The front multifunction windshield camera module failed due to a hot day. The cruise control, lane departure, collision mitigation, and other advanced driver safety assists are completely non functional. These are key safety features for ourselves and others. It has been confirmed by technicians, and many other owners of vehicle this model and generation with the same problem. It hasn't been inspected by the manufacturer. Many warning indications came on during startup and all the systems stated above stopped working. They haven't worked sense. This same thing happened about 2 years ago on this same van. This is a very common issue with this vehicle model and year. The manufacturer needs to issue recall for it.
While driving on the interstate (60-70 mph) in very light traffic (2 cars in view), there was a beep from the consol and the following errors flashed: adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance warning. At the same time as the beep the car felt like the breaks were being slammed on for 2 second. There was no car within 30 feet of us. And we went from ~70 mph to 40. This startled us. Ever sense then the errors would randomly come on and the vehicle will break suddenly, leading to very unsafe moments.
Collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) my 2019 Honda Odyssey slammed on the brakes while traveling 70+ mph on a clear freeway. There was no warning and nothing in the road. I have also had issues with the braking warning light flashing for no reason while traveling down the roadway. I called the Honda dealership and inquired about the braking issues and was told unfortunately it can happen, especially if I drive on windy roads.
The front sensor has malfunctioned and all adas features are now disabled. There is no damage to the vehicle and was mentioned that this is a common issue yet no recall has been instituted yet.
I had 5 warnings appeared in the dashboard : -adaptive cruise control problem -lane keeping assist problem -collision mitigation system problem -road departure mitigation system problem -auto high-beam problem and the amber brake system light came on permanently searched the problem on google and reddit found many Honda Odyssey owners having the same problem which is a safety issue some people took their vehicle to the dealership and have been told that the windshield camera is causing these warnings to appear because the camera is overheated by the sun, and the manufacturer did not make the camera well ventilated to dissipate heat caused by sun light.
5 warning shows up.
Warning lights for collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and several additional safety features went on without any triggering incident. Brought to the dealership, where diagnosis is dtc u3000-49 multipurpose camera unit/millimeter wave radar internal electronic failure. Technician advised that this failure often happens after a few years for no apparent reason. Repair is upwards of $4000. Without repair, none of these safety functions operate.
Turned on the car the other day and several warnings displayed on the odometer. Adaptive cruise control problem lake keeping assist problem collision mitigation problem road departure mitigation system problem auto high-beam problem other than cruise controls not working, the car works fine. I took it to the dealer, and they said the camera module behind the rear view mirror needs to be replaced. Technician claimed that because my cruise control button was left on, it kept the camera running, and basically overheated the camera to a fault. He mentioned recommending to router owners that they only turn on the cruise control button when they plan to use it, and to leave it off if not. I asked if turning the cruise control button when not in use was referenced in the owner’s manual, but he was unsure. I would have to double check, but I don’t believe that warning is there.
When I start the vehicle, I consistently get warnings for acc problem, lake keep assist problem, collision mitigation problem, road departure mitigation problem, and auto high beam problem. This occurs every time I have driven the vehicle for the past week. From cursory research, this issue commonly appears to be related to a failure of the camera module located next to the rearview mirror.
Multipurpose camera is defective. The camera is available for inspection upon request. A number of safety features do not work when this camera is not operational, including forward collision warning and lane departure warning. Honda dealership performed a diagnostic and confirmed it needs to be replaced. No other parties have inspected the camera. There were no warning messages prior to the camera failing, only after it had failed. This appears to be a common issue affecting many owners of this vehicle.
I was driving the van and all this warnings came on my dashboard. Acc adaptive cruis control problem, lane keeping assist problem, collision mittigation problem. Road departure mittigation problem. All they come one after eachother on my dashboard. I did some research and a lot of vans 2019 have the sa e issues. My friend van same problem she payed 1900 to replace the camera. This is a safety issue and it cost a lot to replace. It cannot be deactivated. I hope it will be a recall issued for this model. I have 3 minivans Honda. I never had an issue with thjs brand . The new one is terrible. . . . Thank you.
The multi-purpose camera/millimeter wave radar has been diagnosed by a certified Honda service center as having an internal failure, disabling all advanced driver assistance systems from operating as designed. These systems include: adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, collision mitigation braking, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, automatic high beam. The failure of these safety systems has increased the risk of crash and injury to the vehicle occupants.
