36 Assist problem of the 2020 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 08/14/2025

For the past couple of weeks, every time I drive the car, I get a number of error messages regarding problems with the advanced driver assistance features. These include: "adaptive cruise control problem", "collision mitigation system problem", lane keeping assist problem", "road departure mitigation system problem", and "auto high-beam problem". A diagnostic check showed error u3000-49, namely "control module internal electronic failure". I took it to a shop, they ran diagnostics and told me I needed to replace the multifunction camera in the windshield. It seems to be a common problem and is very expensive to fix, at more than $2000.

5 major safety systems are automatically disabled and on further troubleshooting by the dealer, all these issues are pointing to a faulty front collision avoidance camera. The cost to replace and recalibrate the camera is upwards of $2400. This is absolutely ridiculous and seems like a safety recall issue.

38 Assist problem of the 2019 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

2019 Honda Odyssey began having intermittent display, that progressed to constant display, of multiple warning messages regarding safety features related to multiocular/multipurpose camera unit. Vehicle is unable to perform lkas, acc, lane departure assist, autobraking, etc. Honda dealership states this is a well known issue related to a faulty camera that has to be replaced to utilize these safety features. Without replacement, the vehicle display is overtaken by a recurring onslaught of warning messages making instrument panel difficult to view. The specific part is listed as "2019 Honda Odyssey - camera assembly monocular (rewritable) - Honda (36160-thr-a11)" and the error code is u3000-49.

39 Assist problem of the 2019 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

When my car hit 40000 miles or so, I started getting all sorts of warning lights showing up when I turned my car on. Took my car in to Honda today, and they said upon checking it that the multifunction camera which is located behind the rear view mirror has stopped working. The car has 44,500 miles on it. It has been in no accidents. There seems to be no reason for such a part to just stop working (needing a $2500 repair to fix).

40 Assist problem of the 2020 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 07/31/2025

Upon start up my 2020 Honda Odyssey ex-l throws a slew of pop-up’s on the dash (collision mitigation problem, auto high beam problem, adaptive cruise control problem, lane keep assist problem, road departure mitigation problem). It's been doing this for months, but when it started, I had just gotten an oil change 2 weeks prior and knew my mechanic would've caught this if it was something major. Last week I took it back in for another oil change and asked them to check these errors. They checked the battery and it’s fine (under 2 years old), but they confirmed it's the adaptive cruise control camera. They said not many places work on those cameras and I'll have to have the dealer do the repair. Well upon searching, it seems pretty consistent that this repair is costing owners $1700 because the camera has to be recalibrated with the software after it's replaced. I'm also seeing this problem appears to be widespread for Honda owners. Honda needs to do something to make this right for their customers. A $1700 repair for a camera that randomly dies by no fault of the owner is insane, and considering how many driver assistance systems to improve safety are affected, Honda should be held accountable. 41 Assist problem of the 2018 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 07/28/2025

The sensor/computer/camera on the windshield overheats and causes it to fail mines at 100,000 and its a $1600 repair dealer said because the windshield sits in sun while driving etc and the sensor overheats and melts the inside of the computer soldering. Unacceptable so much for my safety features all gone I dont have the money to replace.

42 Assist problem of the 2020 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 07/22/2025

My Honda's multipurpose camera system has failed without warning or apparent cause. Upon starting my vehicle, I now receive multiple alert lights indicating simultaneous failures in critical safety systems including: adaptive cruise control (acc) lane keeping assist system (lkas) collision mitigation system road departure mitigation system auto high beam functionality occasionally, all the system failure alerts go away. According to my local Honda dealership, this represents an "internal failure" of the multipurpose camera unit (code u300-49). The dealership wants >$2,000 to fix the issue that appears to be a widespread known problem. There was no warning before the complete system shutdown, and all safety features connected to this camera are now non-functional.

