1 Xxxxx problem of the 2010 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 03/03/2020

Rack and pinion steering went completely out on vehicle causing car to crash into guardrail of a bridge. Car was in motion about to cross bay bridge when this happened, safety of driver and other vehicles was compromised. Car wars trying to turn right heading toward the bridge when rack and pinion failed car was stopped by hitting guardrail about 45 miles an hour. Starter had to be replaced the very next month also problems with transmission. All of this has been repaired by owner. I don't feel this should happen as vehicle does not have excess mileage on it.

2 Xxxxx problem of the 2020 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 12/01/2019

Over 4 weeks ago, 2 weeks after leasing the 2020 car, the dashboard started to display numerous error messages. The car was evaluated at the dealer, Honda of freehold, NJ, and I was told that a certain module failed. Soon thereafter a tire warning light also started to display and once again the dealer told us not to be concerned as it is likely as a result of the same module. Not taking their word for it, I brought the car to a costco repair shop and a large nail was discovered in the tire. I've been in touch with the dealer and have also called many times to the corporate offices. The same answer was given the part is on back order and we will call you when we get it. No additional information or suggestion was given to us. In the meantime, over 4 weeks later, although the car is drivable none of the safety features are operational and I am not sure what warning lights to trust or ignore.

5 Xxxxx problem of the 2005 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 08/04/2015

On Friday, July 31, 2015 I brought my 2005 Honda Civic ex [which was in good working condition with no srs or mil lights on] to Honda of kingston on broadway to be serviced on August 1st for the takata air bag recall. When I picked up my car on Monday, August 3rd they told me everything went well and that they had also performed a "complimentary inspection" of my tires, breaks, fluids etc. -- something they never informed me they planned on doing, something I would have never consented to in the first place. They also failed to inform me that my srs light was now on, and what that means. I pulled over on my way home to call and inquire about the light and they told me they could not fit me in until Thursday, August 6th to diagnose it. Driving home, my car began shaking and rattling and became almost impossible to drive. I brought it to the nearest available mechanic who discovered the lug nuts on the front left tire were not secured properly by the technicians at Honda of kingston, and it was close to falling off. They fixed and secured the tire for me and I notified Honda of the incident. They agreed to pay the cost of securing the tire, however they informed me that diagnosing my srs light will cost me $107, and depending on what the issue is, could cost a few hundred to a thousand more. I've never had any issues with the air bag system or the srs light, until it was serviced by Honda of kingston. The srs light obviously indicates that the airbag recall work was not performed correctly, and now the dealer is attempting to charge me to repair it. Not only could I have crashed due to the negligence of the technicians and their inability to even secure a tire properly, but my srs would not have deployed the airbag, even though I was assured when I left with my car that everything went well and my car was in good shape.

6 Xxxxx problem of the 2010 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/19/2014

Tire blowout on freeway. Driver side rear tire. Speed approximately 60 miles per hour. Caused car to spin out of control. Car ended up facing opposing traffic between carpool lane and adjacent lane. Required emergency personnel to get car off freeway. Tire information: michelin primacy mxv. Dot n4ta y4yx 2313. Tires were purchased Dec 30, 2013 failed in less than 4 months. The car had 41789 miles when tires were purchased (tires had less than 4000 miles on them). They still have hairs on them from the manufacturing process. Tire was inspected by sears personnel (eung lee) on foothill in pasadena. It was his opinion that if there was a defect all 4 tires would have failed instead of a single tire.

7 Xxxxx problem of the 2007 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/09/2014

I just had to replace the tires for the second time on this car. The car is expiring uneven tire wear. This does effect braking of the car as well. Honda has admitted that the rear control arm is to short effecting suspension and tire wear. This is dangerous because the visible part of my tire looked fine, plenty of tread and about 38000 on a 90000 mile tire. The inside of the tire was so worn it actually had a hole worn in it. This wear issue could cause a tire to fail while traveling at a high rate of speed. Please help the owners of these vehicles get a recall from Honda before someone is hurt.

8 Xxxxx problem of the 2007 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/10/2010

When I originally purchased this vehicle at $14,000 miles I immediately started to hear noise from the tires at highway speed but it wasnt until my failed inspection that I noticed the severity of the uneven wear/ear on mainly the back tires. Due to a control arm recall, I went to Honda in order to get this fixed and purchased my own tires at the time since they wouldnt cover it. Unfortunately, about 19,000 miles later, again my inspection failed due to the tires. I had replaced it again but at this time Honda would not do anything and told me that it is past the warranty point and if I bring it in and they find that there's something wrong, I would have to pay for it as its not covered under my general warranty. I dont get this because clearly it is a manufactures recall and I shouldnt have to pay for this plus my tires every 19,000 miles. I purposely chose to buy a Honda because they are known to be economical and reliable. None of which my '07 Honda Civic ex has been. I tried taking it out with new tires during the snow; biggest mistake. Even driving in the rain is a hazard. This should be a huge warning for those who are in the market for a Honda Civic. These cars are not woth the price if the tires are not reliable. Tires are an important sector of a car. This is really dissapointing and I would not think twice about taking this matter to court.