Warnings displayed: 1. Auto high-beam problem 2. Adaptive cruise control (acc) problem 3. Lane keeping assist system (lkas) problem 4. Collision mitigation system problem 5. Road departure mitigation system problem 6. Brake system warning (red brake light illuminated) dealer diagnostic: multipurpose camera malfunctioning. Costs $2218 to replace. This should be a manufacturer recall.
Front camera stopped working, which appears to be a common problem for Honda, and deactivated all safety features that rely on camera.
Took the van to the dealership to fix a recall for the fuel pump. A few days later, error messages popped up saying there are problems with the adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, lane keep assist system, and brake system, among others. I test drove it from arcadia to pasadena on both the freeway and the sidestreets without any problems. We took it back to the dealership who assessed it and told us that the multipurpose camera was bad. It would cost us $2100 to get it fixed. We refused. No one was hurt, however, the dealership told me that there is a safety risk to my family if I did not repair it. Attached is the invoice for the last visit during which the dealership gave us the estimate for replacing the multipurpose camera.
Got my windshield replaced. Was recalibrated. Within 3 months, 5 dash lights come on. 1. Adaptive cruise control problem 2. Lane keep assist problem 3. Collision mitigation system problem 4. Road departure mitigation system problem 5. Auto high-beam problem and the brake system light is on. I was told it wasn’t the new windshield and that recalibration wouldn’t fix the problem. The code that won’t clear is u3000-49.
Forward multi purpose camera failed and cause the rest of the advance driver assist systems to malfunction.
The adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and road departure system randomly fails and does not work.
Lkas, acc, collision avoidance, auto high beam problem - all these dash lights come on due to unknown reasons. Dealership blames the windshield camera but even when replaced same issue happens. This is a major safety concern and is a frequent issue amongst 2018- 2025 Honda Odyssey owners. It’s possible that the issue is electrical canbus issue. Please help.
8/10 times when turning on and driving the vehicle, an error pops up on the dash indicating the lkas and acc no longer work. Dealer found the code was u3000-49, they could not get it to clear. Sometimes the car will start without the problem, but then at some point through the drive it will occur and lkas and cruise control will no longer be avaliable.
Lkas, acc, collision avoidance, road departure, auto high beam problem, and brake system - all these dash lights come on due to unknown reasons. New battery and terminal connections have good contact. Four safety features are now inoperative and no cruise control.
Monocular camera failure. Diagnosed by Honda dealership. Safety risk because the adaptive cruise control, auto high beam, road departure mitigation system and collision mitigation system no longer work properly. The warning lamps are continuously on the car, reporting this problem as well.
The monocular camera went out unexpectedly for my van back in March 2025. I have multiple failure warnings that all of the van's safety features were disabled. The van had around 80k miles at the time and Honda dealer quoted me well over $2000 dollars to rectify the problem. Looked through forums and online groups and realized it was a very common issues with late model Hondas. Seems like the internal electronic is cooked by heat over time and caused the camera module to go out prematurely. I ended up buying a module from Honda and had an independent shop to calibrate it for the van which still cost me well over $1000 out of pocket.
Out of nowhere I received 5 warnings regarding adaptive cruise control, collusion mitigation, lane keep assistant, automatic high beam. . . Etc failure. Upon restarting the car, the warnings would clear itself on occasion but would reappear on following start up.
This is my second 2019 Honda Odyssey that has multipurpose camera unit internal electronic failure(error code u3000-49). Failed camera causing the whole adas system to stop functioning. This part shouldn't fail in 6 year old 50000 miles car. I will also report on my second Honda Odyssey which I had the same issue last year.
Dealer states that non oem glass caused the front camera module to overheat due to overwork, currently broken and needing replacement. The glass that was installed was not eom but is made for front facing cameras so this seems very weird and sensitive. The replacement glass was put in two years ago but I am just now having this issue. Again, this doesn't seem to match their reasoning. Error code#u3000-49 2019 Honda Odyssey part: 36160thra11 error messages. * collision mitigation * lka * adaptive cruise * lane departure mitigation * auto high beam.
Front camera went out which controls most of the safety features of the car.
