Warning Problems of Honda CR-V - part 2

Took my Honda crv 2021 ex in because all of my warning lights (critical failure) were going off as I was driving. All safety features were failing including awd control, braking, sensors, cruise control, etc. They replaced the battery and tested the alternator. They reset the system and said it was fixed. I picked mine up today, drove it for 10 mins on the highway and then hit the "main" button on the stearing wheel to turn on the cruise control. As soon as I did that, all of the warning lights came on at the same time and the systems started to fail again. This is a hazard and could cause an accident at any moment. In reviewing the Honda forums, this is a massive problem with hundreds of Honda crv ex 2020-2022 models. I'm 7000 miles over my warrant and Honda won't look at it. However, it is directly their problem and my car is only 2 years old.

Issue related to Honda sticky steering problem. Problem is being investigated in over 530,000 2022-2023 Honda civic, 2023 Honda Cr-v and 2023 accura integra vehicles. I own a 2023 Honda crv hybrid and would like to report that I am experiencing the same issues with sticky steering and am adding my concern to the list of other car owners with similar issues. I hope that a recall will be instituted to fix this serious safety problem/defect. It is my understanding that the NHTSA has now upgraded the investigation and look forward to a speedy resolution to fix the problem. Honda issued a TSB 23-037 back in July which told dealers to replace the electronic power steering gearboxes on 2022-2023 civics if customers complained about sticky steering. A recall or similar order needs to be established to fix same issue with 2023 Honda crv's.

When I drove the vehicle at highway speed 60-70 around a curve stretch, the steering appeared to be restricted like as if the road assistance is kicking in but I was not crossing another lane. It is pretty consistent. I sort of disregard it but I started to noticed recently online a lot of similar complaints. So I took it in to the dealer 2/26/24 they ordered a part #53620-3d5-a14. The dealer couldn't give me a timeline when the part will be in and fixed. My daughter normally drives the vehicle and she have said it's been ongoing for a while.

The actual component or system is unknown. The vehicle is available for inspection. The safety issue is that the vehicle will drift into another lane even though both green lane indicators are illuminated posing a risk to myself and other drivers. The dealer mechanics stated that they could not verify or reproduce the problem. I reported the issue to Honda USA but they stated that they had no technical staff available that could provide information on the subject and that I would have to go back to the dealer. The dealer mechanics were unable to detect or resolve any problems with either system despite multiple attempts. Both the lka and ldw error lights with instructions to "see dealer" had come on multiple times before the safety incidents. On a possibly related note, the back up guidance system does not work on occasion and when that happens, the navigation system is very slow to come on. The navigation system comes on eventually after about 2 blocks of driving. I asked the dealership if they could check the software or perhaps any ram memory that may exist as the problem seems to be related to a slow system response which would explain why the system checks out ok when analyzed by the dealer mechanics because the systems may seem to be working properly when the vehicle is parked but not working within their design parameters. They stated that there was no way to check the software or memory. The problem has occurred several times to date but I am only able to list one date on the form so I used 11/17/2023.

Purchased my car in July new. In August I got a cbms warning for emergency brake system failure. Took it in and they said the front camera failed and needed to be replaced. It’s been on backorder since August 23. Because of this all the safety features including lane assist had to be turned off because the steering wheel would randomly jerk even when I was within the lane lines. Turned off the safety features and around 10,000 miles the steering wheel started clicking and aggressively jerking to the right or left while driving similarly to how it jerked when the safety features were on, even though they were already turned off from the previous steering wheel issues. Brought it to the dealership and they said the eps rack failed and the care was unfit to drive. They put me in a rental since two safety issues occurred in the vehicle.

Adas sporadically works. It constantly turns off and on. Have taken it to dealer, codes are cleared, camera is cleaned, and am told that should fix the problem. Within 5 blocks of leaving dealership, the problem comes back. The next solution according to them is replace the camera for $1800. This is a safety issue. The safety features are unreliable. I have also researched online and there are many Honda owners reporting this same problem.

