Suddenly one day in the morning taking my car from my garage, all alarms in my board turned on and stopped working: automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, forward and collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance and rear cross traffic warning. I bring my car to the mclarty Honda service in little rock, ar. After calibration showed that I need a new multipurpose camera code u 3000-49. This is major concern for me. My van is in perfect shape, only 7 years old not so many miles. Doing some research sounds like this is an issue with Honda vehicles. My neighborhood is full of kids ( I have 3 kids too)with these large vehicles you can find a lot of blinds spots and these features help to keep everybody safe. I believe this a safety issue that need to be recalled in Honda's cars.

The windshield-mounted front camera assembly (part number 36160?thr?a81) that powers lkas, acc, collision mitigation, auto high beam, and other safety systems has failed on my 2018 Honda Odyssey. When the camera fails, multiple critical safety systems become disabled at once, posing a significant risk to driver and road safety. " supporting evidence from other owners: Honda Odyssey owner posted in a parts-related forum: > “the Honda garage wants $1. 5k to replace the front camera, but I’m wondering why it catastrophically failed after 3. 5 years and 30,000 miles!” a documented complaint filed with NHTSA highlights a very similar situation: > “all Honda sensing technology is not working… acc, lkas, collision mitigation, auto high beam… many warning lights appear on the dash… diagnostics… indicated the issue may be related to a manufacturer defect… dealership… said the monocular camera was defective… the contact… replaced the defective monocular camera, … once the repair occurred, all of the messages and lights… cleared and all of the safety systems… are now working correctly. ” costs: owners have reported paying approximately $750 for the camera part and another $500 for calibration, totaling around $1,250. We have even been quoted $2,500 to replace the front camera. Safety risk: the failure disables multiple driver-assistive safety systems simultaneously, increasing risk of collision — especially since these systems (acc, lkas, collision mitigation) are intended to help prevent accidents. Conclusion / call for action: given the frequency of similar reports, recurring nature of the front camera failure (36160?thr?a81) in 2018–2019 Odyssey models, the high cost of repair, and the safety-critical systems that fail when this component fails, I believe this qualifies as a design or manufacturing defect. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this issue and consider issuing a recall for affected vehicles.
This vehicle had the recall repaired for the most bus cable issue that Honda has. Now they vehicle is back having the same issue and Honda has not done another recall for the issue starting again for the same thing this is a safety issue. You lose all rear warnings cameras and detection. Honda will not repair the recalled issue again. They have not properly fixed it.

We were driving on the freeway when the car it stalled and place itself in neutral. We were unable to put it in park or drive. So we started googling while we were also trying to get a tow truck and we just decided to turn off the car and turn it back on and hoping for the best and we were able to put it back in drive and safely drive home definitely there’s a problem with the transmission or something electronical.

The adas front windshield camera failed on our 2020 Honda Odyssey. This vehicle is too new to have a failure like this and this is a very common issue that I have seen across all Honda Odysseys of same generation. Honda needs to be held accountable.

