Improper seal on the seam (?) above let water leak into my power tailgate control module. It caused all the dash lights to sporadically rapidly flash, told me I have a transmission problem and my blind spot warning didn’t work right. Pulled out the tailgate module to find water in the module with a failed circuit board. Also wires leading into the module were wet.

The tailgate control module has been water damaged and needed to be replaced twice. My local Honda dealership was unable to correct the issue and stated that it is due to a water leak in the frame of the vehicle/tailgate. The dealership has identified the tailgate control module as the cause of the electrical issues causing the battery to die, and advanced safety features to malfunction. Warning lights came on for break system problem, lane departure mitigation system problem, and many other systems all caused by the tailgate control module being water damaged from a leak in the frame.
The front right sensor goes off randomly. Sometimes all day long for days, then nothing for a week or 2 then back to it. Various lengths of time, usually stressfully long times, with nothing aroundcausing stress and making fucus hard. It started a few months after getting the van. We cleaned it, had the dealer inspect it and no one has ever figured out why we have to live with this blaring warning alarm. The dash says object warning with it and if I close that out nothing stops the alarm but putting it in park which I can't do on the interstate or in pickup line at school.

2020 Honda Odyssey ex lkas, collision avoidance, auto high beam etc. Warning lights to cycle continuously. Had my Honda mechanic check problem and camera monocular, forward facing camera causing issues and requires replacement. This is only a 5 year old vehicle with 60,000 miles on it! Honda and many used auto parts want upwards of $850 for camera and then as much as $1500 to replace. This is a serious safety issue. None of this vehicles safety assist items work without this camera.
Blind spot monitoring system does not register vehicles sometimes. Sometimes when passing a vehicle, light does not illuminate. Sometimes cars will pass the vehicle and light does not illuminate.

One light on dashboard lit up, started as "blind spot info system problem", light would go on and off for couple of years. Now every light on dashboard lights up, including lane assist, blind spot infor system problem, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control problem, rear cross traffic warning, lane departure warning.
The camera controlling many systems regarding safety failed and caused numerous warning lights to come on. Complete camera replacement was necessary.
After we took the car in all of a sudden randomly these warning lights will come on and my d for drive keeps flashing. Lkas, acc, collision avoidance, auto high beam problem and brake system warning. Sometimes some of them sometimes all of them. I read it’s a common problem but there hasn’t been a recall on it.
All of the warning lights shows up on the dash board. Honda told me it’s related to a bad multi purpose camera. None of the safety features or cruise control will work until the camera is fixed.
Center camera has gone out. Millions of vans in the same position as me.
Hello, my front collision camera is not working and I am getting all sorts of safety related error codes. I took it to Honda for an evaluation and they told me I would need to $1300 to fix part number 36160-thr-a74. As of now all the safety features have been disabled. These are the codes I am getting: adaptive cruise control automatic emergency braking blind spot warning forward collision warning lane departure warning lane keeping assistance.
Was driving on my way to work and I heard a sharp sound while going up a hill. I then got warnings that said transmission issue, pull over immediately when safe and the car shifted itself into neutral. I was in the middle of traffic and lost all acceleration controls, while being forced out of the drive gear. I lost all speed and had to move through traffic and get to a side street. The same thing happened to me about a year and a half ago. It was covered by a warranty but I still was experiencing losses of car power or stalling.
The multipurpose camera in the vehicle failed, causing multiple warning lights to come on related to the collision warning, blind spot warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and others. The dealership said it needed to be replaced, as it was no longer working and none of these features would work without replacement.
The multi-purpose camera/millimeter wave radar has been diagnosed by a certified Honda service center as having an internal failure, disabling all advanced driver assistance systems from operating as designed. These systems include: adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, collision mitigation braking, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, automatic high beam. The failure of these safety systems has increased the risk of crash and injury to the vehicle occupants.
My radar and multipurpose camera need replacement.
