I purchased my new vehicle February 2020. These are my electronic vehicle issues: 1) my battery dies when left for several hours with no electronics left on and no after market add on equipment. 2) electronic display looses touch functionality. Battery disconnect restores. 3) radio presets change to channels I would not select. I think a hacker has compromised the gps or cellular phone factory power/connect attachment. These issue stop when the vehicle looses view of the sky. Ie. , metal roof garage. Attached volt meter and vehicle has severe electrical drain for normal 14. 4 to 12. 2 volts. This is variable and unrelated to heavy power draining equipment like "rear window defroster. " electrical system normally drops momentarily during factory equipment initial turn on but quickly returns to 14. 4 volts. At various times while driving, system voltage will remain at 12. 2 volts with no user electrical equipment change. Possible suspect within law enforcement reports. The contact owns a 2016 Honda Fit. The contact stated that the vehicle it failed to start. The vehicle was taken to all star Honda (6141 s 27th st, greenfield, WI 53221) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle was manufactured in that manner. If the vehicle were parked for several days, the battery would fail, which was an ongoing failure. The manufacturer was contacted and did not acknowledge a manufacturing failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000.

On 12/31/2013 I parked my Honda Fit 2012 in the parking garage of children's hospital los angeles at 6am and left it there while my little girl had surgery. When I returned to it at 4:30, I was unable to open the doors with the key fob. The light on the fob flashed, so I knew it wasn't the problem. There is only one keyed lock on the car on the driver's handle. I tried to put the key into this mechanical lock, but it would only go half-way and would not open the door. I called the Honda care line who sent a tow truck whose driver tried for half an hour or so to unlock the door through the window, then said he couldn't do it and left. I called the Honda number again; they sent another truck whose driver tried for another half hour or so, then left. I called my car insurance company, state farm, who sent a aaa truck whose driver also tried to open the door with the air bladder device in the window, but was unable to do so. At that point I asked him to break the small, front passenger window. He did so, then he was able to unlock the door, raise the hood and jump the battery to start my car. The hood can't be opened except by the latch inside the car. How is it legal for a car to be built without a way to lift the hood to jump the battery? as long as I couldn't open the door, I was unable to start the car. There is no way to get into the car when the battery is dead. I haven't been given any explanation about this or about why the car can't be opened if the battery is dead. For over three and a half hours my child who'd just had two surgeries sat in a wheelchair while the people I've paid to help me were unable to unlock my car. This could have happened anywhere. Fortunately I was in a parking garage and not in a parking lot or on the side of the street.

Since purchase 2010 I have noted a suspicion of vehicle's electrical system. I have spoken numerous times of this suspicion and issues of concern to friends and family and with dealership. Dealership told me they are unable to check the electronic system. . My suspicion began within a year of purchase ,with automatic door locks making unusual sound as if not enough juice to lock or open automatically to more concern of driving with a drag sense and feeling like going to stall at traffic lights approximately 2015? complaint form asks for exact mileage and year began. Date I entered is just over purchase date although the heat has been more of a serious suspicion 2015-2017 that I can recall; mileage of issues noted are guesstimate 0 miles through current 124,000 miles car periodically feels like will stall in traffic at stop light, and lack of power while driving at speeds 30-70 mph. It is common to feel like I am pulling a trailer filled with heavy rock as if a pull or drag on engine, sometimes like it is just going to stall while driving. I have had battery checked for more than 3 years when questioning why it driving this way and I am told ,the battery is ok. I have replaced battery 2x since 2010 for actual battery failure. The driver dashboard and driver foot area heat up to what has been noticeable and of suspicion to me, feeling like an unusual and dangerous level of heat to touch. To touch heating cooling knob for example or in area of dashboard and electronic knobs have been very hot. I had just seen online and read about a 2010 Honda Fit engine and engine cooling NHTSA campaign #11v101000 recall dated March 7, 2011. I am told by Honda and NHTSA that my 2010 Honda Fit is not included due to not being of same manufacturer of other Honda Fits of this recall. I am concerned that my engine issues that have been of my suspicion are related to this recall.

On 10/21/2008 seven months after purchasing our 2008 Honda Fit (new) the battery went dead. We jump started it and took to dealer. They tested it and said it failed the load test. They replaced it with a new one. On 10/20/2010, the car wouldn't start again. We jump started it and drove to dealer. They found nothing wrong. On 01/24/2011, the car wouldn't start. We had it jump started and drove to dealer. They load tested it and it failed. They replaced it with a new one. On 07/08/2013, the car wouldn't start . We had it jump started and took to dealer. They replaced it. The car is driven about 45 mins most days. Every once in a while it will sit for a day, it currently has 72,507 miles. The last occurence happened after it sat for 4 hours. Nothing was left on. Even though this shouldn't cause a crash, we are reluctant to drive it at night and becoming stranded. We contacted american Honda and opened a case. The next step would involve us paying for a diagnostic test. According to searches on the internet, there was a battery problem especially in 2009. Hopefully, this battery will be a good one. I guess we should be happy we don't have the acceleration problem documented on this website. So far, the dealer has been great about replacing the batteries for free under the battery warranty. But we wish they could figure out why the batteries keep failing. Whether they are defective or if the car's electrical system is causing it to happen.
