Takata recall. I contacted a dealer, matt castrucci Honda of dayton, on July 6, 2016, to schedule replacement of the passenger side air bag pursuant to the recall notice I received in June of this year. The dealer reports the part is on back order and they'll call us when it's delivered. As of December 5, 2016, we had not been contacted by the dealer. I called Honda hq and did not get a satisfactory response.

Failure Date: 12/13/2014

After making an appointment with voyles Honda in marietta, GA for Dec. 13, 2014 to have the recalled airbags changed, the dealership then informed me after service began that the front passenger-side airbag was not in stock. Since then, I have not been able to get the passenger-side airbag changed. The dealership would not provide any information as to when it will be in stock. It's been 2 1/2 months, and I cannot have any passengers in the front, which is a hardship.

5 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2013

I was driving down the road at 45 mph when all of a sudden both my side air bags deployed. There was no collision or impact to the car. I almost drove off the road because I was so startled by this occurring. I contacted the Honda dealership and they refused to do anything. I then contacted american Honda and they refuse to do anything but give me an inspection of the vehicle. They want me to drive the car to the dealership. I contacted my insurance company and they came to look at the car. They found no reason why the airbags deployed and told me it was a manufacturers defect. I contacted american Honda with this finding and they still refused to provide me with a tow to the dealership claiming they weren't liable for the defect. The insurance adjuster advised me not to drive the car because there may be problems with the front airbags, I am six months pregnant and am not going to risk my life or my child's life because of Hondas inability to fix a problem with an airbag. I could have been seriously injured or killed because these airbags are defective. This is a very dangerous situation. How can airbags deploy with no warning or reason.

The contact owned a 2005 Honda Cr-v. While driving at an unknown rate of speed, the driver crashed into a tree. The driver side air bag deployed with extreme force. The driver sustained a fractured right eye socket, lacerations to the right cheek bone, whiplash, and also sustained further injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The air bags were not inspected by the insurance company to determine the failure. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: (air bags), which was received after the contact experienced the failure. 8 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2011

In early November, 2011 a camaro ran a red light, and our 2005 Honda Cr-v crashed into the camaro. Both of us were going about 30 mph. The front and driver side air bags all successfully deployed, however, the steering wheel airbag burst open and I got secondary burns to both my left and right wrists. The sleeves of my jacket-coat were fried stiff. The primary purpose of the airbag saved my life, but the malfunction of it bursting open, producing secondary burns, can probably be something that they can improve on.

On 2010 January 04 at 15:00 I was driving west in my 2005 Honda Cr-v on the NY state thruway in the left lane, when at mile marker 233. 3 I received a head concussion from the side curtain airbag, which inflated but did not deflate. I was unconscious for some time, and I do not remember subsequent events. My car suffered extensive damage to the left front suspension, but no other people or vehicles were involved. The police arrived and arranged to have my car towed to a repair shop in oriskany, NY, and I was taken to a motel. Ten days later the repairs were completed, and the defective side curtain airbag was preserved by the repair shop.

13 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2008

While I was making a right hand turn into my subdivision, both of my side curtain airbags went off. There was no indication that this was about to happen, no damage to the car, no change in driving circumstances that would obviously trigger the airbags to deploy. I was able to drive the 100 yards home. I sustained minor injuries including air bag burn to left upper arm and temporary loss of hearing to the left ear. I subsequently developed a headache. I have been told by the manufacturer to have the car evaluated by a dealership, but that they would not cover the cost of towing at this time.
