Steering "sticky". Intermittently steering feels stuck, resistant to during turns requiring extra force on steering wheel to break free both in low speed maneuvering and at highway speeds. Sticky steering associated by a soft clicking noise. Jim coleman Honda of clarksville MD checked the vehicle and confirmed the sticky steering and associated clicking noise. Their remedy to the sticky steering diagnosis was replacement of the eps steering rack and gearbox at a cost of $6,000. 00 they noted that this issue was the subject of a limited 2017-2018 recall 18v663 and more recently under 2022-2025 24v744. As result of stickiness the lka system no longer works properly.

Steering sticks/locks while driving requires excessive input. Feels like the lane departure is controlling the steering and fighting you for control. There is a recall for the same issue but our VIN is not included. Honda needs to re-evaluate to expand recall as this appears to apply to more than the original recalled VIN’s.

Components: forward collision avoidance, lane keeping support, electronic power steering. Incident: on 05/12/2026, upon vehicle startup, a total failure of the driver-assist safety suite occurred. Dashboard indicators displayed malfunctions for: adaptive cruise control (acc), forward collision warning (fcw), lane keeping assistance (lkas), and a "steering wheel malfunction" warning. The vehicle was inspected at greeley Honda on the same day (mileage: ~56k). The dealership confirmed the front radar sensor, located behind the emblem, is defective. Despite no evidence of external impact or damage, the dealership quoted $3,900 for a total replacement of the grille, emblem, and sensor. Safety risk: the failure has completely disabled the collision mitigation braking system (cmbs), removing the vehicle's ability to provide emergency autonomous braking. The accompanying "steering wheel malfunction" indicates an error in the electronic power steering (eps) torque sensor or lkas integration, which creates a risk of unpredictable steering assistance. These failures, combined with a cascade of distracting warning lights, pose an unreasonable safety risk during operation. Remedy sought: the dealership failed to explain the internal cause of failure or why a cosmetic grille replacement is required to fix a safety sensor. I am seeking a manufacturing investigation. American Honda has not offered a remedy for this critical safety component failure. This appears to be a premature failure of a non-wear item that renders primary safety systems inoperable. I have consented to share my contact information with the manufacturer to facilitate a resolution.

I am having a terrible problem with the steering wheel, keeping it in the lane along with hearing a loud noise when turning the steering wheel left to right. I only have 63,000 miles on this car. Took it to a dealership and they said it is the electric power assist system. I am finding out there is a recall with this very thing but that my car was not on the list. It should be. I am having this very problem. It is to dangerous to drive. Honda has a reputation for being a great safety car. This one is not. They said the charge would be $4500. This is not right. I am a [xxx] and [xxx]. I don't believe the manufacturer has been honest about this safety issue. . . They claim only 54 cars were affected. Please check into it for me please. After the low-pressure fuel pump recall repair was performed on my 2018 Honda Cr-v at doggett Honda med center on March 6, 2026, the vehicle began experiencing a serious and repeated loss-of-power condition. The vehicle suddenly loses power without warning. This happens with no clear pattern, at highway speeds and also at low speeds. The engine does not shut off, but the vehicle loses the ability to accelerate normally. In some situations, it does not have enough power to safely reach the shoulder, leaving me exposed in traffic. This has now happened multiple times and has become more frequent. I have already narrowly avoided at least three serious rear-end collisions while trying to move the vehicle out of traffic. Yesterday, the vehicle lost power again and a police unit had to escort me so I could safely move the vehicle to the side. When I turn the vehicle off and restart it, it temporarily returns to normal, but the problem keeps coming back. This makes the vehicle unsafe and unreliable for normal use. The vehicle is my work vehicle, and I depend on it for transportation. I am now unable to work normally or travel safely because I do not know when the vehicle will suddenly lose power again. This condition places my life and the lives of my passengers at risk. I contacted both the dealership and american Honda corporate. However, my safety concern has been minimized, and I was told that I would have to pay for diagnosis, even though this problem began after Honda performed recall work on the fuel system. I am reporting this because this is a serious safety issue. A vehicle that suddenly loses power in traffic, without warning, creates a real risk of collision, injury, or death. Honda should properly investigate whether the recall repair, fuel pump system, connectors, wiring, or related fuel delivery components caused or contributed to this dangerous condition.
The vechicle was in an accident were it went off the road into grassy area. Hitting several street signs and a power transformer. The safety features automatic braking or lane keep assistance did not engage. The driver tried to brake the car did not stop nor did it seem to slow down by the distance it traveled. The car is possiblity a total loss, currently under review by insurance company. There were 2 passenger in the vechicle during the accident. Driver and toddler in the rear. Police did come out to the scene. Insurance representative are going through thier claim process. The accident was 2 days ago. All safety feature prior to the accident were opperating proper to my knowledge. I would like to request the black box from the accident to gather more information on what may have happened. Insuarance companies is not going to obtain it.