Lane keep assist, adaptive cruise, collision mitigation control, and other safety features are unavailable. Problem has been confirmed by independent service center. Has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. No prior warning lamps until all warning lamps come on. Appears to be related to fuel injector failure code but the mechanic is not certain. I wonder if this is related to the fuel/oil contamination issue that this vehicle was part of a recall for.

When I was driving on highway when moving from texas to indiana, about 11 warning lights were suddenly on. After sending my car to a local vehicle and mechanic autocenter, the vehicle has been detected code p0172 and p0304 issues which trigger check engine light one along with another 10 warning lights, including turning off cruise control and off-road detection systems. Both my local Honda dealer and mechanic auto center diagnose it as fuel injector faulty and warned me not driving it on highway for potential risk.

Lane departure correction will occur when you are no where near the line; this has resulted in over correcting steering by the car and has almost caused wrecks.

There are a few safety issues I've experienced multiple times while driving this car. To the best of my knowledge, there haven't been any warning lamps or indicators on the dash related to these issues. When driving, the car will activate the emergency braking system, braking incredibly hard at freeways speeds and street driving speeds even though there is nothing near or close to the front of the car. The car has braked so intensely that items fly around the car and that both my son and I have experienced back, neck, and shoulder pain from the unexpected/severe braking. The other safety issue I've experienced is the lane departure/keeping sensors going off on the dash and the car pulls itself out of the lane. It seems like the car thinks I've departed the lane and is trying to pull me back into the lane, but, in reality, I am in the lane and the car is pulling itself into the next lane (sometimes even when another car is next to me or approaching). This is a safety concern since it causes swerving and my car could crash into another car or a lane divider if I didn't react so quickly to overpower the automatic lane departure. It's also a recurring issue to have to fight the car to keep it in the lane and makes for very tense driving. The last issue is an electrical one, I believe, related to the infotainment panel. The power on the infotainment system goes off unexpectedly while driving. It sometimes will not power on during start up. If it turns off while driving, sometimes I have to stop, turn off the car, and restart it to get it working again and other times it reboots itself after a minute or a few. All of these issues have happened countless times, as long as I've had the car. I've had it inspected and during the most recent inspection (sept 2024) they asked me to come in to drive the car so that the issues would be reproduced while the mechanic was sitting in the passenger seat. I was able to reproduce the issues while the mechanic was in the car with me.

While driving on the interstate I started experiencing a sensation that the lane departure/lane assist was attempting to veer me off the road to the left. After turning off all assist features the car continued to steer me off the road. While traveling in particular at higher speeds, on the interstate, it proceeded to get worse. Before traveling for 10 hour drive I took my car in for an oil change and turn off all of the features, November 21, 2023. I described my issue and was informed that it was an issue with the steering rack not the features. My car has been at the dealership since that day. No updates from Honda.

Road departure mitigation error see dealer followed by lane departure error see dealer when making sharp left or right out of a parking space or backing out of a parking space and making hard left turn or right turn. There are numerous comments on Honda blogs and reddit but the local dealership pohanka Honda of salisbury says they can't fix it unless it shows an error- online it looks like the rdm software and camera and sensor get confused when starting and making hard left or right turn - it does not happen anytime during the drive and I drive 1000 miles a week and in and out of car 15 to 20 times a day and it can happen as much as 4 to 5 times when starting - so it is intermittent- they gave me a loaner 2025 Honda crv non hybrid and no issues and my wife just bought a 2026 Honda crv non hybrid and no issues. From what I see is local dealers are not reporting it to Honda corporate as they cannot find an error code and just write it up as a software glitch- so if no one is reporting it from the dealerships Honda will not know how many vehicles are having this issue and won't find a fix - says there has been a steering box recall on some hybrids but not this VIN, also says it can be the sensor or sensor brace or the camera and finally the software , highly irritating since I am in the car so many hours a day - regular drivers to a work location and back home may never have this issue - I have gps in my car and a video clip of the error and can show you both - also there was a service bulletin regarding this issue when backing and not sure that software was updated in my car- I was told no errors , all software is up to date and picked the car up 6:30 pm 10 15 and by 1:00 pm 10 16 the error showed . Please help me as it has been August 2023 with this issue and may dealership visits.

