Body problems of the 2007 Honda Odyssey - part 1

We drove the Honda Odyssey 2007 to a nearby swimming pool and opened the driver side sliding door. The door resisted opening and fell off onto the ground. Nobody was hurt but someone was almost hurt. The door had made grinding noises and was difficult to open for about a week before the incident happened.

Left sliding door lock will not unlock which causes the fuel door not to open.

When closing the drivers sliding door the door fell off both hinges completely, crashing to the ground.

Power sliding doors on exl model becomes slightly ajar/open after the door is closed and the power to the sliding doors is off. Furthermore, door slid open while the vehicle is moving (happened 3 times over the years) with our family dog falling out of the car in the most recent situation. (in the other two times, door slid open next to my kids who were buckled in and thus were not harmed). Please note that for the Honda Odyssey, all doors are automatically locked when the transmission is shifted out of park. Thus the door should not open on its own especially while the vehicle is moving. Dealership cannot replicate the problem and wants to replace the door latches which have previously been replaced (when the first two incidents happened). Even with this repair, they cannot guarantee that the door will not slide open while the vehicle is moving.

I was parked at walmart and got groceries came out opened my sliding door and it fell off the hinges due to bad hardware says it will cost 2500 to fix wtf. Then a month later the other fell off also why when there are so many other reports of this happening is there not a recall already or at least an investigation. I mean come on you don't even have an option for reporting sliding door falling off.

Right passenger door feel off hinge and hung. I had to catch the door since I was by myself. Yes issue was confirmed with dealer. No inspection from insurance or police. No indications of failure of door, automatic door function was not work so manual function was engaged.

I was in my driveway parked when my passenger side back sliding door wouldn't close so I turned off the electric for the sliding doors and tried to close it manually and it wouldn't budge then it just feel off track clearly there have been numerous reports on this and nothing has been done what would happen if I was driving down the road and this happened. Something needs to be done and better parts need to be made.

Paint chipping and peeling and fading.

My power sliding door pulls shut but then pops out enough to register that the door is open. Pulling on the door does not pull away from the body when it is physically pulled. The power door button on the dash and the key fob do not work for that same door. I have tried shutting off and turning on the switch with no response. I'm afraid that the door will slide open while driving.

Passenger sliding door fell off. 11-02-2020 in a parking lot away from home. And now wont slide back when trying to open to replace cheap made rolles and thin cable is cheap. Some things are worth the extra few dollars to be guaranteed quality parts. Comr on kia even done better in their beginning. I will buy kia next time too.

The driver side sliding passenger door came unhinged and fell off when trying to close the door.

Paint is peeling off. When I touch the paint, it peels and flakes off. I can't even wash certain areas of it now because when I spray the water hose at it, the paint flakes off.

Sliding doors won't lock the sliding door will just pop open again. Have child lock engaged and door locked from inside. I have found about 40 cars with this problem in just columbus ohio alone that are 2007. The cost to repair is 500$ which is failing most of the youtube videos are showing.

The sliding door struggled to close in a parking lot, continually stopping mid slide and opening up again. After trying to close it a few times, the wheel on the top of the door fell off the track, leaving the door hanging only by the guide wire in the middle of the door. The paint on the side of the vehicle was scratched badly and the vehicle required a tow and a trip to the mechanic. The door fell off again only a week later.

My vehicle was parked and was in a parking lot in lake city. I was out shopping with my family and I pressed button to ipen passenger sliding door and the door came off the railing hanging by a cable. I had a small child with me and that is dangerous. I just bought this vehicle so I have not had it long. Regardless of the miles on the vehicle this is unsafe.

The driver's side rear sliding door fell off. Very scary and caused damage. 81 year old mother-in-law sat next to it holding it for the trip home. Horrible we were in a grocery store parking lot . When we opened it it just fell.

Sliding side door rear latch will not stay latched using automatic closing mechanism or manually closing the door while standing still. Warning light and buzzer indicate unlatched door. Sometimes happens during driving. I have not yet had it to the dealer.

Passenger side door fell off its middle and top rollers. The wire in the middle roller kept the door falling on my 8 year old daughter. The vehicle was parked and turned off. Thr door was opened and my daughter attempted to close the door when it fell off.

Takata recall my passenger sliding door opens an closes when it wants to. I hit the bottom to open it and it closes then it will close an then open with out pushing the button. The vehicle is parked an the key isn't in the ignition.

Automatic doors will not open on their own. They may open partially and stop, or not at all.