Issues with 1. 5l turbo engine and fuel injector causing safety features to be disabled and flash on dashboard repeatedly, also heard of many issues with head gasket failure in this specific engine which could lead to driving in limp mode on a highway(20miles or less). These safety concerns could potentially be life threatening if these issues occur on a highway.
Loss of power and control of vehicle after getting several malfunction errors on instrument panel. Vehicle estates that several safety controls are switched off until problem is resolved. Eventually vehicle resets itself and works fine for weeks.
After vehicle was shut down for about 5 to 10 minutes while in a store, all lights on the dashboard came on with warnings that most all safety related systems had "problems" (tire monitoring system, emissions system, brake system, brake hold, power steering , variable steering assist problem, hill start assist, adaptative cruise control, collision mitigation, road departure) vehicle would otherwise run fine and could be driven home. Emergency brake still seems to operate. This has happened twice in the last six months and renders the vehicle less safe to operate without these systems fully functional.
I changed lanes without using my blinker and the car fought against me on the freeway it caused me fear and concern, I questioned dealer I was told it was okay by dealer he said there is nothing wrong with the vehicle.
To whom it may concern, I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2017 Honda Cr-v related to the fuel/propulsion system. While driving, the vehicle will suddenly stop accelerating. At the same time, multiple warning messages appear on the dash, including alerts that the driver assist system, cruise control, and brake system are not functioning, along with other system warnings. This issue happens without warning and has occurred multiple times. It creates a dangerous situation, especially at highway speeds or in traffic, since the vehicle loses the ability to accelerate and several critical safety systems appear disabled. I am very concerned that this may be a defect in the fuel/propulsion system or an associated electrical/control system that could pose a risk to myself, my passengers, and other drivers. Please advise on the next steps for inspection and resolution.

My vehicle has had a worsening issue with the steering wheel sticking, especially when driving on winding roads. It is most pronounced when the steering wheel is turned to the left. Instead of smoothly returning to center, the steering wheel sticks in the left position and has to be forced right to center or to turn back right. Obviously having steering that is stuck or that has to be forced can be dangerous, especially at highway speeds. It also sometimes makes a knocking sound when turned all the way to the left. I have not had the vehicle inspected yet, but I have contacted Honda and my local dealership about the issue and am able to bring the vehicle in for inspection. There have been no warning lamps, messages, or anything similar.
Vehicle is currently in the shop due to safety sensors and cameras. The car has less than 70k miles and is excellent condition. But when I started my car all the sensors did not work.
The lane keeping assist system problem contact your dealer keeps appearing on my dashboard when I start the car and pull away.
Always driving east my cruise control, lane keeping assist and other safety systems stop working. Cars behind me are not aware of my sudden slow down. The alert said to clean the plastic h in the grill. I have been to two Honda dealers and the problem persists. Honda corporate in California calls it radar blindness. Aware of problem but no fix. I feel it is sun reflection off of the plastic h in the grill as it’s always clean and only happens when I drive east bound. I didn’t realize I was buying a problem when I bought my crv. Please help.
February 5, the car infront of me swerved to avoid a 2x4 in the road and I tried to do the same but my lane assist beeped and took control and forced me to run it over now I am going through another insurance claim because my electrical system is broken now due to the new damage. Since my last accident, even my passengers can feel when the car resists my steering and when I try to correct it by turning the steering wheel slightly more, it just lets go and causes me to have to correct the over maneuver. I drive 60+ miles a day and I feel my car resist my steering too often, I do not feel comfortable. I purposely since my last accident don't even have my lane features turned on and it still over corrects.
Steering sticks and will not return to center without correction. I am told there is a recall for 2022 models for this same issue.
Windshield camera and all its functions does not work. The following systems do not work. Lkas acc cmbs ldw I drive 3 hours to work and back and not having these safety features is dangerous for me because my foot and ankle hurts to keep a consistent speed, and when I am drowsy the lkas helps me stay in my lane. All of these warning lights are on my dash. I bought this vehicle in 2018 and the lights have been on since 2024. I am just now learning that I could report this.