I was unable to utilize my cruise control, forward collision warning, lane departure or any of the features that is related to the Honda sensing program. I was told by the Honda dealership that it was the camera refocusing and continue to refocus which leads for it to overheat.
The multipurpose camera on the windshield needs to be recalibrated and I've been told by dealerships that this is a common problem with 2018 Honda Odyssey. Unless I pay over $2000 to have the camera recalibrated, systems including the antilock brake system do not work.
It started that all the sensor in our car started to go off. We were told we had a bad battery, even thought we had replaced it new just last year. Once we had the battery checked and alternator. The sensors started to act up again, out tail gate started to malfunction. Wouldn’t automatically close. A few weeks ago driving down the road the tail gate opened and the anti theft system started going off while the car was running and still going. Come to find out there is a water leak in the rear that has gotten into the rear fuse box and has cause substantial corrosion. The latch to the tail gate is broken. Honda is telling us our extended warranty doesn’t cover any of this, even though it is common knowledge, that the water leak is a known problem from 2018-2021. We just found out a few days ago.

This is my second 2019 Honda Odyssey that has multipurpose camera unit internal electronic failure(error code u3000-49). Failed camera causing the whole adas system to stop functioning. This part shouldn't fail in 6 year old 50000 miles car. I will also report on my second Honda Odyssey which I had the same issue last year.
The entire advanced driver assistance system failed. My vehicle has not been inspected. The entire adas does not work upon startup.
Went to leave my house at 8pm and the car was malfunctioning. Blind spot problem, parking sensor problem, road departure mitigation system problem, auto engine idle stop problem . Lights flickering on and off, console lights not working, can’t control heating speed. Light would not stay on as I was driving . I have a couple videos of the malfunction.
While driving at 25-30 mph, all of a sudden the 2 warning signs came “transmission system problem” and “blind spot info system problem. ” the “d” in the dashboard started blinking. When I put the vehicle in park at a stop light, the “p” also blinked. After a couple of minutes of this I pulled over and turned the car off. A few minutes later I restarted the engine and these warning lights have not come back in the last 5 drives. I read online that this may be a software glitch that needs updating (which I think is a manufacturer defect). I do feel like the car was a bit jumpy while these warnings were going off and I was terrified that it would put itself into park while I was driving and cause an accident.
All warning lights turned on about 9. Emissions system problem, transmission system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, power steering system (eps) problem, vehicle stability assist (vsa) problem, hill start assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, blind spot info system problem. Steering becomes really difficult, reverse and forward gives out and really hard to control vehicle. Not able to accelerate. This problem happened out of nowhere no issues prior to the lights coming on took it to Honda they said there was no problem and they had not experienced this problem before. This is about the fourth time this happens now did my research and other owners of similar vehicles have the same issues.
It first started with the power tailgate failure which I brought it to Honda who are aware that there is a faulty sealant that is causing water to get into these Odysseys. They refuse to fix the issues and they are very costly. My van has never been in an accident. Now I'm getting all sorts of warnings from the adas system. Honda has refused to fix their issues and I can not afford $7000 cost to get this cleared up. People who own these vans are complaining and no one is doing enough to get this recalled.
Adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, automatic braking, auto beam functions stopped working.
September 2024, I bought my car to the dealership to check multiple warning lights showed up on my dashboard. The dealer read the code and determine the multipurpose windshield camera had internal malfunction. The dealer told me that my multipurpose windshield camera need to be replace on my 60k mi 2020 Odyssey ex-l for ~$2. 3k in conshohocken PA. I had many of those sensor lights on (e. G. Acc, lane assist, collision mitigation) and saw many comments on a youtube video (Honda Odyssey warning lights bonanza get ready to pay). Do my research online; seem like this happened a lot for the Honda Odyssey from year 2017 to year 2020 hope NHTSA will investigate on this issue. It a very expensive fix for the vehicle barely break in. With all those safety feature disengage/malfunction at the same time, it is a very dangerous issue.
