Engine problems of the 1998 Honda Passport

Three problems related to engine have been reported for the 1998 Honda Passport. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2004

Excessive valve train noise at 84000 miles, was told this is a common problem with these vehicles however no recall or help info exists at Honda motor, similar problems reported with isuzu rodeo engines (same model), I am unsure of extent of damage or engine reliablity.

2 Engine problem

Failure Date: 10/10/1999

While entering the main highway in rainy conditions the car died. Consumer lost power steering control, and crashed into a guardrail.

3 Engine problem

Failure Date: 06/24/1998

Motor mounts and drive shaft replaced,vehicle slips, drive shaft replaced 2nd time vehicle continued to slip. Yh.
