Honda is replacing only my driver's side air bag and not the passenger side. Honda is now saying its safe to drive as long as no one sits in the front passenger side. This is not an option for my family. The rental car Honda was providing should continue to be offered to me until my vehicle is safe to drive and the passenger side takata air-beg is repaired. Takata recall inappropriate and unacceptable advise provided by hoehn Honda dealership carlsbad California. August 9, 2016, phone conversation with hoehn Honda regarding airbag recall. 1. Hoehn took vehicle info and VIN number. 2. Hoehn advised us that the car was recalled and not to have anybody ride in the front passenger seat until the airbag is replaced. 3. Airbags are ordered but not available. 4. No mention of driver side airbag recall. 5. No offer of loaner car made. August 23, 2019, phone conversation with hoehn Honda regarding airbag recall and our updated information that the drivers airbag is recalled as well. 1. Hoehn again advised us that the car was recalled and the airbags are ordered, but have not arrived and not to have anybody ride in the front passenger seat until the airbag is replaced. 2. I ask about the drivers airbag and after taking my vehicle VIN number they then advised us not to drive the car. 3. I inquired about a loaner car. 4. Hoehn said they could not otherwise a loaner car. This had to be handled through american Honda. 5. After insistence and speaking to a manager, a loaner car was then offered until a new drivers airbag was installed. August 24, 2016 phone conversation with american Honda case number 04950465. 1. Informed me that dealerships are normally authorized to provide loaner cars for airbag recalls 2. Hoehn Honda was aware of both the drivers side as well as the passenger side airbags were recalled. 3. Hoehn had ordered both airbags and they currently had the passenger airbag earmarked for my vehicle in stock. 4. This was going to beforwarded to american Honda management for further investigation. It appears that hoehn is willfully providing unacceptable advice to save money and puts drivers at an unacceptable risk.

7 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 08/06/2016

"takata recall" I had scheduled an appointment with bob howard Honda , edmond oklahoma to get the faulty passenger side airbag replaced, I had called them almost two months ago and back then , gary millican ( service rep ) had promised me that I would be provided a loaner or rental car reimbursement. After that conversation, I was assuming that a part would have been ordered specifically for my vehicle. I have tried to minimize anyone sitting in the passenger side ever since the recall notice was received in the mail. After I had initiated the request, the accountability was squarely with bob howard Honda to get back to me after the part was received. That never happened. Last week, I set up an appointment with them specifically stating that the I would be bringing in my vehicle on Saturday, August 6, 2016 to replace the airbag. I got a appointment confirmation as well as a reminder. When I went in, the service advisor , logan told me that the part wasn't in stock and he will have to order it. When I asked him that if I could get a loaner or a rental reimbursement ( my primary concern was that my wife is 4 months pregnant and I wanted to reduce any chance of the faulty part causing harm to her as well as the unborn child ). But I was told that Honda policy is not to provide either as it just affected the passenger side. I would have no other option but to seek legal help in this total lack of seriousness on Honda's part. When a vehicle is sold, it isn't sold as a means of transportation just for one person ( the driver ). If its undriveable with a passenger , it should be deemed undriveable. Honda cannot shirk away from the responsibility of compensating customers for alternative methods of transportation when their initial contract of providing a safe vehicle wasn't adhered to.

8 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2009 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 04/01/2016

Takata recall. I have been driving this vehicle around with my wife and small children unaware of the possible harm that could come to them from the "exploding" airbags. We just received our truck back with the fixed driver's side airbag after having a rental for 3 months since Honda did not have replacement parts yet. We just received another recall for the "exploding" passenger side airbag which they also do not have parts for. We have been unable to use our truck for fear that the airbags could hurt our small children or other passengers. We have contacted the dealership and the #s provided on the recall but have been unable to get any response for about 4 days. We are concerned that Honda should have known the passenger airbag was defective as well before they gave our vehicle back to us supposedly "fixed. " we are also concerned that our side curtain airbags have the same defects and even if we get our passenger airbag fixed there will be yet another recall for the side airbags.

9 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2007 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/28/2016

Takata recall our 2007 Ridgeline VIN 2hjyk16307h42849 was recalled on March 28, 2016 for the faulty takata driver's side airbag and recalled in July, 2016 for the faulty takata front passenger's side airbag. We contacted our local Honda dealer, prescott Honda, 3291 willow creek road, prescott, arizona 86301, 928-778-5500 on March 28; March 29; July 11; and September 7, 2016 requesting repairs. We have been repeatedly told that the parts for the driver's side airbag are not yet in. (the parts for the front passenger's side airbag repair came in July--but we cannot safely drive the vehicle as the driver is still at risk with the faulty airbag! therefore we are waiting so we can get both airbags fixed at the same time. ) it has now been over 155 days since we first received notice of the driver's airbag recall. We are without the use of our truck during this time. While a rental vehicle was offered (only after I inquired), the two vehicles offered do not meet our vehicle needs of a truck. We just want our airbags repaired! now! enough waiting!.

