all and the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the power steering issue before this occurred.

8 Wheel problem of the 2018 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 06/17/2024

Unknown.

9 Wheel problem of the 2021 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 05/22/2024

Steering wheel catches and I have had to replace a strut due to the car wearing out my tire. I have kept proper maintenance and align my wheels regularly. This is a manufacturer defect not yet recalled. I've seen multiple people with this issue claiming it may ve the lkas system or steering worm or steering component issue. This needs to be recalled as it will cause death in the right circumstances. Honda do better. Your reputation is degrading.

10 Wheel problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/30/2024

My steering wheel is very sticky. Doesn't happen until I've been driving at highway speeds for at least 15 minutes. It's also worse when it's warmer. My steering wheel is so sticky to the left to the point where I don't feel safe and feel like I could fly off the curves if don't drive under the speed limit (ie feel need to drive 60mph around bends on a 70mph highway).

11 Wheel problem of the 2023 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 03/26/2024

On January 23, I first noticed a severe alignment problem, as the car felt unstable and was veering in one direction. I took the vehicle to mavis tire shop, where an alignment was performed. Initially, the car felt fine, but the same issue reoccurred on February 6. I then took the vehicle to dch paramus Honda for a recall inspection and explained the alignment problem, mentioning my prior visit to mavis. They informed me that mavis did not perform the alignment correctly but assured me that everything was fixed. However, the alignment issue returned, and I brought the car back to dch paramus on March 12. Despite my frustration and concern, they performed another alignment and multi-point inspection at no charge. Yet, they inaccurately documented that the issue might be due to my driving habits and tints, which is not true. I don’t drive at night, nor do I drive recklessly or through potholes. On March 26, the alignment issue led to a minor accident. I attempted to stop near the highway divider as I felt the car veering uncontrollably, which caused damage to the side skirt. I had it repaired at an auto shop as I need the car for my daily 50-mile commute. On April 16, I spoke to a Honda representative and explained my ongoing safety concerns. Despite my detailed explanation, the representative's response made me feel undervalued as a customer. I was told I would be assigned a case manager, but as of today, may 27, I have not received any follow-up communication. This lack of response leads me to believe Honda is waiting for my warranty to expire, which is unacceptable.

12 Wheel problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/27/2024

Not the sticky steering for sure and also fill I have the faulty steering rack even tho it’s not included in recall I can feel something running on the driver side floor while turning.

13 Wheel problem of the 2023 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/18/2024

I started having issues with my tire the tire felt wobbly like if it was loose I took it to mavis tire shop it was closer to my house as an emergency I got my tire balanced and alignment. The tire felt fine for like a day then I started having the same issues so I took it to Honda service center which felt fine as well for like a day they ran a multipoint inspection and they said the car wasn’t aligned properly. The car felt good for like a day as well and I’m having the same issues. I believe traveling over 50 mph taking my car out of alignment on my route to work.

14 Wheel problem of the 2018 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/15/2024

The trms system constantly displays low tire pressure. I correct the tire pressure and reset the trms every time but it happens again and again. . The dealer has also reset the trms system, and in a few days it indicated that the tire pressure went down again. I have complained to the Honda dealerships and my mechanic. They’ve not found anything wrong. If the tires are good maybe there’s something wrong with the wheels. Although I have extensive receipts for all my maintenance and repairs, and I’ve frequently complained, they seldom indicate my complaints about tire pressure.

15 Wheel problem of the 2023 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 01/08/2024

After driving for 20-30 min, when I noticed the steering wheel is hard to adjust I am assume it is about all other complaint refer to "sticky steering" issue I see there are recall on the other Civic trim but not the si trim, I believe the si also have the same issue.

16 Wheel problem of the 2023 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 12/01/2023

I have a steering wheel that sticks at highway speeds around 50-70 mph while driving straight, my steering wheel sticks. The Honda dealership says it's fine. I believe they greased something during my recall inspection that made my steering not as noticeable. He said everyone has sticky steering but that Honda has no fix. My tires are balding at an extreme rate and very uneven wear. I have been arguing with the dealership and have given up. I also have a valve cover that is leaking oil. My car has 35k miles.

