Gasoline Storage problems of the 2000 Honda Passport

Honda Passport 2000: continuous failure of the gas sensor in the gas tank. Expensive procedure to fix and I have also been advised by dealer that the repair is costly and not effective. Because it causes the obc to "check engine" car always fails state emissions test. I purchased this car used and the used car dealer could not even explain the error at first. The car is made by izuzu and this is a common problem also with the rodeo's a recall needs to be made as I am sure many cars are failing the emissions test as well as running out of gas, while driving, because the sensor fails.