Lane keeping/departure function could easily lead to an accident imo. 1. Operation is either somewhat random, or uses complex rules to determine how to behave in differing circumstances, making it feel unpredictable. 2. Steering correction force can last too long, resulting in over-correction (could push you into oncoming traffic). 3. "normal" setting is virtually useless—no correction until one is almost half into opposing lane. 4. On a road with no outside line, the feature could easily push the car off the road.

Sticky steering constantly , started within the first few weeks after purchasing the vehicle. And also the road departure mitigation system has come on 4 times in 3 months.

2 issues: 1. Automatic emergency braking started braking randomly when there was no danger at all. 2. Got lane departure warning a few times, when the vehicle actually stayed in the lane.

Warning lights on the dashboard are all going on at once. Something like this happened intermittently with the adas system; occasionally they would all report a malfunction. When turning off the car and restarting the car, they would go away. Now all warning lights are going off at once. This poses a safety hazard because any real problem is obscured by the cacophony of false alarms. Other folks have reported this issue.

Hi - thanks for your attention. I am reporting an issue that have been affected many Honda Cr-v owners' safety: all warnings lights on dash like christmas tree, while driving slowly on private driveway on 07/03/2023. No particular reasons we could figure out: only about 21,000 miles and < 3 years; no blocking of the sensors, good battery, no wire issue by eye inspection. Following some online suggestions, rebooted in accessory mode, not working; reconnected/disconnected battery, worked. However, it has been reported this issue will come back again in a short period, in an unexpected way, which poses significant safety issue. There are many online discussions, but Honda has not provided a solution for these severely defective vehicles, which surely has caused severe accidents and caused panic during highway drive. My 2015 crv suddenly had all the crash warning/adaptive cruise control/lane keep assist lights flashing…very alarming…so we brought it to white rock Honda for to find out what was happening?? they diagnosed our multi-purpose camera is faulty. $2193 to repair…plus $197. 12 yesterday to diagnose!? we have done nothing to cause this substantial/expensive repair. We are shocked as we are long-time Honda owners, (3 Hondas in the past 20 years) and have never experienced anything like this. ? now we are in danger all of our safety features no longer functioning. ? this this is a huge hardship for us at this time as I just began a gradual return to work this week after an illness. I need to safely rely on this car every day for my long commute from surrey to richmond. ? so as mentioned, this is a hardship that we had no part in causing – and we feel is entirely unfair. We have contacted Honda customer relations. We have forwarded the diagnostic receipt, the situation is now in mediation. -yes, available for NHTSA inspection.

I completed an oil change on Saturday may 13, 2023 with morehead Honda, newburgh NY. On may 14, 2023, while operating my 2018 Honda crv all the lights for the adas illuminated on the dash board of the vehicle and continued to cycle through continously. The lights are as follow: hill start problems, collision mitigation problems, brake system problems, power steering problems, vsa problems, steering problems, tpms problem. Brake hold problems, adaptive cruise problems, electrical brake problems, brake hold system problems, road mitigation problems, emissions system problems and power steering problems I returned the vehicle to morehead Honda dealership and a diagnostic was performed. The diagnostic results were excessive fluid to injector and excessive air to brake which involves the compressor and the fuel injector. This is a clear manufacturer defect which is a safety issue. I also conducted a query on the nhsta and there are recalls listed for issue for 2018 Honda crvs, however my vehicle VIN was not included.

The body control module has failed. Since all of the safety features in/on the vehicle are monitored by this part is the vehicle actually safe to drive? that is the question I have posed to 3 dealers. None have been willing to say that it is absolutely safe. The part is on national backorder with no availability date provided. Can you tell me that the vehicle is safe to drive?.

