Warnings Problems of Honda HR-V

Since purchasing my 2022 Honda Hr-v in 2024, I have experienced ongoing unintended or “phantom” braking while driving at highway speeds with adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and the collision mitigation braking system activated. When a vehicle is traveling in an adjacent lane—most frequently on the right side—the dashboard displays an orange brake warning, and the vehicle abruptly brakes without driver input despite no obstruction in my lane. This issue occurs approximately four times per week, and the vehicle currently has about 75,000 miles. During each incident, I disengage adaptive cruise control using the steering wheel controls to regain manual control. Although no accidents or injuries have occurred, these sudden braking events have resulted in multiple near-miss situations and present a significant safety concern.

The forward-facing windshield lane assist monocular camera ceased working after only 44000 miles. This resulted in numerous hazard warning lights being activated in my dashboard. I went to the dealer where I bought the car, and they gave me an estimate for almost $2200. 00. They are charging me $1649. 00 for the part. I found the part (oem) online for half that price. A search on the internet finds thousands of complaints about this part prematurely failing. I bought a new car for the safety features and now if I want to keep them I have to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a replacement part that Honda knows is bad. I feel I am being price gouged and that my safety as well as the safety of others on the road are being negatively impacted. Nhtsa and Honda need to recall this part and replace it ASAP. Thx.

The forward camera mounted on the windshield failed which means all of the advanced safety features will not work that is a safety hazard when you rely on these systems. Looking on the internet, this seems to be a common problem and is very expensive to fix. There are multiple warning lamps that appear. They are brake system, auto high-beam problem, collision mitigation system problem, lane keeping assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, & adaptive cruise control problem. I don't understand how there are recalls when the rear camera does not work but not the front camera. They are both safety features.

Unknown cause. Multiple Smart features prompted errors. Replacing battery did not solve issue. Replacing camera temporarily solved issue, but returned.

I was driving normally, and a car was coming up to a stop sign from my right side on a completely different road and the car jerked and the brakes automatically applied to the car and the dash blinked “brake” for a brief moment. I’ve had the car for awhile and it has never done anything like that. Some days the blind spot doesn’t work either, when I know there is a car next to me the light on the mirrors and the beeping does not activate.

Car has 40000miles, started posting warning for lane keeping, lane departure, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and the car disabled all the features in adas, also posted brake system warning indicator. The Honda dealer diagnosis the multi-purpose camera failed. Car has low miles, and should not have failed this soon, and also creates dangers for the driver, the dashboard lights all these warning, quite concerning. Cost was also extremely expensive, over $2k to repair.

Started vehicle and it lit up with every warning imaginable. Dealership said it's the Honda sensing unit is defective. After reviewing online, it certainly seems everyone's unit is defective. . Now we were quoted 3k to fix safety related stuff. Can't afford to fix so now, just driving it until it crashes! woohoo fun! and no recall!.

Vehicle has been brought to dealership multiple times due to messages coming up on dashboard stating road departure mitigation system problem. See your dealer and collision mitigation breaking system problem. See your dealer. Each time the car has been taken in the dealership has stated that the problem cannot be duplicated or replicated and no error codes found. Vehicle is operating as manufactured. Detailed have been requested. On one occasion the dealership stated the vehicle would be needed for multiple days but tried to return it the next day. After calls were ignored for days for answer the vehicle was returned covered in ice and windshield wipers not in the proper position. There is believed to be minor damage in the drivers side wiper. After the message came up again the dealership has stated they have exhausted all attempts to diagnose issue and will no longer work on the vehicle. Multiple attempts been made to gain american Honda's participation but they have not proactively participated. The car has also attempted to leave the lane/road on to occasions. This seems connected to the Honda sensing probe NHTSA has expanded to include 2020-2022 Honda cr-v and accord. This message was received yesterday and today upon start up and putting the car into gear.