Complete infotainment system loss and screen blackouts repeated “network connection lost” errors inoperative reverse camera and parking assist systems ongoing 12v battery drainage due to system faults my Honda dealer has diagnosed the problem as a defective floor wire harness and advised that the entire harness kit must be replaced at an estimated cost of approximately $7,000. While I greatly appreciate the 80% goodwill coverage already offered, the remaining $1,400 out-of-pocket expense is still a significant hardship — particularly since this is a known and documented defect affecting vehicle safety systems. This issue directly impacts the federally mandated rear visibility system (fmvss 111), rendering the reverse camera and related safety functions inoperative. As such, this is not simply a convenience or infotainment problem, but a critical safety concern. Honda is charging $7000 to fix it and now it says it’s the floor harness kit. They are only covering 80%. I’m required to pay 1400 even though this is a known problem with this vehicle and it’s been occurring since I have owned the vehicle due to multiple visits to the dealership for a resolution, thousands of dollars being spent trying to figure out what it was, we already replaced the head unit and head unit harness, multiple sensors on the doors, which were not even necessary because the battery was draining from the head unit and now I have no camera and my car is crashing and shutting off and Honda is refusing to escalate.
Monocular camera failure. Diagnosed by Honda dealership. Safety risk because the adaptive cruise control, auto high beam, road departure mitigation system and collision mitigation system no longer work properly. The warning lamps are continuously on the car, reporting this problem as well.
The power tail gate stopped working on 1/28/2025. After diagnosis the power tail gate and it's controls on passenger side rear control panel it is observed that there is water on the controls module. Part 74970-thr-a12control module for tailgate has been taken out and found that the water coming though it's sockets. The $200 new control module will temporarily fix the issue but the defective rear body seam seals made of polyurethane that allow water to leak into the rear driver’s side panels can cause the following issues. The tailgate opens and closes at random, the tailgate stays open or fails to close, tailgate short circuits and causes a fire, water leaks cause mold and rusting. I request Honda to take responsibility of the issue and fix the problem making sure it meet the safety standards.
The Honda monocular camera is apparently causing malfunctions and or warning lights. This is impacting many Odyssey owners according to my research. This should be addressed by Honda and reimbursement or repair covered as a recall.
Monocular camera failed, all warning shown in the dashboard.
Adaptive cruise control, forward collision warnin, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assistance lights came on and won't go away. Sometime the car won't reverse when put in reverse.
This is the second time I’ve had to bring my car in. I have a variety of different warning signs popping up and I see that I’m not the only person that this is happened to when I look at reddit online the malfunction is somewhere within the car system and it’s because of a windshield camera, which has nothing to do with the, warning signs that I am getting on my car. This needs to be recalled and fixed for free.
Rear backup camera stopped working. Currently there is an active recall for 2018 Odysseys on all trim levels VIN specific but somehow our VIN number isn’t covered under the recall. I followed service bulletin 20-060 and it fixed the problem.
All of my safety sensors no longer work. Warning lights for all sensors are on at all times.
Honda has a recall notice to repair the rear camera. We took the car in to get the recall service. The camera stopped working. Honda told us the diagnostic to determine what wasn't working on the camera would cost hundreds of dollars. This was recall service that disabled the camera. We should not be charged and they have messed up our car system.
Hi, a driver of a 2021 Honda Odyssey ex-l struck and ran over my 6 yr old child, driver was unable to see the child sitting on the driveway ground from his view, if this Honda Odyssey ex-l would have parking sensors this accident would be avoided. I urge you to request Honda to install this feature in all Honda Odyssey models as this feature can save lives. Thanks.

The vehicle is currenting having an issue with the most feature which is causing a static sound coming from the speakers as well as the dvd/cd player not working at all. Once in a while when idling with brake on the vehicle will shut and down and restart on its on quickly. When this happens multiple warnings will appear on the dashes warning system. Some of these warnings are mitigation collision warning, cruise control, and low power.
Brought the car in to get fixed for a static issue on the stereo. And it would no longer beep when getting close to a object backing up.
I was backing up and the camera failed to warning me of people walking behind me or the vehicle passing.
The multi function display froze up at beginning of the power cycle with an error message about apple carplay not available. All other functions of the display were also frozen out such that the front window defogger, and backup camera would not function. The frozen display lasted throughout the entire drive cycle and even remained after the car was parked for 15 approximately 15 minutes. Full function returned on the next drive cycle about 40 minutes later. Dealership confirmed that a code was stored but did not give the code. Dealership requested a $75 charge in order to update the software in the multi function device. This device is required to operate defrost and backup camera functions so expect this is a safety critical concern.
Anytime the temperature is below freezing (32f), the infotainment system fails to boot. This prevents us from properly defrosting windows for visibility, or using the rear-view camera while backing, or accessing many of the other features of the vehicle that are controlled by the infotainment unit. The lack of a rear-view camera is especially concerning on a van with otherwise poor rearward visibility through mirrors. Many people have car seats in their Mini-van which further obstructs rearward visibility without the camera. We have visited the dealer numerous times for a fix for this issue, and there either is none, or Honda's dealers arent interested in fixing it. Essentially, we are without most of the vehicles advanced features whenever it is cold outside.
Driving 60mph on the highway, everything electrical shut off and on several times. The dash screen, the touch screen, the ac, the lights. I immediately took an exit and got off, and when the rebooting stopped I was going about 30mph and the car shifted by itself into park. Then there was a horrible grinding sound of metal on metal. . . I hit the brakes to pull off the road the car got under 20mph and stopped instantaneously. I had the car towed to my local Honda dealership and they said they cannot replicate the issue, nor see any error codes. They will not take apart anything to check for damage to the parking rod because there were no error codes. . . And they want me to pick up the vehicle today.
Recall # 20v-438 incomplete. Parts ordered 12/16/2020 . Parts have not arrived as of 4/3/2021.