Yesterday, my car was working fine. This afternoon October 1, 2024, when I turned on the engine I saw a prompt “cmbs problem” on the screen. Warning signs/lamps lit up as well, 1. Adaptive control cruise problem, road departure mitigation system problem, collision mitigation system problem, and auto high beam problem. I have not contacted the dealership about this current issue because I plan to go to the dealership to do my oil change this coming Saturday 10/05/2024. Just an fyi, they still haven’t addressed my recall ( the 2017-22 fuel pump mtr saf recall exp2). At this time, no injury happened, but I am definitely scared of my safety using my car.

Last September my lane assistance caused me to hydroplane and spin out of control. My airbag was deployed and I was injured. I was on the outside left lane, the roads were a little wet from a past rain event, I felt the car run over a slick spot and its wasn't until my lane assist beeped and turned my wheel and I instantly began spinning, I hit a concrete wall. Prior to this I experienced my lane assist feeling sticky or like it drives to autosteer itself too much. I expressed this to my insurance and they said I couldnt prove it and did nothing about it. 2 weeks ago, my car braked to a complete stop because someone was on the sidewalk to the left and I was almost rear ended. Last week, the car infront of me swerved to avoid a 2x4 in the road and I tried to do the same but my lane assist beeped and took control and forced me to run it over now I am going through another insurance claim because my electrical system is broken now due to the new damage.
On [xxx], I parked on a slight incline at an open market. There was nothing wrong with the steering when I parked the car. It was dry and sunny. When I returned to the car an hour later, the power steering was out and all sensor lights were flashing: hill assist, lane assist, cruise control, brakes, tire pressure, emergency brake, and others I can't recall at this point. Someone was getting into their car next to mine and helped maneuver the car out of the spot so it could be towed. I am told by the dealer, the power steering rack needs to be replaced -- $4000. My car has 56k miles on it, has never been in an accident and has always and only been serviced by autonation Honda in clearwater. There appears to be a recall on this part but when I enter my VIN, it indicates the recall doesn't apply to my car even though it's a recall on 2018 crvs. The dealer indicates the part is backordered indefinitely and cannot provide timeline. I am waiting for Honda good will program to evaluate whether they will help with rental car and expense of repair. Meantime, I have no car and cannot conduct business or even evacuate if a hurricane comes through. It's been 2 weeks now with no help from the dealer. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Multiple warning/error messages are being displayed on the dashboard.
All warning signs come on at the same time on the dashboard. Car repair service explained that this is a known problem with crv and suggested that I take it to he dealer. I have disconnected and reconnected the battery and this worked in discontinuing the warning signs but this was a temporary fix since same problem reappeared within weeks. This has reoccurred several times since 2024. Appointment has been made with dealer since the danger is whether warning sign is legitimate or just an electrical problem. This happens when car is first started and prior to initial drive. Does not prevent use of the car.
Multi purpose camera failure that impacts the safety features in my vehicle. Many people have reported this, however Honda still hasn’t created a recall on it. Dealership wants $1900 to replace, but this is a safety feature how is this not on Honda to handle?.
Regularly receive loud alarms and errors when putting the vehicle in reverse that the lane departure warning system has failed and to see dealership. Error will last for around 10-20 seconds and then disappear. One dealership tried to apply a TSB directly associated with this issue which failed to fix anything. Dealerships have no idea what is causing the issue and are unable to fix the issue.
The steering grabs or feels stuck at all speeds.

