The camera associated with the Honda sensing features has failed, resulting is multiple warning lights and non functioning safety features.
The whole radar that controls collision mitigation, steering, lane departure, etc. Quit working. The car is only a few years old. All these lights go off in the car often times causing the car not to work properly. When we went to the dealership, the maintenance man said that this is a common issue due to the fact that they put the radar system in a location that gets overheated. We filed a claim, but they only will pay for a small portion of it to be repaired. Many of these cars have the same issue.

Front view camera behind rear view mirror suddenly stopped working. All advanced safety mechanisms stopped working, replacement is said to be $2500 with no known reason for this part to stop working besides it "went bad".
When driving with cruise control on the vehicle will brake when car is coming toward me from other lane as if the car is going in my lane and it is not. It has caused me to have several close calls with cars behind me almost hitting me.

Several warning lights came on. No collision or glass damage occured. Took it to the dealer. Diagnosis was code u3000-49 "multipurpose camera unit/millimeter wave radar internal electric failure due to heat. They said fix it would be $2237. 49. However, they said they could not fix it then because the part is back ordered. Due to so many cars with this problem. I went online and see other 2019 Hr-v owners having the same issue.
Verified by dealer failure of multipurpose camera unit . As documented by Honda dealership the failure is due to internal electric defect (dtc u3000-49). This is a safety related electronic system and is not result of wear, misuse, or maintenance- related issues.
While parking my car and going under 20 mph, my car suddenly accelerated. My foot was not on the brake or the accelerator when this occurred. I was forced to slam my brake to prevent myself from hitting the curb in front of me . This has happened twice, both in the process of turning to park and going under 20 mph. My cruise control was not on at the time. I have taken my car to Honda to investigate and they were unable to replicate the issue.
All the lights for the Honda sensing systems (lks, acc, road departure, etc) are on periodically with notifications that they were not working. There is nothing wrong with the battery or anything else. They are gonna charge me 1,500$ to get this fixed when it’s their equipment that’s at fault.
Honda sensing dash warning lights come on and off during driving which can create an unsafe situation. The Honda sensing dash warning lights were for road departure mitigation system problem, collision mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, and auto high-beam problem. Per galpin Honda, the Honda sensing camera failed and needs to be replaced.
While on cruise control on the freeway, car suddenly decelerated 20+ mph. There was nothing ahead of me on the road at the time, no cars, no debris or construction materials, nothing. I was nearly rear ended. Car has not been inspected yet. Many alerts go off on the dash for unexplained reasons - that various safety mitigation systems are offline due to debris on windshield for example, when the windshield is totally clean. But there were no alerts prior to this deceleration at all. Drivers side speaker shorts out intermittently. Car is available for inspection on request. I haven't used cruise control since this incident.

Around July 2024 my 2019 hrv began displaying warnings regarding the Honda sensing camera and the features associated with it. After spending my own time and money diagnosing the issue, the dealership explained the Honda sensing camera is malfunctioning. Without any further explanation they expected me to pay almost $2,000 to fix it. Now my car will not pass inspection unless I pay out of pocket to fix the malfunctioning camera despite the lack of reasoning. This feature should be removed from Honda vehicles if it is going to malfunction for no reason.
My vehicle stopped in the middle of the highway without any warning. This was a very scary and dangerous experience. After the engine completely stopped and I tried turning on a symbol of steering wheel and an exclamation came on. Only thing to note is that we were using the cruise control at that time. My vehicle was completely disabled and had to be towed. The Honda dealer said it was nothing based on diagnostics and they're not sure why this happened.