After a slight rain, the error of radar obstructed is being displayed. Can’t get this error removed or fixed. After searching more I found out that: 1. Honda has a defective design in the advanced driver assistance systems (adas) of all Honda Odysseys, models 2018-2023. 2. Namely, Honda has placed the radar behind the large Honda emblem on the front grille. This causes the radar to give a "radar obstructed" warning, which disables all advanced driver assistance systems in the car (automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning). 3. The "radar obstructed" warning cannot be reset by restarting the vehicle or disconnecting the battery, requiring recalibration of the radar at the cost of $800 each time since it takes several hours to do (per dealership). 4. The official Honda Odyssey forum online has countless complaints on the same issue without resolution by Honda. 5. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers since this defect impacts the vehicle's advanced safety features for which buyers incur additional expenses, endangering the lives of passengers. 6. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers by designing a system that requires continuous and substantial expenditures without resolution because it is an engineering problem, I. E. , the placement of the radar behind the large, thick plastic h emblem obstructs the radar. 7. I hereby ask that the NHTSA investigate this issue and order Honda to offer a solution in the form of a recall that permanently addresses the problem.
Random multifunction camera failure triggering lots of errors. Needed to pay dealership over 2000 to fix. Safety issue as it disables blind spot detection, lane change, collision warnings etc.
1. The multipurpose camera, which is needed for the adas to function has malfunctioned. Yes, it is available for inspection request. 2. The malfunctioning multipurpose camera caused the advanced driver-assistance systems (adas) to perform unreliably. Features such as lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and collision warning either stopped working or provided false alerts. This created unpredictable driving conditions, as I could not rely on the systems to detect other vehicles, maintain lane position, or warn of potential collisions. The issue increased the risk of an accident for me and for other drivers or pedestrians, especially in traffic or on highways. Upon doing some research, it seems clear that this is a wide-spread problem, which Honda has not issued a recall about. 3. Yes, this has been reproduced and confirmed by a dealer. 4. No, it has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance rep. 5. No, there were not any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure.
It is available for inspection on request. Lost blindspot info, lost use of turn indicators, rear door hatch malfunction, several warnings flash up while driving. I was in a busy area and didn't have a way to signal my movements, screen flashing warnings was terrifying, the van felt like it might turn off at any moment. Before the most recent incident, we had brought the van to Honda dealer for repair, for similar issues that occured at start-up, they found water in the power control unit in rear left area of van that caused corrosion and short-circuit. No body damage or alterations to vehicle. Replaced unit and after rainy weather problems recurred at start up and power down, then while driving, they tested the battery and it was almost dead (the battery was only 1 month old) replaced battery. Problems recurred and water found again. Significant leak suspected but not found yet as the service department won't evaluate the seals, and told us it's a body-shop task. Summary: intermittent left-side passenger door and rear hatch door malfunction, blind spot system warnings/loss, loss of turn indication, brake system warnings, other system warnings, difficulty starting the car and turning the car off, brand new battery drained while the car was parked and turned off. This manufacturing defect should be addressed by Honda, seals should not fail when exposed to regular conditions. Water should not enter the vehicle and short out an important component leading to several malfunctions that could cause loss of important systems and rear-door latch while driving.
1. Issue: *multiple (5+) warning lights on dash [I. E. Road departure mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, lane keeping assist problem, auto high beam warning, collision mitigation system problem etc. ] 2. Honda dealer diagnosed & confirmed the issue as "multi purpose internal camera failure" 3. A failed camera affects safety related functionality which affects the safety of both driver and other drivers. 4. The issue first appeared March 16th, 2024.
The van has been giving me issues with stalling jerking losing power while driving when I found there was a recall Honda told me I had to wait til srptember I dont have til September this is my only vehicle gid I hope it does not fail me or my kids.
All of a sudden every adas system went down. When starting the vehicle I get numerous errors displayed - all having to do with the adas. The forward facing camera is the cause of this and it is a known systemic issue within Honda. All safety features are now disabled and the vehicle has the original camera and windshield.