I have owned my Honda since it had 11 miles on it, brand new in the parking lot I took it home. I’ve noticed in the past few months since September of 2022 ish the lane assist, and lane departure do not work now. Out of 100 times I drive the lane keep only works maybe 5/100 times. I called the dealership explaining how it’s a safety concern if it ever defected. And it’s not keeping me in the lane or even trying to read the lines on the road. The dealer wanted $199 just to look at it. I ended up watching a youtube video, disconnecting and cleaning my battery, resetting all systems and computer. It fixed it for a day, then stopped working again. I haven’t taken it to the dealer because I can’t afford $199 hair for them to look at it. Also, my car is four years old and I’ve had fluid leaking out of the bottom of my car since I bought it. My mechanic and I both thought it was an oil leak. Then assumed it was factory oil from the new engine or the ac unit. Well at my last state inspection Honda wanted $1200 because my right front strut was leaking fluid. Which explains the wobbliness and uneven drive in the vehicle. I just had my tires replaced and the vehicle drives very unstable. I spent $250 on the part online and replaced it myself and it has been corrected but now I need a $130 alignment from Honda. Not been in an accident but I grew up in a mechanic family. I do all of my own maintenance with a family member on a lift.

I am really going through a very rough patch after buying the Honda crv in may end 2023 ex-l model , 23/Honda/cr-v/ awd ex-l : warnings concerns / VIN: 2hkrs4h76ph424435. Following up from the 3 -month , I purchased the vehicle , but no respite from Honda dealer & Honda company, even filed the case with american Honda : case # 14016076 but they are not providing any solution and referring to Honda dealer and Honda dealer referring to Honda company and I m missed as no body is taking the responsibility. I am seeing an unwanted warning, when I unpark my car, and there is no resolution at the Honda dealer and Honda company itself. Warnings which abruptly came when my new Honda crv got unparked . Details as below "lkas: lane keeping assist system problem. See your dealer. ". "road departure mitigation system problem. See your dealer. ", please help me to reolve this issue, if we paid out what is the intended price, but we are not getting the benefits/comfort what is expected and causing us the multiple trips to Honda showroom and mental agony giving me sleepless nights, if I spend too much for a new vehicle, still getting these kind of discomfort and uneasiness. It seems that customers should be compensated for all these unnecessary troubles and unwanted warnings giving an illusion which makes the driver unformatable which can lead to accidents.

Whenever it snows, the radar placement on the front grill of the vehicle gets covered in snow/ice, etc. And all advanced safety features are shut off while driving. This has been reported to Honda before over the last 2 years to no avail. This is a safety hazard and also very dangerous while driving in inclement weather.

The steering moves left or right unexpectedly. A jerking motion is felt and a clunk noise is heard. The symptoms and offered solution are identical to Honda service bulletin 18-103. Supposedly our vehicle (VIN) is not included in the known recall for this safety hazard. We believe they have not identified all 2018 crv's with this faulty steering box. Neither the Honda dealership nor Honda America have been responsive to this safety issue.

In February, 2023 all of the warning lights came on my 2018 Honda crv, including brake failure, lane departure and many more, making me afraid to drive the car. Dealer wants to replace fuel injectors, but none are available! I’m afraid my car is a danger to myself and others on the road, since all the warning lights continue to appear. Help!!.

While driving (no other vehicles present) it will display warning on dash. It will slam on brakes and swerve outside of lane. This causes the vehicle go off road or in another lane. The warnings will then disappear. It also advises to see dealership. It has been to the dealerships within first two weeks of purchase. They have not been able fix issues.

Since 2019, my indicator lights come on all at once, and despite it going to the dealership multiple times, it has yet to fixed, and they continue to charge me for diagnostics. Research shows that many Honda owners experience the same thing. Now I'm being told it's my fuel injectors, which is baffling. They will not address this systemic mechanical defect.

While in line to park the car in the del Mar fairgrounds, (san diego, CA) after a 25-minute ride and 59 f degrees outside, main display start sending all type of 'problem' messages, one after another, as follow: - brake hold system problem, - power steering system (eps) problem, - vehicule stability assist (vsa), - hill start assist, - adaptative cruise control, - collision mitigation system, - road departure mitigation system, - electric parking brake, - tire pressure monitor, - emissions system, brake system. Despite all messages, the car keeps running and is able to go off and start again. Perhaps, the electric parking brake may prevent you to go if connected, since you have no control of it (happened once). This is the second time in two weeks that this failure occurs. It may or may not be related to another consistent issue regarding the side display (the one used for radio control, brightness, car setup, etc. ) which becomes unstable and change/beep with no control from one screen to another, starting with the brightness control. This case requires the car to turn off and restart, solving the issue for a couple of weeks, and up to two months. I'm writing down this complaint because other owners express the same issue in forums, with no official statement from Honda so far. Countermeasures recommended by other users are: exchange the battery for new one drive around and apply brakes firmly. The above fixed the issue for me. A cell video of this issue is available. All light indicators are turning on, making my dash look like a christmas tree. Happens atleast 3 times a month.