Within 6 months of purchase (no accidents or related issues), the car starts firing off a wide range of alerts on the dashboard about failures. These include collision mitigation braking system (cmbs), road departure mitigation (rdm), or adaptive cruise control, auto high-beam problem, and lane keeping assist problems. There are many reported issues like this online and it’s a clear failure of on Honda’s part to provide working safety features that they advertise.
All the symbols related adas suddenly popped in my car with no rain or snow or any accidents. When I checked with Honda dealership, they said it caused due to software issue and nothing related hardware and it needed 2500$ for replacing the entire system. If it is software causing this issue why would customer had to pay for it, and it could be a recall. I noticed similar issue for all 2019 and above models.
Front camera appears to have gone out in 2025. All safety features inoperable and constant flashing of warnings making it impossible to determine if anything is actually wrong. Collision mitigation failure, blind spot failure, transmission failure, brake system failure, blind spot. Those control etc. Honda has confirmed its issue with front camera.
Multipurpose camera facing front on top of windshield works intermittently. 20% of the time it works fine, usually the first drive of the morning when the car is cool. 80% of the time, within 60 seconds upon startup there are 5 bright orange warning lights that come on all related to a malfunction in the multipurpose camera. These are: adaptive cruise control failure, collision mitigation system failure, lane keeping assistance problem, road departure assistance problem, auto-high beam failure. Most concerning is that the “brake system” light stays illuminated orange after these warnings come on. My car will not pass inspection if it happens to have these intermittent warnings happen that trip. This started 1 month ago, out of the blue. From what I read online in reddit and ody. Com…this multipurpose camera failure happens to many people at the 4-5 year mark. One person has a video posted about how it’s the camera overheating…it becomes too hot to touch. If you pour water on the windshield outside it will cool it off enough to work again. I think this is a malfunction/manufacturing defect in the camera itself. It should not randomly fail after only 4-5 years. It’s connected to all these vital safety systems. The repair cost quoted to me is $2686. 88 + tax. This is so expensive and I cannot afford to fix this. I don’t need the camera because I learned to drive without all these features, but I cannot remove this option. So, I’m stuck with having to pay a huge amount for something that is a manufacturing defect in the camera itself.
2019 Honday Odyssey. Front camera failure is causing subsequent failure of several features to include: front brake assist and crash avoidance, lane keep assist, auto high beam, auto cruise control. Honda denies responsibility or acknowledgment that this is a faulty part and the out of pocket cost of replacement is ~$1500. This is unacceptable for a 5 year car and creates a serious driving hazard.
Multipurpose camera failed at 110000 miles. This causes deactivation of the lane keep assist, collision mitigation, road departure mitigation, auto high beam and cruise control systems. The primary advanced safety features of the vehicle are disabled due to this issue. Issue has been reported to the dealer and they state that it is a common issue, but no recall or TSB for it yet. Warning lights come up on the dash every time the vehicle is turned on.
Brought my 2019 odessey to the dealership shortly after I had the following error messages appeared on my dashboard: brake system, auto high-beam problem, collision mitigation system problem, lane keeping assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, & adaptive cruise control problem. Sometimes these pop-up intermittently. Other codes I've seen twice since this issue started are transmission system problem and blind spot info system problem. The dealership mentioned that these error codes are most likely associated with the other codes mentioned above. Did a diagnostic at the dealership and they initially cleared all codes and u300-49 returned and they are recommending replacing the multi-purpose camara unit and they are charging $2,256. 95 for this to be done. This repair is costly and from what I understand is a common issue for odessey owners. In addition, since this little part seems responsible for upholding these safety features it seems ridiculous that we paid good money to have this vehicle, but our all these safety features seem to be on hold until we get this costly repair done. I personally don't feel 100% safe driving the vehicle. To me, it feels like a gamble to put my family and the public in danger by driving the vehicle because every time I turn on the vehicle the warning sounds beep and flash, I don't feel safe.
Adas system has failed. Out of the blue, multiple warning lights have came on at the same time. This failed system is a danger by taking away some important safety features of the vehicle. -collision mitigation system problem -auto high beam problem -road departure mitigation system problem -lane keeping assist problem -adaptive cruise control problem vehicle has been taken to local mechanic to check codes. Codes cleared yet returned immediately. Seems to be an issue with a multipurpose camera in the front.
