36 Seats problem of the 2018 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 12/01/2018

The seats are extremely uncomfortable and cause bottom and back pain. After driving for 30-40 minutes the driver's bottom becomes numb. This is a safety issue because the driver cannot attend to the road as effectively while being in extreme discomfort. The seats are not well-designed if they are causing the driver this much pain. Adjusting the seat in many possible positions does not eliminate this discomfort.

38 Seats problem of the 2017 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 05/01/2018

I've reporter to Honda dealer about seat and brake pedal squeaking when pressed several times when my vehicle was under warranty. They always said its normal wear and tear. Car only had 12,000 miles on it at the time. Fast forward to 30k miles, they finally greased the brake pedal and noise went away for another 10k but returned. I was then told its hydrolic brake so it's normal. But I know its not normal to have squeaking noise like that. Moreover, seat squeaking noise has gone worse now. I can literally not take the noise to the point I try not to move at all while driving. I was told this is normal behavior and if I want to replace it it'll cost me $$$$. This should've been covered under warranty and I have few other friends and coworkers with similar issues and they're also being told to deal with it. Adaptive cruise control is ok as long as you don't change the lane or someone in front of you doesn't change the lane. I was going 45mph one night when I had adaptive cruise control turned on. It was seeing the car in front of me and there was a red light coming up. Car in front of me decided to change lane and after that my car failed to recognize the car in front of me stopping for red light. I was at 25mph due to all cars slowing down but as soon as the car front of me changed lane, my car speed accelerated to 45mph and almost hit the car stopped at red light. I slammed the brake so hard to avoid the accident that night. My entire family was freaked out after that and stopped trusting adaptive cruise control.

39 Seats problem of the 2002 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/28/2018

The drivers seat is loose. It rocks back and forth when driving and when still. It is not solidly installed and can be shaken to the point where it looks like the seat can actually detach from its mounting. This is definitely a defect because there are many other people who are experiencing these same symptoms in their 2002 Honda Cr-vs.

40 Seats problem of the 2011 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/21/2018

1. With and w/o snow tires, no matter the weather or road conditions: strong hot rubber burning smell by back right wheel. D/t no baffle near muffler. This happens with short trips, free way or city trips 2. At one time would not shift down on hills. Or would engine would nearly die going up hills with ac radio on, and latterly chugged up hill this is related to the gear not shifting. This is a terrible feeling going up hill with nothing but two passengers and no load 3. Seats memory foam fails and flattens out , nearly 96000 miles 4. Seat belts fray in time, 5. Seat belts won't retract well , especially on drivers side 6. Tires routinely have outside wear, even with rotation through discount tire where they cross rotate. They are better than dealer 7. Dome light in front failed 8. Tachometer runs high like 3-4000 rpm this has happened since purchase Jan 29, 2011, but I will put todays date below re last question about mileage on vehicle I will put todays mileage even though happened through out ownership.

41 Seats problem of the 2002 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/13/2018

My 2002 Honda crv's front drivers seat has been rocking or moving slightly as I drive around. I went to get my crv inspected in virginia as is required every year, but was rejected. He said the seat has to be fixed, it rocks. It seems to me if it failed to pass the virginia state inspection, then it is a safety hazard. I went on the Honda owners club forum and saw that other owners had the same problem. I called the Honda recall center, but there has been no recalls nor campaigns regarding loose/rocking driver seats. It must be a safety issue if it failed the state inspection. I'd like for Honda to fix my seat so it does not rock with out charge. I have owned Hondas for about 25 years, now.

42 Seats problem of the 2017 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 12/29/2017

Driver side seat makes squeaky noise every time and everyday. Specifically from the right side. This occurred when car had only 6000 miles and dealership told me this is normal for cr v. It wasn't a lot but now it's a bothersome to deal with it. Even a slight move from right side will make the seat squeak like the there's something not properly aligned.

43 Seats problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 12/20/2017

I own a 2008 Cr-v it's at 95k mileage and both headlights on low beams went dim. Can't see the road at all. I had to turn the high beams on to get home. This happens while car is parked or driving. Constant problem. The drivers seat will not move forward, motor dying ??.

47 Seats problem of the 2004 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/01/2017

Car caught fire while parked. I did not receive a recall or warning notice. The electrical cables from driver door looks melted and fire spread quickly. Firefighters had to be called and they had to wet the car and disconnect the battery. This mode vehicle and year shows 5 open recalls, but when I search by VIN# it shows no open recalls. I was lucky not to be driving the car.

