1 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2015 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 08/24/2020

2015 Honda Fit (with approx. 24k miles). Battery will lose charge after car is not used / sits for three (3) to four (4) days with all lights / radio / accessories turned off. Battery has been replaced three times, most recently August 2020. Replacement battery is properly sized for the vehicle. The electrical issue is causing a parasitic drain on the battery. Dealer reps have stated this is a well-recognized problem with the Fit model. Recommendation is that the car be driven at least 10 to 15 miles every day or 2nd day. The recommendation drive the vehicle every day / 2nd day is not only expensive in terms of gas costs but also needlessly contributes to pollution and (perhaps by design) early vehicle obsolescence. This important safety defect is most likely caused by a defective electrical load detector (eld) unit in the fuse/relay box. This eld reads the amperage load directly from the battery and sends a varied voltage signal to the pcm which regulates the signal to the alternator. The eld is directly connected to the pcm. The pcm is connected to the alternator, not the eld. The eld monitors the amperage requirements and informs the pcm as to what to do. The eld will vary the output between . 1 to 4. 8 volts to the ecu. This reference voltage is what tells the ecu to increase or decrease the field strength in the alternator. As the current is ramped up or down the eld ratchets the output voltage to the pcm to compensate for the load. I was told that a Honda bulletin stated: symptom: the car will not start after sitting for a week. Probable cause: the eld is faulty or has a faulty solder joint. Solution: - replace the under hood fuse/relay box. This is not covered by warranty. Honda motors should be required to recall these cars to fix the eld / pcm parts / alternator computer program and up size the batteries to handle the parasitic draw.

3 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2015 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 04/09/2016

My assist stability system is defected. . I had my car 2 years as of Dec 15, 2015. The first problem 4 months after bought it noise in the engine. . Now from Dec 2, 2018 to january22, 2018 in this short period of time I had all this work done to that defective car which gaplin Honda dealership located at 11151 laurel canyon, mission hills, CA knew all about, because if the service director steve would not have ordered all this work to be done and the assist stability system lights are still on as we speak. Let me tell you all the work done in a 50 day period (that's ridiculous) a brand new . Battery sensor (I paid) a new Honda battery,(I paid) a new alternator( told them I was not @#$% paying because you know its a defect) they said they, cleared pcm ecm, tighten ground connectors if needed, installed powertrain control unit(they know I wasn't paying , they text me "you don't have to pay " bs . The problem still exist all three lights stay on tire pressure, stability light, power sterring light (assist stability system) Honda knew when they sold me the car it had a defect , only one owner leased it for 12 months Honda put it up for sale Dec 10, 2015 I bought it Dec 15, 2015 five days later with only 29, 416 miles on it ; nothing should have been wrong with this car. Honda has a class action suit against them regarding their "defective assist stability system " same problem like minds Honda knew that's why they were praying the lights wouldn't never come back on so they can stick me with this defective car I still have it as we speak with all 3 lights on. Look on "gotclassaction. Com/Honda defect assist stability system I comment on it in Dec this year (valerie k. ). Honda was just throwing shit up against the wall to see if it will stick. I have all my documentation, videos , pictures and text from my Honda advisor to back every word I stated up to the "t" thank you.

5 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2008 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 05/10/2012

Purchased this car as a certified used car in November 2010 from tarrytown Honda. Numerous incidents of stopping on the road with this car since June 2011 but this is the latest incident. Previous incident also reported on this website. Also filed complaint with american Honda in September 2011 (case#n0122011-09-0701741) and filed for nys lemon law arbitration in 2011 but never received a response. Car dashboard lighting started to go while driving and steering difficult. Car stopped after coming off of brooklyn bridge on 5/10/12 and had to be frantically pushed to the side of the road with help of good samaritan and my passenger because hazard lights wouldn't remain on. Car was towed to Honda dealership by aaa. Car completely died on the road in the middle of highway traffic with steering impossible and hazard lights not operable. Dealership states that alternator and battery need replacement - for the second time in one year! I belong to a Honda Fit online forum where other Honda Fit owners complain of the same problem. The dealership has not been able to resolve the problem since the first incident in June 2011 and I maybe injured or killed if I continue to drive this car.
