5 Door problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2011

I cut and pasted part of another complaint as this complaint perfectly explains my complaint. "the right rear passenger intermittently fails to open or close. This occurs when using the remote, driver buttons, or the door handles (interior & exterior). It appears to jump off the track. We have had it looked at by a Honda" 5 times. I bought it used from the dealership and it was a certified, pre owned Honda. The 4th time I took it in they replaced the replaced the harness and pinch center in may 8, 2012. They said the middle roller was broken as well and that was replaced in February 2012. But I am still having trouble. This morning when I brought it in to look at it, the door made the loud popping sound it sometimes makes after I have tried to open it for a long time without success. The technician saw it but like all of them, he just looked dumbfounded and did not appear to know what to do. I mentioned others have complained about the doors on this site and they did not seem to care. The most aggravating thing is that when I bring it in to the shop to be seen, the door always works for the Honda guys so it looks like I am crazy.

6 Door problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2010

The right rear passenger intermittenly fails to open or close. This occurs when using the remote, driver buttons, or the door handles (interior & exterior). It appears to jump off the track. We have had it looked at by a Honda dealer no less than 3 times. I know of two other people who have the same problem with their 2007 Odyssey.

The vehicle was driven to the side of the road and the defective doors were closed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. The failure was related to the closure motors. 9 Door problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2010

The rear hatch of my 2007 Honda Odyssey touring van suddenly fell on my 13 year old daughter as she was leaning into the cargo area of the van. The it appears that the struts designed to hold the door opened failed. The door weighs at least 50 pounds.

10 Door problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2009

The automatic sliding doors of the 2007 Honda Odyssey ex-l entrapped my 5 year olds left hand at the back of the door. He has swelling, bruising, and abrasions. It does not appear that there is permanent damage. However, the proximity of the seat and seat belt to the rear door jam is conducive for this type of injury. The door should immediately reverse if it encounters any resistance to closing at any part of the door. It currently only stops it's motion if the front part of the door encounters significant force.

11 Door problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2008

My 3 year old son's arm and hand became trapped in the left rear automatic electronic sliding door. There is a safety to prevent accidental closure, however there are no safeties in place on the inside of the vehicle to prevent a child's arm and/or hand/fingers from being crushed or trapped. This is a very serious problem!.

12 Door problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2008

My daughter who is 5 got her hand caught in the sliding door of our 2007 Honda Odyssey. She got it caught in the rear end of the door and the door did not reopen. She screamed and I ran to that side of the car and opened the door to release her hand from the door. She was in a lot of pain and had visible marks across her hand.

13 Door problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the driver and passenger sliding doors would not open yet the doors were unlocked. The warning light would chime while driving. The vehicle was never taken to the dealer for inspection on repairs. The failure persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 110,000.

14 Door problem

Failure Date: 04/14/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated he had the left passenger side sliding door open and he noticed it began to close without warrant. He was unable to open the door with the door mechanism and instead attempted to open the door manually. He was able to pull the door open slightly, however the door continued to close and his wrist became jammed in the door. The vehicle had not yet been diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000 and the current mileage was 50,000. Updated 05/19/10.
