5 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/26/2016

Takata recall hello, we called Honda on 5/31/16 to order a new passenger side airbag. At the time we were told that it would take a couple months to arrive. I called Honda customer service on 7/29/16 for an update and was provided with case #4880672. On either Monday or Tuesday 8/22-23, we received a call from fletcher jones Honda in chicago that the airbag we had ordered was in. We were told it would take roughly 3 hours to replace. I made an appointment for Friday 8/26 at 10:30am. When I arrived, I was told that they were also going to replace the driver's side airbag free of charge. I was told the service to replace the passenger side and driver's side airbag would be 4-5 hours. Around 3:15 I received a phone call that my car was ready, but they were not able to replace the passenger's side airbag because after they had opened everything up to put int the replacement bag, they could not find the parts. I was told I would receive a call from the service manager and as of today 9/6, I still have not. My main issues are: -I ordered the passenger side airbag on 5/31 and over 3 months later, still do not have the part -we are putting ourselves in harm's way by driving with a faulty airbag -I took off a day of work and waited 4. 5 hours on 8/26 for a service that wasn't even performed and I will have to go back to the city and do the same again. -no one has been able to give me any concrete information as to when the airbag should arrive. Thank you, suzanne torres sktorres@wisc. Edu 732-403-9571.

7 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2016

Takata recall. I got a notice about the passenger side air bag. I called to get it repaired but the dealer does not have the part and will not provide a loaner car. The only thing they suggested was to not let anyone ride in the front seat until they get the part and no one knows when that will be. School starts next week and I have 4 kids ages 7 to 13 that I have to drive to school. One child sits in the front seat. I do not have another car. How am I going to get these kids to school? not having anyone in the front seat is not a solution to this problem. I called Honda and they assigned a case worker and said they would call back someday but they could not say when but could be over a week.

8 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2016

"takata recall" earlier in the spring our Honda crv was part of the massive driver side air bag recall. Basically was told that if it deployed, it may kill us with tiny pieces of flying metal. We spent months dealing with Honda and rentals through them that we had to argue over and keep exchanging. Hours and hours of work that my husband took off so he could drive halfway across atlanta each time to deal with rentals and Honda. Finally got our car back early this summer. Yesterday I got a new recall notice from Honda. This time it's for our passenger side airbag. Basically the same thing, if it deploys it may kill you with metal fragments. This time when I called Honda to find out the deal I was told, "the part is on backorder. We will order it but we don't know when we will get it. Until we do we suggest that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger seat. " seriously, this is what they said. Nope they won't help us with a rental, just don't sit in the front because if you get in a wreck the airbag that is supposed to keep you safe may kill you with flying metal fragments. For our family of 4, this "avoiding the passenger seat" is not an option. With 2 booster seats in the back there isn't space for an adult to sit, so basically they've rendered our main vehicle unusable. But refuse to help us in any way. I've made multiple calls to Honda headquarters and have "tickets" in place to request alternate travel assistance (rental) but was told that they are, "pretty backlogged with requests right now so I don't know when they will get back to you. " seriously.

9 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2016

Takata recall: received a recall notice in April 2015 advising to not drive car until drivers side air bag was replaced. Honda provided a rental car until repairs were completed. (approx 3-4 weeks. ) July 2015 receive another notice that the side bag is needing replacement and that no one should sit in the passenger front seat until repairs have been made. The letter said late summer or early fall is the date repairs will occur. Called Honda and they said they do not provide alternate transportation for passenger seat issues and passengers should sit in the back. I told them that I have 5 members in my family and in a 5 passenger car, someone must sit in the front passenger seat. They told me they would assign a case number and someone would get back to me. That was 3 weeks ago and 6 phone calls to Honda and no one has gotten back to me at all. They even had the nerve to say that my case was expedited. It is not safe to drive this car this way and Honda should be required to provide alternate transportation until their car is made safe. How many deaths and injuries would justify this expenditure. Please help as I am not the only being treated this way by Honda, and it needs to change.

10 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/18/2016

Takata recall April 8th I brought my car into Honda for a repair due to the recall, received a rental. July 13th ray price Honda serviced the car and fixed the drivers side air bag July 17th the car was ready for pick up and I was informed that the passenger side airbag was not fix and the part would not be in till a later date. *** this was not communicated to me until my drivers side was fixed and ray price told me I had to turn in the rental vehicle per Honda and bring the car back into service at a later date July 17th I called Honda and reported the problem. I stated that I am extremely upset and that it is unacceptable to be given a vehicle that is malfunctioning. It is complete negligence that Honda is willing to put potential passengers at risk in the car knowing the airbags caused prior injury and even death. I am extremely angry that Honda is asking me to also accept liability of having a passenger in the seat because of this recalled item. If someone is in my car and is hurt or dies I am responsible and the court system could prove negligence on my behalf. ** work over the summer I transport children to different actives and not using the front seat is not an option when I have a full car load. I am a single individual that does not have access to another car and I refuse to accept this negligence and expect to hear from someone soon. My case number is 04840827.

14 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2010

My 19 yr. Old daughter was involved in an accident on 10-4-10 in which the entire front end of her 2008 Honda Cr-v ex-l appears to have been hit "head on". However, the accident occurred as she was making a left turn going north and a south bound driver ran a red light, swerved, and took out the entire front end of her car, spun her around and then hit another one. I'm writing because the only airbags to deploy were the passenger window bags (front and rear) and the steering wheel airbag. The "sensors" should have signaled the "driver side" bags to deploy. She suffered a severe concussion and we cannot determine what part(s) of the vehicle her head struck. The impact was severe enough to "break" the seat belt mechanism (it will not retreat back). The driver side appears to have taken the hardest hit from the impact. Thus, it's extremely disconcerting to me that the "driver side air bags" did not deploy. I've made the Honda dealership aware of this and my insurance company. No one seems to think it's a big deal. Sorry! I think it's a huge deal! I researched the safety standards of this vehicle extensively before purchasing it for her and safety was the #1 reason I purchased this particular automobile. Can you please help me?.

15 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2009

2008 Honda crv hit in driver & rear driver side doors by older full size Chevrolet pickup that was coming too fast over blind hill at about 30 to 35 mph (in a 25mph zone), unable to stop, and sliding on snow and ice. Honda driver was turning left & headed for shallow ditch that was straight ahead, to try to get out of way. No airbags deployed, even though car has side airbags. Driver hit head on either window or side column between front & back doors. Driver incurred $7000 in hospital costs for investigation of head, neck, back, & shoulder pain. Pain & headaches continue after 17 days. Car has not been repaired yet. It will be repaired at Honda dealer. Contact us if you want the parts. We will have them saved. Diane barlow.