49 Seats problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 06/01/2017

Cr-v lx 3. 2l cvt transmission14,000 miles I switched from a 2007 Toyota rav4 to a 2015 Honda Cr-v, never considering that I'd deeply regret the decision and be pining for my old rav seats, which were quite comfortable. Sadly, I didn't discover the problem with these incredibly uncomfortable seats until I'd already purchased the car from a private seller. Now I suspect that the low mileage had to do with the uncomfortable seats. There is zero lumbar support or meaningful adjustment on the passenger front seat so it's truly like sitting in a torture device. After 15-20 mins of driving my lower back starts to scream, my butt goes numb and I experience tingling and numbness in my leg. After 30-60 minutes of driving develop a sharp pain in my thoracic region. I've attempted numerous work-arounds in order to make a 13-hour car drive, which I was dreading because of the problems I was experiencing with the seats--just driving around town. The thought of facing an entire day in the Honda seemed like a torment. I put a full-seat pad of foam under a sheepskin seat cover. Result: softer but still causing back pain. Then, I put a memory-foam seat on top of the sheepskin cover and inserted a small inflatable lumbar support from relax the back under my lumbar area. With enough tweaking of this arrangement, I'm able to drive without too much misery, but I'm furious that I've had to do this much jerry-rigging on a $30k car. From all the other complaints I've discovered, online, one would think that Honda would have the good sense and common decency to correct the myriad problems with their seats, but apparently they're content to have us owners rolling down the road, writhing in pain.

50 Seats problem of the 2017 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 06/01/2017

Driver side cushion on upper seat has collapsed. This affects the operation of the side air bag. The collapsed support also makes driving uncomfortable and potentially a driver safety risk as well.

51 Seats problem of the 2017 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 05/20/2017

Driver's seat has collapsed on left side right below the air bag tag. Took it back to dealer. They know about the problem. They did a quick fix, but it did not work. Does this problem affect the function of the air bag? I bought the vehicle 4/28/17, and the seat has been messed up for about two months.

Failure Date: 05/14/2017

53 Seats problem of the 2017 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/26/2017

My mother and I traveled to visit my daughter that lives 3 1/2 hours away. My mother sat in the passenger seat for the 7 hour trip up and back. The amber or yellow light on the dash "passenger airbag off" was lighted the entire time that my mother was sitting in the passenger seat. Admitted she only weighs 100 lbs and is 86 years old, but she is clearly an adult and should be protected by an airbag deploying in case of a serious crash. The airbag deploying in a crash could literally mean the difference between life and death.

54 Seats problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/22/2017

I have brought car back 4 times for the vibration problem. Last visit the shop finally acknowledged a problem bulletin 15-046. Car still shakes when idling.

55 Seats problem of the 2010 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/20/2017

Drivers side seat assembly broke and defective. A seat assembly should not break especially on the drivers side. The metal seat assembly broke on drivers side. Dealer service rep said they have seen a few these seat assemblies breaking on the Honda crv 2010 model year. This is extremely dangerous as when you go to accelerate the seat pushes back and your foot looses control of the accelerator. This should be a recall or at least a technical bulletin.

56 Seats problem of the 2002 Honda CR-V

57 Seats problem of the 2016 Honda CR-V

58 Seats problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/01/2017

At a stop or red light car vibrates crazy. As soon as I accelerate from 0-40 the transmission vibrates sounding like ur going over a metal bridge. I let go off the gas petal the vibration stop I accelerate happens again.

59 Seats problem of the 2016 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 11/01/2016

After spending 20 minutes driving I get numbing pain in both legs. I don't have issues sitting on anything else or other cars. I have visited a chiropractor numerous times and he doesn't see anything misaligned in my back. I have tried various pillows to help aliviate the pain with no success. My wife usually has to drive for me.

60 Seats problem of the 2016 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 10/01/2016

The inside of my 2016 Cr-v smells like gas, my former 2015 had the same problem. The dealership has no clue what is wrong, they told me to switch brand of gas, it did nothing. Also the seats vibrate while idling, again the dealership doesn't know what to do.

61 Seats problem of the 2006 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/04/2016

Honda Cr-v leaks rainwater onto floors of vehicle. An inch of water in the passenger compartment makes it dangerous to operate pedals which become slippery from footware, water damage to fire extinguisher and other safety equipment stored on floor for times of emergency. Many, many complaints from other Cr-v owners experiencing the same problem online. I dried out the carpet, it rained again and another inch of water inside the vehicle. If mildew/mold grows this becomes a serious health hazard jepordizing anyone riding in the vehicle, especially those with compramised immune systems.

62 Seats problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/23/2016

My car vibrates horribly at rest while in gear at a stop light, shakes so bad I have to put it in neutral. Something rattles under my tail gate, I had it looked at, they said its a partial recall that hasn't been fixed yet. When I back up and put it in drive, my transmission gargles and my car shakes before it goes. It constantly shakes on the highway, ive had it realigned and tires balanced twice in 3 months. This car is awful.

63 Seats problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/04/2016

I have four issues. First, my power steering assembly needs to be replaced. It is leaking and will cause more problems. I see on many sites where this issue is very prevalent in 2007 Cr-v's. Second, the interior lighting does not work correctly. Only the back inside lights come on when the doors open; the front drivers inside light only comes on when pushed; the front passengers inside light does not work at all. Third, the back passenger side door will not lock. I am not able to lock it manually or remotely. It locks and pops right back open. I see many complaints online with the locks on 2007 Cr-v's. Fourth, the tpms light stays on.