10 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2010 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/15/2016

Takata recall - my 2010 Ridgeline has been sitting at a dealer for the last 8 weeks waiting on the parts for the driver side airbag to come in. On top of that, another recall has been issued on the passenger side airbag! my contact at the dealer has been very nice and I do have a rental vehicle. However, it is absolutely ridiculous that this debacle is not being handled in a timely manner.

11 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/02/2016

"takata recall" I took my truck in on 3/2/2016 to local Honda dealership for routine maintenance and to have the takata recall taking care of on the drivers airbag. When the servicing was done the service adviser informed me that they did not have the airbag available and he would call once they got them, he said about a week. So I gave them till 4/11/2016 then I called the service adviser back he informed me to give them another week and call back. On 4/19/2016 I call back and spoke to another adviser and he informed me that they did not have them and to call back in 2 weeks. 5/4/2016 I call back and spoke with the first adviser I did business with on 3/2/2016 he told me they still did not have them and he would call me when they came in. On 7/19/2016 I decided to call them back since I had not heard from anyone and spoke to a third adviser which he in turn transferred me back to the original adviser and upon talking with him he said he didn't know if they had came in and I informed him I had received a second recall for the passenger side airbag. He said he would check and call me back. Today is 8/11/2016 I have till yet to hear from the adviser or anyone else.

12 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/01/2016

Takata recall. Front passenger seat has been unusable since a July, 2016 notice from Honda stating that the front passenger seat should not be occupied until the airbag has been replaced. Planet Honda in lakewood colorado ordered both front airbags on 7/6/16 since I had not been notified from Honda that parts were available. I finally received notice from the dealer that parts were in and the dealer installed the driver's side bag on 9/17/16, but informed me that the passenger-side airbag had not arrived, but still on order. I have checked with the dealer two times, and been informed that the parts are still unavailable. This delay is causing great inconvenience in my family because of lack of passenger capacity. I get the feeling that Honda is not complying with this recall in a timely fashion.

13 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2010 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/25/2012

I am reporting unwanted, excessive acceleration for my 2010 Honda Ridgeline. After turning into a parking lot, I was easing into my desired parking space and, since there was a slight incline, I lightly pressed the accelerator to inch further into the space. All of a sudden, to my surprise and without an opportunity to react, the truck accelerated greatly, propelling itself over a 5 inch curb, past two feet of space, and through the wall of a building. The force of the sudden impact was so great that the driver's side airbag deployed, the hood was bent and the front bumper was damaged - also punching a 3 foot wide hole into the side of the building, exposing its interior.

A police report was available. The vehicle was towed by the manufacturer to a collision center. The dealer advised the air bags deployed exactly as they were designed to. 16 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 05/26/2010

2006 Honda Ridgeline 55-60 mph impact to my drivers side front end my drivers side airbags did deployed but passenger did causing injuries during the crash. I'm very concerned why the airbags did not deploy on the side of impact, the driver side. This leaves me rather curious over finding an explanation as to what happened? what will you need to know to determine whether this may be a trend or flaw in the safety of the new Ridgeline or some other reasonable explanation?.

17 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2007 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/01/2009

My 2007 Ridgeline failed to activate either the abs or the vsa as I began skidding on the snow that was between the tire lanes. The drive lanes were clear pavement and at 64 mph in cruise control I changed lanes and the vehicle began 4 wheel skiing on the snow. I applied the brake and lost all control of my Ridgeline as the vehicle with all 4 wheels locked, skid over to the side of the road and became entangled with the snow bank. With all 4 wheels locked the vehicle slowed due to the depth of the snowbank. As it slowed the Ridgeline swung around sideways and slowly rolled on its side. At that point the side air bag curtain deployed. Scratching my eye ball and hitting my ear so hard I had to put my hand to my ear to see if it was still attached. Either the vsa or the abs should have activated. And the drivers air bag should not have deployed due to the fact the vehicle was laying on the passenger side. Causing over $10,000 damage. After the repair I took the vehicle to my dealer and I was told there is nothing wrong with any of the systems. Nor were they concerned that this incident, under different circumstances could have easily ended in death.

18 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 09/07/2006

I was involved in a front end collision. I was the only occupant. The passenger side air bag deployed, and the drivers side did not.