All warning lights in addition to items checked above keep flashing and associated systems are not working placing me and my passengers in grave danger having become reliant on these systems to keeping safe. Also, the car will not shut downs unless I press the power button twice on hold it down for the car to shut off. Basically every system controlled buy the computer is not working suddenly. Checked the internet and many car owners are facing the same issues. Taking the car to the dealership tomorrow for diagnostics since I gave extended warranty. This is not the first time this has happened and previously it was blamed on a 2 years old battery.

I bought this car on April 30,2022 for $30,000. It had18,0000 (plus) miles. Within 6 months the idiot lights would come on and all safety controls were cancelled. When this first happened, I was frightened that I would be involved in an accident or the car would just shut down. I called a dealer close by and was told by their service manager to take it to an auto store, have them put it on their computer to tell me what was wrong. I did that. Was told I needed an oil change. Had the oil change and things were ok for about 4 days when all lights came back on again scaring the h__l out of me. Had a private mechanic check it out and was told it needed an oxygen sensor. Then the car wouldn't start. Turned out the battery was low, so I replaced the battery. Warning lights did not go on for a couple of days. I then went to the local Honda dealer who told me to bring the car in and for $190 they would use their computers to tell me what was wrong. Can you imagine what chutzpa that takes? they, knowing what the problem was yet charging me to tell me. I am now out of state. Took vehicle into closest dealership for oil change, tire rotation. Told service of dashboard lights, what I had done so far, and asked them to figure out problem. They said I needed $1500 fuel injectors which would have been covered by the warranty but that ran out on length of time. The car only had 30,000 miles but was 6 years old. Suggested I ask Honda for an extension of the warranty to cover costs. The lights are still continuously on now. All safety features are essentially off. I am afraid to drive it in fear of having an accident. I have contacted America Honda for an extension of the warranty and will attach that timeline and phone calls to/from them. The reason for doing this is that I do not believe installing new fuel injectors will fix this problem. I think it is in the computer system itself. And I am in danger of having a crash. 09.

This problem has happened several times. All of the system warning lights activate. Electronic emergency brake, driver assist, tire pressure, lane departure, emergency collision warning etc. Etc. Etc. Approximately nine total. None of these features work after the system lights activate. If the emergency brake and other features won’t work it is a safety issue ! the only way to reset these features is to unhook the battery for approx 5 minutes. I’ve complained to the dealer with no solution. After the system is reset it lasts for 3 or 4 weeks and then starts again. This problem started approx 6 months ago.

As I have been driving on roads which have construction my car has been stopping out of nowhere and saying it was out of the lane, this has almost resulted in near 2 collisions. I fear one day I will actually be hurt or hurt other drivers as sometimes instead of stopping it jolts to the other lane. The camera in the back sometimes pops up on the screen as I’m driving and it makes it incredibly hard to focus on driving.

Auto braking system - yesterday at night while driving at 45mph the auto braking system activated by itself inspite of no obstacles anywhere near me and the vehicle came to a complete standstill in the middle of the highway. I was lucky there was no vehicle behind me else I was for sure going to be rear ended. Lane keeping assistance system - the lane keeping assistance activates itself even though it has been turned off. The vehicle forces me to stay in lane many times when there is a change in traffic pattern and also when you cross over a line just to stay safe from a vehicle that is crossing over a line on one of your sides. This is dangerous.

Dashboard lights come on while driving, emissions problems, lack of power and engine light flashing . When I start it 2 out 3 times can feel a light vibration and has vibrated while driving.