On July 15, 2017 we were loading the van for vacation and the passenger sliding door fell off, landing on my 14 year daughters leg/foot. On August 28, 2017 my son went to unlock the van and pressed the sliding door opener by accident, the passenger door again fell off. The door fell off on top of my 8 year old son. The kids were therefore late for their first day of school. When the door fell off, it bent the track and scratched the whole passenger back side of my van. While my daughter and I tried putting the door back on the door slipped out of the track again and damaged the front passenger door, denting the bottom of the front passenger door. That afternoon I went to the Honda dealer in grandville michigan and talked to randy howes. He refused to listen to me and directed me to look in the manual and contact Honda. So I called the 1-800 number in my manual. I retold what had happened and was told this was a serious incident and that I would hear back with in 2 days. After a week a began calling again, I finally received a call back from rio wardana from Honda. I retold him again what had happened and told him I wanted the door fixed and the damaged fixed that the door caused. He was very disrespectful and told me he had never heard of any door falling off a Honda van. I informed him of the 100s of complaints on line but he refused to listen. I was told the door falling off was my fault and not Hondas. I asked him what to do because the other door was acting funny as well. He said to use the hatch back door for entering if I needed to and he hung up on me. I have been battling Honda ever since and can get no where. My door is not dangerous. I cannot have my children near it with the fear of it falling off again and I can find no one to help me with this case. Please tell me what to do to hold Honda accountable for their vehicle safety concern!!.

The sliding door on my Odyssey fell off. It literally fell off right onto my body while I was pumping gas. Not only did this cause physical harm to my person, but it resulted in substantial body damage to the vehicle panel.

The driver's side sliding door bumps and grinds when opening and closing. It will suddenly stop then reverse direction. It has almost shut on several people. I've delt with it for years but today I realized that water is leaking in the same door. I realized this when I went to put on my seat belt and it was frozen inside and wet. My rear driver's side belt was also wet. After realizing this I saw a wet stain along the whole top of the sliding door. So disappointed.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. While driving approximately 55 mph, the rear driver side sliding door operated independently. The dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure due to lack of payment. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

My Honda Odyssey driver side sliding door had been shaking, making noises, and opening and closing mid way for a few weeks when the door finally popped out! we were returning from a family trip and after we pulled into our driveway around 1:30 am and parked, my husband used the sliding door to get our toddler out. As he reached in and picked her up, the door began to close and he pushed her back in. Then there was a loud banging noise and the door popped out and was hanging by the hinges. We could not blieve what just happened. Fearing that the door would fall off, we quickly took the kids in and my husband and son attempted to put the door back on as quickly and safely as we could with our phones flashlights for visibility. It took a while but they managed to lift and push it up where it was no longer hanging but wasn't closed all the way either. We covered the door and openings with trash bags to seal out the rain that was getting in. Later that morning we went out to inspect the damage. The trash bags had blown off and the seats were wet, the door had scratched the exterior of the van deeply. The next business day which was Monday the 4th, I called my Honda service station and told them what happened he said he had heard about the problem but I needed to call Honda corporate and see if they would pay for repairs. I called corporate and was told that due to he high mileage of my vehicle they would not pay. I told him that while researching why the door would just pop out, I found hundreds of complaints about the same issue and not all the vans had high mileage but Honda refused to help them too it was unsafe when the door was shaking and closing as we would try to get in or out but now we cannot get out of that door in case of anemergency I believe Honda has a serious safety issue with these doors and is refusing to acknowledge it.

My vehicle has a strong gassy smell when I start it up. Both my passenger doors have fallen off the hinges while stationery and my check fuel cap light constantly flashes while in motion.

I was involved in a three car accident. I was the third car, we were leaving from a traffic light on highway maryland 301 that just turned green. According to the driver of the second car, driver of car one slammed on her brakes after taking off. I than ran into car number two. I sustained front end damage and my air bags did not deploy.

The automatic rear doors don't latch properly and can occasionally open during sharp turns.

The passenger side sliding door will not close completely using powered closing mechanism. When the power mechanism is turned off on the dashboard and the door is closed manually by hand, it stays closed but only for a few seconds. Then the back part of the door pops open. It does not matter how many times the back of the door is pushed closed (and the lock button hurriedly locked) the back of the door will pop open. When it is being driven down the road/highway the door open light is on, the door is not closed completely and road/highway noise is heard from the partially open door. On occasion, (when turning right, going downhill, going over certain bumps) the light will go off and the door will "close" but this is only temporary. As soon as the turn is finished, not going downhill, or go over another small bump, the door will pop open in the back and the light will turn back on. This is a safety issue, especially because children are transported in the vehicle!.

The sliding door completely fell off. This was unprovoked. I opened it and it didn't open all the way. I then attempted to close it and it was stuck so I turned off the electric part. Now that it was manual I attempted to close it and it fell off complete!.
