Power Steering Fluid problems of the 2010 Honda CR-V

1 Power Steering Fluid problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2015

The vehicle makes a straining sound, as if it were in first gear while driving. The steering makes a loud noise when turning in either direction. I had dealer check it and was told the hydraulic fluid pump needs to be replaced, fluid appears to be leaking.

2 Power Steering Fluid problem

Failure Date: 08/24/2015

Rack and pinion steering started leaking power steering fluid into the bellow that covers the inner tie rod ends. This car does not even have 50,000 miles on it. Certainly the steering system should last longer than this.

3 Power Steering Fluid problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2014

During a routine state inspection, the shop mechanic said power steering fluid was leaking and he believed it to be the rack and pinion. Over the next week, the steering wheel became abnormally difficult to maneuver . The vehicle was taken to the mechanic where they stated that there was a leak from the rack and pinion, which needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 25,580.

4 Power Steering Fluid problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2011

6/15/2011 mileage 17,546 1st instance. Power steering failed, due to fluid leak. Entire steering rack was replaced. 3/12/2015 mileage 53,690 2nd instance. Power steering failed, due to fluid leak. Entire steering rack was replaced.
