While driving my 2022 Honda hrv the vehicle started losing acceleration on its own. The vehicle abruptly slowed down while I was driving it. There was no warning. This is a major safety issue as the car lost speed without any warning and can easily cause an accident.

The contact stated that after starting the vehicle and switching to the reverse position while very slowly releasing the brake pedal the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration causing the vehicle to drive in reverse and crash into a tree. This is a continuation of NHTSA id number: 11463644. Secondary issue is minimal acceleration output when entering the freeways. At times, it can take between 20-30 seconds to get 0-60 mph - creating a very dangerous environment with the vehicles behind me braking hard to avoid crashing into my 2022 Honda Hr-v sport. American Honda denied my claim to replace ecu and repair body damage to the vehicle after examination.

This accident took place on April 19, 2022 - - ten days after I took possession of my new 2022 Honda Hr-v sport from the dealership - - sudden unintended acceleration. The facts are I came home on April 19, 2022. I drove slowly up the driveway. I stopped. I inched forward. I stepped lightly on the gas pedal. Then the vehicle suddenly accelerated without warning at high speed. The hard-hitting impact resulted in damage to the front of my vehicle. The building supplies on the driveway took the full impact of the accident. Otherwise, the vehicle could have crashed through the garage door and hit another vehicle - -likely resulting in serious injuries or death to myself and extensive property damage. American Honda denied my claim to replace ecu and repair body damage to the vehicle after examination.

The SUV decelerated rapidly while driving uphill on the grapevine in los angeles. I was driving 70 mph and then the SUV's speed just started to drop and I was pressing down hard on the accelerator. This may haven been an issue with the engine or the transmission. My daughter and I could have been seriously injured or killed since we were surrounded by cars going 70+ mph and no one could have expected our SUV to decelerate so quickly on this stretch of highway. I've taken this vehicle to dealership 5 times between October 2021 and February 18, 2022. Three different times the brakes activated without my touching them. Three other times the brakes stopped the car even as I was slowing down for a stoplight. This could cause someone behind me to "rear-end" my car. I have been to my dealership four times and they could not duplicate the issue, no codes found so they could not fix it. One other was a dealership out of town. On the fourth visit to my dealership, the cameras were adjusted and front wheels aligned. After fifth visit, the service coordinator supposedly turned off vsa, but the brakes applied themselves two more times. Every time these incidents occur the indicator "brake" flashes on. I tried to scan invoices but they were too large.

I was driving into my very short driveway tonight. I have a class b (van sized RV) parked in front. As I drove in and started to brake, the car accelerated rapidly. I tried pumping the brake, but the car accelerated and hit the back of the RV, causing significant damage to both vehicles. The air bags did not deploy, but the seat belt became very tight. I took the car into a dealer in utah 4 weeks previously and they did recall work on the brakes and fuel line. The problem with the brakes was excess air in the brake lines that they had to bleed, from what I read about the recall. I don't know if this is still the problem, but something caused the brakes to fail. I am now unsure if this car will be safe to drive, even after repairs. I live in a very remote area where the nearest community of any size is 2 hours in either north or south directions. There is open livestock grazing (horses and cattle) on the two lane highway and without the ability to brake as needed, this could be deadly for me, my passengers and the livestock. Please look into this. I have never had this happen!.

When driving on the highway, my vehicle accelerated very suddenly despite me not having put additional pressure on the gas pedal, as I was at a cruising speed of about 65 mph. Immediately after accelerating, my vehicle began to quickly decelerate, so much so that I had to veer over to the shoulder so as not to cause a collision with other vehicles on the road. It decelerated despite my foot still pressing on the gas pedal. In addition, the lights on my dash lit up and some began flashing. I took my vehicle into the dealership to discover that the computer system required an update and my transmission belt had deteriorated so much that it needed to be replaced. I was assured by the dealership that I would not experience this issue again after these repairs had been made. Since then, I have taken my vehicle to the dealership with this same issue an additional 3 times. Even after these multiple attempts at repair, this issue still has not been resolved. I am no longer comfortable driving this vehicle as it has shut down on the highway on more than one occasion now. I cannot in good faith be on the road knowing that this could occur again at any moment, causing a safety risk not only to myself, but to others around me as well.