17 Wheel problem of the 2023 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 11/15/2023

I believe my steering has failed. I got it looked at, the dealership reported that nothing was wrong with it. My safety is at risk because it is hard to steer. It jerks on the highway. I believe it is cause my wheels/tires to also jerks and swivel. My car feels very shaky on the highway. I have not taken it to another mechanic because the dealership has already said they would not reimburse me if someone else replaced it. I have a warranty and do not want to pay a crazy amount of money if the dealership will cover it anyways.

18 Wheel problem of the 2023 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 11/01/2023

I got a recall notice in Nov,2024 for my 2023 Honda Civic, I called the Honda dealer to make an appointment to get my car fixed, the gentleman told me I can't make my appt now he told me I gotta wait because he doesn't have what they need to fix it, he also said I would get another notification about my car's recall. . Here it is Jan,2024 still nothing. The parts that got recalled on my car is nothing to sit around and wait,it's dangerous to take a chance on me driving and my eps does what the recall said can happen. How long does a dealer have to fix a customer's recall its been months and 1 wk.

19 Wheel problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 10/27/2023

A few weeks ago around 18k miles I noticed my steering wheel kind of sticking in place and taking a lot of effort to move, then it suddenly breaks loose and I over turn the steering wheel causing me to correct myself back into my lane, and sometimes it even gets stuck when I try to correct it. This now happens when I drive the car for more than 30 minutes or so, mostly on the freeway. I am scared to drive my car. Also now have uneven wear on the inside of a single tire.

20 Wheel problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 09/17/2023

On September 17, 2023, while traveling at 65 mph on the highway, my car's steering suddenly pulled, resulting in a blown front passenger tire. The impact forced the car into construction barriers, damaging the passenger side mirror. Due to construction constraints, finding a safe spot to pull over was challenging, so I drove a short distance to assess the damage. Upon inspection, the tire was shredded, the rim damaged, and the passenger mirror torn off, with additional harm to the paint and body. Aaa installed the spare tire. This incident wasn't isolated; recurring issues with the steering, including a September 22, 2022 incident where the car unexpectedly veered into a curb, had been ongoing since leasing the car on September 20, 2022. After the recent highway incident, concerns heightened when the spare tire blew out while awaiting a new tire and rim from the Honda dealership. The car was towed to the dealership, revealing extensive work needed on the steering rack and other components. Despite the car having only 11k miles, the dealership estimated approximately $8k for repairs. Investigating further, I discovered a recent recall, including my VIN. However, the dealership was unaware of the recall, and their attempt to address the issue did not align with its specifics. They stated that despite my VIN being included, my steering column is not covered under the recall. This lack of awareness, coupled with over 440 similar incidents reported for 2022 Honda Civic sports sedans, raises concerns about the manufacturer's understanding of the problem's magnitude. There is a defect with my car. Honda included it in the recall, should further investigate, assume responsibility and correct as part of the recall or manufacturer's warranty. Despite the ordeal, I am grateful for regaining control on the highway and safely maneuvering off the road without harm to myself or other vehicles.

21 Wheel problem of the 2018 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 08/07/2023

Driving at 70mph I got a low tire pressure alert followed shortly thereafter by the left rear tire separating entirely from the rim and started rolling down the highway as I pulled off the side of the road. Very nearly lost control of the vehicle.

22 Wheel problem of the 2020 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/24/2023

I mainly am reaching out due to my brakes making a very loud creaking noise when breaking. I wanted to see if there were any recalls for brakes on my car so I could have the dealership fix it for free. The car is fairly new and I don’t think the brakes would sound like a old wood bridge creaking when I brake. Please let me know if there are any recalls on this vehicle related tot he issue. Thank you for you time and consideration to this message.

23 Wheel problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/07/2023

Steering wheel locks up and trunk hatchback leaks every time it rains.