43 Assist problem of the 2019 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 07/10/2025

I am submitting this complaint to report a serious and recurring safety issue with my Honda Odyssey involving the front monocular camera system. After stopping for fuel and restarting the vehicle, multiple warning messages and fault codes appeared on the dashboard simultaneously, including: -collision mitigation system problem -adaptive cruise control problem -lane keep assist problem -auto high beam problem these systems are all disabled due to a failure of the front monocular camera. This failure occurred without warning and immediately compromised several critical driver-assistance and safety features. Based on my research and discussions with other Honda Odyssey owners, this is a known and widespread issue. Honda is aware that the front monocular camera is prone to failure, and numerous owners have reported identical symptoms and error codes. Despite this, no recall has been issued. The required repair involves replacement and recalibration of the front camera and carries an estimated cost of approximately $1,500, which places a significant financial burden on owners for what appears to be a known defect. More importantly, the sudden loss of collision mitigation, lane assist, and adaptive cruise control presents a clear safety concern, especially when drivers rely on these systems during normal operation. Given the safety implications and the number of reported cases, I believe this issue warrants further investigation and a formal recall by Honda. Owners should not be responsible for the cost of repairing a known defect that disables critical safety systems. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

44 Assist problem of the 2018 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 07/09/2025

The adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane keep assist and other safety features have stopped working as indicated by errors displayed on dashboard. Suspect front camera is malfunctioning but has not been confirmed by independent service center. At first, this seemed to be an intermittent issue, but now the error messages appear every time the car is used.

45 Assist problem of the 2019 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 07/07/2025

The multipurpose camera has an internal failure at 105 thousand miles. This controls the automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and more. This safety features such as emergency braking, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning are important safety features. All of these features help drivers avoid collisions by acting to correct or avoid collisions or accidents faster or earlier than drivers can react. The Honda dealership service department has confirmed that the multipurpose camera had an internal failure, but did not provide a reason and there was no inciting incident during driving or ownership that caused this. The Honda dealership service department has been inspected and diagnosed that the multipurpose camera had an internal failure. No, there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. They only appeared after the failure, and the failure happened without warning. The failure first appeared on July 7th, 2025.

49 Assist problem of the 2020 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 06/26/2025

The multipurpose camera unit failed in my 2020 Honda Odyssey. This camera is responsible for enabling multiple advanced driver-assistance systems, including the collision mitigation braking system (cmbs), lane keeping assist system (lkas), road departure mitigation system (rdm), adaptive cruise control, and auto high beams. The component has not been replaced yet and is available for inspection upon request. The failure of the camera disabled multiple critical safety systems while the vehicle was in operation. These systems are designed to prevent lane departures, collisions, and unintentional road exits, especially at higher speeds. With the systems offline, I was at increased risk of collision or lane departure, particularly on highways or in low visibility conditions. This malfunction removed key layers of protection that the vehicle is designed to provide. The issue was confirmed by a Honda dealership on August 8th 2025, which diagnosed the problem as a failed multipurpose camera unit. They acknowledged that this malfunction disables all related safety systems. The vehicle was inspected by a certified Honda dealership technician, but not by police, insurance, or the manufacturer directly at this time. Multiple dashboard warning messages appeared simultaneously one day when starting the vehicle, including: "collision mitigation system problem" "road departure mitigation system problem" "lane keeping assist problem" "adaptive cruise control problem" "auto high-beam problem" these messages first appeared on or around the end of June 2025, and the systems were disabled immediately upon the failure.

50 Assist problem of the 2019 Honda Odyssey

Warning for lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, auto high beam, collision mitigation, and road departure all populated at once. The functionality does not work, even regular cruise control without the adaptive feature. There have been many reports of this issue with fixes upwards of $3,000. Appears to be a faulty camera. This is a safety issue and should be addressed and recalled.