On my 2023 Honda crv sport the steering wheel sticks, you have to constantly be correcting it. It is annoying and one could easily over compensate causing an accident.
While driving at highway speeds my steering wheel gets stuck to one side requiring manual assistance to move it back to center after turning.
Steering sticks at highway speeds, particularly around curves. While driving on the highway I noticed around curves that instead of the steering wheel straightening out on it's own (or with very minimal effort) the steering would stick and I had to force it out of that stick. It was very alarming at first and frankly terrifying with how badly it was stuck. I did have the lane keep assist on so I thought maybe it was that, however I have since been driving this vehicle without the lane keep assist and although it doesn't stick as badly, it does indeed still stick. This issue occurs nearly each time I am going around a curve, sometimes when I am making slight turning maneuvers like lane switches, and rarely while going straight. The exception to that last one is when I have the lane keep assist on, then sometimes it will stick even when going straight. Now, before you start thinkin that this is somehow user error and I am unaware of how these systems are supposed to work. I was a service advisor for Honda for several years, I have driven many Hondas and many other vehicles with these types of systems; this is not supposed to happen and this is not normal. I have driven this car for just over a year and put over 20k miles on it and there is a distinct difference between normal operation and when the issue occurs. Additionally, there is a metal-on-metal clunk and what I think sounds like a very slight grind when turning the steering wheel fully to the left and right that comes from the steering box and you can feel that the steering wants to push you back in to the opposite direction. I believe that there is a connection between the steering and the lane keep assist for this issue and that it's related to service bulletin 18-103. However, I have not yet had this vehicle diagnosed at the dealership since I no longer work at Honda and I do not want to pay their diagnostic fee.
Electronic power steering rack in bad/defective. Will not return to center naturally. Diagnosed by Honda dealership. I can no longer drive in a straight line. I'm constantly bouncing from line to line on the road. My tires are even wearing incorrectly because of this. They are so loud now. Currently it's not a safety risk but the more I drive it the worse it gets. It will eventually become a safety risk! yes, the problem has been reproduced by the dealer. I have been told part has been on order and is critical backordered with no eta. The also preformed an alignment check and a multi point inspection. No warning lights or messages. I found this problem just by driving my vehicle.
Steering sticks when going over any sort of lane departure. This is dangerous when exiting a tight offramp or coming on a tight onramp. Once the sterring wheel sticks it takes a second or two to unstick causing some near crashes for sure. Not able to get the car to replacte with a local Honda dealer went back and took the foreman for a ride and still was not able to replicate it either.
All electrical warnings spontaneously engaged on the panel; disabling cruise control and adaptive tools (emergency braking, lane warming, 3rd party vehicle encroachment, etc). The car drives fine. Has happened 6 times in the last 2 years. Either spontaneously resets when I turn the car off and then on, or I have to disengage the battery to reset everything.
Warning lights (lkas, collision mitigation, road departure assist and break system) suddenly went on as I was backing out of the driveway. No obstruction found on the vehicle upon checking. Cr-v was with 2328 miles on it. Informed the dealer of the issue and got it serviced immediately. I was informed that the multipurpose camera needs replacement. Service manager from the Honda dealer said that the vehicle is still drivable even with warning lights on and that the camera is on back order but the eta is unknown.
The problem is intermittent. The lane keeping assistance seems to cause the steering to become "sticky" while freeway driving. It becomes difficult to turn the steering wheel small amounts, like its stuck, and applying extra force to steer causes over correction. I can't really pinpoint at what times it happens, but I notice it most when driving on freeways at freeway speed.