I bought this car new in 2019. It was never in an accident. While driving normally, the car started throwing warnings saying the lane keep assist has a problem, the collision mitigatuon system hhas a peoblem, the auto high beams have a problem, the road departure system has a problem. I paid Honda in surprise az $210 for a diagnosis and they told me that it needs a new u3000-49 multipurpose camera unit will cost $1,730 to replace and install and possibky another $1,420 for a new srs unit. The car was never in an accident, and both of these should not be breaking after just 5 years of ownership. Clearly the multipurpose camera unit and also likely the srs are defective and should be recalled.

While driving the cbms was activated and my car came to a complete stop even though no cars were in front of me. It stopped my car in an intersection and a car was coming behind me.

Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, collision avoidance, regular cruise control, and more all shut down after my cars Honda sense camra died.

Honda sensing dash warning lights come on and off during driving which can create an unsafe situation. The Honda sensing dash warning lights were for road departure mitigation system problem, collision mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, and auto high-beam problem. Per galpin Honda, the Honda sensing camera failed and needs to be replaced.

Vehicle gives false brake alert with no obstacle ahead causing car to suddenly brake. This happens multiple times and regularly.

I turned the corner into a parking space at a local business. When I was turning into the parking space, my foot was hovering over the left floor peddle (the break). All of a sudden, the vehicle lunged forward while my foot was still hovering over the break. During the incident, my foot did not touch the gas pedal when the car was accelerating towards the store window. I quickly firmly stepped on the brake when the car began to accelerate. The car went over the concrete parking stop, onto the sidewalk, crashing into the windows of the establishment. I nor any of the other patrons of the establishment were injured. Also to be noted, neither the forward collision, parking collision or automatic emergency breaking took effect. Police arrived on scene. A report was made. After the incident, the vehicle was towed away to a local Honda dealer in order for the vehicle to be assessed.

100% system failure vehicle totalled personal injury I have all data retrieved and filed by expert.

The warning signs popped up with those 2 safety features and said “see your dealer”, I took to the dealer and there was “nothing wrong”. On the dashboard warnings started to flash “brake” with nothing in it view and has attempted to even brake by itself with nothing in front of it or anything that could affect it. I then still had the 2 warning safety features pop up also so I took to the dealer for a second time and they said there was a problem with the battery and replaced it under warranty. The car was brand new and I had it for 6 months. After battery replacement that same week the car shut off twice by itself. The 6 months of owning the vehicle it has never done that mind you I’ve waited about 30 minutes a day for my daughter in the school pickup line and it has never once turned off. I took to the dealer and they said “nothing” was wrong with it. They said the vehicle kept coming out as cleared.

Purchased hrv new and at approximately 3900 miles all warning system lights starting flashing while I was driving. Took car home and checked oil and there was none at all. Put oil in and took to dealership who found the Honda manufacturer had not installed the oil filter properly and the car had sprayed oil across the undercarriage of the car while I was on the interstate. If the car had locked up while driving 70 mph due to no oil, my father, brother, and I would have been killed and may have injured/killed someone else. Since getting oil filter installed correctly and oil in the car, the collision and lane departure warnings continue to display periodically at the initial starting of the car saying the those systems have issues and to see the dealership. I have taken car to the dealership 3 times and once they connected it to a diagnostic machine which said "I had a code" and those codes were supposedly corrected, but the same warnings remain. It is not reproduceable and I have not been able to capture a pic of the occurrance. I believe running out of oil has damaged the warning systems and needs to be replaced or Honda should provide me a new car for my current car (10,700 miles).

The collision mitigation system has operated four times when no collision was imminent. Car braked in heavy city traffic twice and at highway speeds twice. No accidents occurred .

Sunroof suddenly exploded and shattered in millions pieces. The car was purchased on November 2021, brand new.

I've taken this vehicle to dealership 5 times between October 2021 and February 18, 2022. Three different times the brakes activated without my touching them. Three other times the brakes stopped the car even as I was slowing down for a stoplight. This could cause someone behind me to "rear-end" my car. I have been to my dealership four times and they could not duplicate the issue, no codes found so they could not fix it. One other was a dealership out of town. On the fourth visit to my dealership, the cameras were adjusted and front wheels aligned. After fifth visit, the service coordinator supposedly turned off vsa, but the brakes applied themselves two more times. Every time these incidents occur the indicator "brake" flashes on. I tried to scan invoices but they were too large.