24 Wheel problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 06/06/2023

The tpms (tire pressure monitoring system) never illuminated to let me know I had a flat tire, and still didn't illuminate even after the entire tread was ripped off the sidewall of the tire. The front left tire was the one that went flat, and had I not been astute to the vehicles behavior, I could have been in a severe accident, as it is a front tire. I noticed the car pulling left a little, but thought it was due to the construction being done to repave the highway. After about 10 minutes of driving, I felt and heard the thumping of a flat tire. I had to drive a few miles to safely exit the highway when I heard the loud bang of the tread separating from the rim and hitting the underside of the car and wheelwell. For the tread to have been completely sheared off, I must have been driving on a flat for a considerable amount of time. The entire time, the tpms never illuminated to warn of a flat or of low tire pressure. When I got to the dealership, the service writer told me the tpms doesn't warn of a blowout. I found that to be a strange comment, because I clearly didn't have a blowout. The car was pulling for a little while (over 10 minutes), and then it started the notorious thumping of a flat tire before the tread eventually ripped apart. I couldn't find anywhere in the 2022 Honda Civic sedan owners manual that states anything to support the service writer. Only that it measures even tire pressure, which it obviously wouldn't have had, so the tpms should have come on. Even if the tpms didn't warn prior to a flat, I think it should have illuminated when the tread totally separated from the sidewall of the tire, and it did not. I sat with the car running for at least 20-25 minutes after getting off the highway, and it still never illuminated. From what the ray price Honda dealership service writer said, it didn't record any errors either.

25 Wheel problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 05/01/2023

When driving the 22 Civic sport the steering wheel seems to get stuck in a position and you have to fight it to get unstuck which is severely unsafe I have brought the vehicle to the dealer months back and they told me nothing is wrong I became very frustrated because my wife drives this vehicle to work and brings our boys to school and there safety is at jeopardy daily it’s a brand new vehicle now there is a steering rack recall as of December 2023 I am her today for the diagnosis I don’t have high hopes because they will tell me it’s fine again something needs to be done these cars are not safe to drive it’s a constant battle trying to drive this car and keep it going straight in your lane and the highway feels like a death trap today is December 27th 7:00am est I am waiting to pull into dealer service bay this needs to be addressed ASAP it’s a lease I have always leased never had issues this is my fourth one with Honda and the most trouble I have had now they told me they don’t even check anything about recall they scan the VIN if it matches an issue they will fix it if not it’s fine be on your way I’m like what!!! I said the steering is really bad and was brought in before and they told me I’m feeling things it’s fine I need help from higher up this vehicle needs to be replaced ASAP it’s going to take a severe crash or death for this to become serious really I’m not the only one having this issue.

26 Wheel problem of the 2018 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 05/01/2023

Parking brake does not light up. It will flash and not turn on. Once the car is in park and pull the brake button it will not engage. Turning off the engine you can hear the brake system trying to engage but doesn’t. This is a problem when parking the car up hill or down hill. Have been avoiding parking car in these scenarios.

27 Wheel problem of the 2019 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 01/04/2023

I purchased this car from fox Honda a few weeks after it was sold to the car dealership. When I picked up the car and drove home, I noticed noises from the car. I took my car to a body shop nearby to check. The mechanic said one of the tires wasn’t sealed. I continued to hear weird noises coming from the front of my car. A month later, the low-tire-pressure sign appeared. I called the salesperson again, and he said the car was fine due to weather. I was worried, so I took the car to Honda city in liverpool, NY to get inspected. They got rid of the low-tire-pressure sign. The service of fox Honda was inadequate as it didn’t make sure the car I bought was inspected throughout before selling it. Everyone convinced me that there was no problem with the car until my car corrupted on January 4, 2021. My son was driving the car home from school. When he made the left turn, he said the car seemed out of balance and then it hit the sidewalk. The speed in the area was about 35mph, and the car was driven slower than the speed because it made a left turn at the intersection. The wheel and front axle on the passenger side fell off from the vehicle. He was scared, so he called 911. Police came, and people on the road all thought it was the strangest thing that ever happened to a car. My husband and I were glad that my son was ok, but a car’s wheel and its axes can’t just fall off like that. My son could end up in the hospital if he drove on the highway. Honda c said my case couldn’t move forward if the body shop at Honda did not give them the inspection report (my insurance did assess the damage, but Honda c did not accept it). The body shop said we had to wait for 2 months, but yesterday, Tuesday 2/21, I met the service manager to ask him to speed up the inspection, and he said Honda c would do it, not him. It was upsetting because both parties stated different things. My pre-paid legal service attorney advised me to report to dmv and the defects to the NHTSA.