Sometimes when I am driving on any road flat, incline, up a hill/mountain trying to merge into traffic/pass a vehicle. I think I covered all of the situations. There is a dramatic loss of power or a play or something where I have to push the accelerator all the way to the floor in order for it to get gas or gain speed to pass or to accomplish the task at hand. My 2020 Hr-v only has a little over 17,500 miles. I also only put in gas from qt which is a top tier gasoline. So I don’t know what the problem is but I am going to end up having a wreck because of this or worse dying because of this problem.

On 12/28 9:00pm, was driving at 73mph on us 68 north bound in a cruise mode set at 73mph. Physical contact between driver and the vehicle control component was only steering wheel. While driving, rpm suddenly reved up to 5. 5k and driver immediately shut down the cruise mode by pressing brake pedal. After the cruise mode being canceled, the engine reved up to 5. 5k again. Driver pulled up on the side of the highway as soon as possible and identified all dashboard warning lights were on. The car was shutdown immediately by taking the key out. The car is towed to hugh white Honda dealership in columbus ohio.

8/1/2020: at 65 mph the engine started vibrating, when accelerated to 75mph engine stalls, rpm rapidly increased to ~5000 and collapsed. Lost forward momentum and output from the engine. Multiple dash lights came on (power steering, tire pressure warning, break system lights, traction control light, check engine lights etc. Came on). Vehicle was on the active lane, put in neutral and steered to the shoulder. Unable to get the car moving again after turning off and on. Afraid that I was going to lose ac in the 108f heat if the vehicle does not turn on again so I left it at that until the tow truck arrives. The car had to be left overnight because dealership close Sunday. 8/2/2020: the next day I received a voicemail from superstition Honda regarding the vehicle's diagnosis. Was informed that the diagnosis code observed was related to the ignition start push button that needed replacing. I gave consent to the service to replace the ignition button. 8/3/2020: after I went to superstition Honda to pick up the car. I then proceeded to take the car onto highway 60 and got up to the stated speed limit of 65 mph when the same symptoms appeared. Vehicle stalled at speed, rpm rapidly increased to ~5000 before collapsing. I was in an extremely dangerous situation because there was no shoulder at the area where I came to a stop on the highway, therefore I was stationary partially in the active lane. There was no warning lights that gave any indication there was a problem with the car. The catastrophic failure happened out of no where. After returning to superstition Honda, I left the vehicle on and had it diagnose before turning the car off. Was eventually informed that there are multiple metal fragments in the transmission fluid, and that the metal fragments also damaged a pressure sensor in the transmission system. The transmission will need to be replaced.

I was pulling into a parking space. While slowing down and braking to a stop the car suddenly surged forward, jumped a curb and ran into a rock retaining wall. I pressed the brake pedal to the floor, it gave no resistance and did not stop the car. The engine was revving at a high rate, even while it hit the wall. The repairs were over $2000 for damage to the front end, lights, air conditioner and radiator support. The airbags did not deploy. The car was about 8-10 feet from the wall when it accelerated. I had the car repaired. I took it to a Honda dealer and also contacted american Honda. Both the technicians at the dealership and an american Honda inspector checked the vehicle. I was told that other than a failure of the battery due to low voltage they could not find any problems that could have caused the accident.

The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 6,850.

Multiple times within the past year, especially if it is cooler outside, my car screen for my mileage, gas tank hand, and all of that electrical stuff will completely disappear. When it shows back up most of the time it will have crazy letters and start flashing. The icon with the key has recently popped up on my dash which stands for something being wrong with the system.

I was driving at ~25 mph and stopped at a stop sign, then suddenly the car just shut off and I had to restart it a couple of times. Another time, I was pulling out of a parking lot at 5 mph and then the car suddenly stopped and shut off. Online research shows that this occurred to other Hr-v owners as well and had their throttle body replaced. Honda is refusing to replace my throttle body.

Vehicle was in driving motion at 50mph then started to slowly decelerate while on drive. Accelerator was increased but the engine was still wiring down. All indicators lights appeared on the dash board. Brakes seemed to lock and could not come to a complete stop until the car finally stopped from it slowly wiring down. Car stopped moving while on drive and would not budge. The speed indicator kept moving from 0 to 120 yet the car was not moving. Took it to a mechanic to run a diagnostic and it appears to be an internal transmission problem, everything else looks good yet the transmission is having issues. The car has always been kept up to date. The vehicle has about 75,000 miles.