51 Assist problem of the 2025 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 06/20/2025

We get a warning light saying "adaptive cruise control system problem". Van has 4200 miles and it happens during hot days, usually at lunch time. I took it to dealer "Honda cars of rock hill, SC" but they told me there is no code showing up in the van. I emailed Honda America with video but so far no response. The system just goes crazy, beeping and the cruise control is no responsive to cancel button or anything. We are not even using the adaptive cruise control when this happens. After you drive for a while, it goes away, like nothing happened. But when another hot summer day comes, around lunch time, it goes. . . It does it pretty much during high temps. Never in the evening or night time. Here is link to youtube video I sent to Honda: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Make: Honda Odyssey 2020 mileage at failure: ~40,000 miles incident description what component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the front sensing camera system failed, which controls multiple driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control (acc), lane keeping assist system (lkas), lane departure mitigation, and collision mitigation braking system. When the issue occurred, all related dashboard warning lights illuminated simultaneously. The vehicle’s front camera module is still installed and can be made available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? when the camera malfunctioned, all driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems were disabled without warning. This created a serious safety concern because the vehicle unexpectedly lost its lane-keeping, adaptive cruise control, and collision mitigation capabilities while in motion. It increased the risk of a crash, especially during highway driving or when relying on these systems for lane and speed control. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes. The Honda dealership confirmed the issue after diagnostic testing and stated that the front camera module had failed and must be replaced. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? the vehicle has been inspected by the authorized Honda dealership. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes. The dashboard displayed multiple warning messages, including: acc, lkas, collision mitigation, lane departure mitigation these warnings appeared suddenly at approximately 40,000 miles and have persisted since. The dealer quoted $2500 also I found numerous reports from other Honda owners experiencing the same camera-system failure at low millages.

64 Assist problem of the 2018 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 05/05/2025

Vehicle is indicating all sensing system not working such as lane keeping assist system, collision mitigation braking system, road departure warning system, adaptive cruise control and others. Honda installed a cheap product on this vehicle when it was originally manufactured and is double dipping by selling us in a 7 year period another set of the same cheap product . Dealer is quoting me $3,139. 80 to replace a radar and a camera both at the same time.

65 Assist problem of the 2018 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 05/05/2025

Driving on the freeway my lane keeping assistance, automatic emergency breaking, and adaptive cruise control warnings were flashing. The prompts keep my focus off the road as the beeps and flashing orange lights cannot be disabled. During my drive, the multicamera on the windshield seems to be malfunctions and often I would get a signal of on coming traffic and my steering wheel would vibrate to prompt me to move. This can be extremely terrifying and sometimes caused me to swerve, potentially hitting other cars. The multicamera needs to be recalled and fixed.

66 Assist problem of the 2019 Honda Odyssey

Front camera stopped working, which appears to be a common problem for Honda, and deactivated all safety features that rely on camera.

67 Assist problem of the 2019 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 04/23/2025

Took the van to the dealership to fix a recall for the fuel pump. A few days later, error messages popped up saying there are problems with the adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, lane keep assist system, and brake system, among others. I test drove it from arcadia to pasadena on both the freeway and the sidestreets without any problems. We took it back to the dealership who assessed it and told us that the multipurpose camera was bad. It would cost us $2100 to get it fixed. We refused. No one was hurt, however, the dealership told me that there is a safety risk to my family if I did not repair it. Attached is the invoice for the last visit during which the dealership gave us the estimate for replacing the multipurpose camera.

68 Assist problem of the 2020 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 04/18/2025

There is some electrical or sensor issue with the 2020 Honda Odyssey ex-LS. All my dashboard lights turn on, then I take it to the dealership to tell me they just had to do a system update. This is the 3rd time it has happened. This issue needs to be investigated. Honda is robbing me and many other owners of this issue.

69 Assist problem of the 2020 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 04/08/2025

Basically, numerous errors lite up the dashboard. But the car itself was running ok mechanically. I took it in for service and after a couple of non sensical diagnoses. It was determined to be the multipurpose camera in the windshield area. And they want two thousand dollars to fix it. I know most people purchased a vehicle like this in order not to encounter repair bills like this (that aren’t the engine). A simple and obsolete electric should be pretty simple to swap out.

70 Assist problem of the 2019 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 04/06/2025

Upon starting the car, multiple alerts came on the dashboard reporting faults with multiple systems. There was no damage to the car, it had been parked safely and appropriately prior to starting. Dealership inspected the issue and reported the camera/sensor system in the windshield behind the rear view mirror is faulty. This faulty camera now causes multiple systems off line as the sensor is no longer reliable. This is a safety issue as this sensor assists with split second support to the driver to prevent collisions, leaving your lane or speed adjustment with cruise control.