65 Seats problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 06/04/2016

In every statement/complaint at the service center, I always stated that the front seats vibrate when the engine is on and in gear. After reviewing sb 15-046, the initial repair in 2016 was for driving mode 1. On the second repair in 2017, the technician performed driving mode 2 repair without notifying me via phone or in person about the repair in accordance with the sb 15-046. Sb 15-046 states, for driving mode 2 update notes: -you must make sure the service advisor has reviewed the customer information statement for driving mode 2 with the customer before the software update is performed. -verify that the service advisor has noted on the customer information statement that he or she has reviewed the customer information statement for driving mode 2 with the customer. -the noted customer information statement must be retained for future records and attached to the repair order before doing the software update, as this software may have a small impact on fuel economy. All of the notes on the sb 15-046 were skipped when Honda of serramonte was repairing my car. In the diagnosis section on page 6 of sb 15-046. you must only perform the repair based on customer concerns. everything performed on the car or comments from the technician is record in the service invoice. To this day, I was never informed of the driving mode 2 update in accordance with sb 15-046. Nor, did I sign the customer information statement because the service invoice from Jul. 1, 2017 does not mention any customer information statement from sb 15-046.

66 Seats problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 06/04/2016

2015 Honda crv front seat vibrates. It was supposed to fixed in accordance to TSB 15-046. The vibrations is still apparent after 20k miles later. When my crv is stopped with vehicle in gear (at a stop sign or red light). I took it back to the dealership and the technician a marking the issue as normal vibrations. This is just another way for Honda not taking responsibility for the poor engineering. I am very concerned that the vibrations will eventually loosen up the seat bolts. There are a few videos of 2015 Honda crv front seat vibrations on youtube.

67 Seats problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/15/2016

Vehicle stopped and idling while in gear, vibration felt throughout the cabin. To the point where it is immediately observable, distracting, and could possibly give me a headache on longer stop-and-go trips. Contacted Honda consumer affairs and they had dealer perform the applicable fixes but issue remains. Dealer claims they can't feel the vibration, however, they aren't in the car as long as I am (or are trying to cover the problem). Honda claims they can do nothing else but they will inform me of any fixes in the future. Also mentioned that I should report this issue elsewhere as they can no longer help me at this time. Per their suggestion, I'm reporting this here.

68 Seats problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 12/15/2015

We purchased a new Honda crv 2015 December of 2015. The same week we took the car home, we noticed a very strong vibration at idle when the car is in gear, for example, when stopping at a red light. The vibration is so strong that it feels as if one is sitting in a 'massaging chair'. We (my wife and I) have gotten dizzy and nauseated from the vibration. We notified the dealership and american Honda immediately. Since then, the dealership attempted to repair the car 5 times and was unsuccessful. I then requested them to buy the car back and they denied it. They even said that they were not going to repair my car anymore for the same issue. The last time I took the car to the dealership was Saturday February, 13 2016. In the repair order, the dealership clearly states that the vibration was present after the repair.

69 Seats problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 10/12/2015

Honda Cr-v 2015 vibration . Last year I purchased a 2015 Honda Cr-v and as with most other owners, it has a bad vibration issue while at a stop in drive mode with foot on the brakes. I also vibrates at low speeds between 40 -50 mph and around 70 mph. I has been in the shop 4 times but still vibrates while stopped in the drive mode (in gear with foot on brake). I have filed a complaint with Honda corp and they said even with the 4 suggested repairs which has already been preformed on my car by the local Honda service center, this will not stop the vibration issue and that Honda has no other known fix to stop the vibration issue and that they will not replace the car. The local Honda service center verbally acknowledges the vibration issue but refused to put it on the service report that there is still a vibration issue. I see all the post from other owners with the same issue. This a distraction and I consider it a safety issue as one, time while I was setting at a red light, it started vibrating and while I was distracted by the seat and car vibrating, the truck behind me blew his loud horn and I almost ran the red light that had changed while I was distracted. I know there was a class action law suit but I do not know the status of it. They had to know about the problem prior to sending the 2015 Honda Cr-v to the dealers, but nobody informed the buyers of this issue.

70 Seats problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/08/2015

Bought a Honda because of the safety and mpg rating, unfortunately, after 20-30 minutes of driving same, the blood circulation to my legs was totally cut off, making my ability to drive safely questionable, not to mention extremely miserable. Bought several cushions which have helped on short distances, leaving me to conclude that there must be some sort of protrusion or defect embedded in the driver's seat causing part of my anatomy to go numb. After reviewing other complaints on this site, a question has been raised that it could possibly be the vibration of the vehicle that is causing this problem, rather than a defect in the construction of the driver's seat. Honda corporation has opened a case on the problem and is scheduled to inspect same. Thought I would post this after hearing a report on cbs news today that car-makers are fully aware of the faulty construction of driver's seats in vehicles these days which are breaking easily upon impact causing fatalities, and Honda was mentioned as being one of them in spite of its 5-star safety ratings. I can't tell you how disappointed I am of my selection of what I thought, and what the experts reported, was a high-quality and well-made vehicle by Honda. I can't understand why they would make a vehicle that will last for years mechanically, and not address the vibration issues and inferiority of the interior seating; which will only jeopardize its high-standard reputation in the automobile industry. Hopefully, after Honda addresses both of these issues, I will re-gain my confidence in the safety and quality of their vehicles again.