My car is have problems with wheel blance I don’t know why 1 year I have to took my car for alignment 2 or 3 times. It is something really wrong with the spring and the wheel blance.

29 Wheel problem of the 2017 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 12/26/2022

Safety concern > while driving on a local roadway, the right front tire went flat but the oem tpms ( this Civic model uses a indirect system ) never alerted ( due to traffic & road conditions was unable to pull off road ) & had to drive to nearest tire dealer, where a associate confirmed no tpms warnings were displayed. After repair work completed, contacted a local Honda dealer service dept. , where a advisor stated there is no repair possible on Honda's indirect tpms. He suggested installing a aftermarket direct tpms ( tire pressure sensors are installed in each tire & a display unit fitted somewhere on dash ) at owner's cost. This is a safety concern.

30 Wheel problem of the 2015 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/06/2022

I was driving and my tires felt as if they were locking while I was driving. As I was driving up a hill my car slowed down and I couldn’t press on the gas pedal. I luckily was able to get it to a safe spot but I wasn’t able to reverse back or drive forward.

31 Wheel problem of the 2019 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 03/08/2022

My camera that is supposed to assist in turning and seeing my blind spot is always malfunctioning in my new 2019 Civic. Honda says they can’t do anything about that. I’ve already had to put new tires on my car - which I suspect didn’t have new tires on it when I purchased my new car. Replace the battery, and my electronic features (radio screen and windows) like to stop working and go black - including my side camera that’s meant to assist in lane changes. Additionally, my car melted in the sun. This has been a known issue with Honda since 2011 and they haven’t addressed that issue or gave any warnings. My tires, and camera for blind spots is a safety issue and the fact that my car is unreliable and melting(!) is troublesome and a safety problem.

32 Wheel problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/09/2022

Steering becomes hard to make adjustments after about 15 min of driving, and makes a noticeable noise when turning.

33 Wheel problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/06/2022

Steering rack is malfunctioning; I've taken my vehicle to different Honda dealerships and have paid for multiple diagnostics regarding the steering rack. The last time I took my vehicle to dealership was Wednesday July 16 2025 at 8:00 am Honda of mishawaka, in I told them the steering wheel was getting sticky and that it was affecting my alignment. Honda took a look and realigned my wheels, but did not fix the issue with my steering.

34 Wheel problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 01/10/2022

My 2022 Honda Civic has been having issues with the eps rack and parts. There has been a recall on this part on the Honda Civics and unfortunately my vehicle was not on the list of cars that was made in the manufacturing time. My car is extremely hard to turn the steering wheel while driving and it causes my cruise control steering system to not work correctly almost causing many accidents. I have also had to buy 2 new sets of tires as it has caused them to wear down faster. Ive had alignments and the car will still steer me to the right direction. The front tires rub very harshly when I need to make a turn. When turning it makes many noises. When I go start to go about 45mph the car will start shaking very harshly until 80mph. The car started to shake and make clunking noises about 6 months in to me having the vehicle and the Honda dealership said it was normal and the issues continued to get worse. As soon as I saw the recall come out I quickly scheduled an appointment for it to be looked at just for my specific car to not be on the list but have all issues that the recall is creating on these vehicles. This is very dangerous as I have small children and the issues continue to worsen.

35 Wheel problem of the 2013 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 12/07/2021

A side impact collision that resulted in the tire snapping off the frame and the airbags did not deploy. Astonished by the craftsmanship of the wheel assembly because of how easily the tire can snap off. The other driver speed at impact was approximately 30+mph. This is not a safe vehicle to be involved in a collision.
