1 Wiper problem of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 08/05/2025

The automatic high beam system is terrible. It is too sensitive so the beams flash hi/low on and off. Even a small road reflector on a dark empty road will force it back to low beam. Other cars I own with this type system work much better. It’s a safety hazard because auto hi-beam is on by default and you can’t count on it providing the correct amount of lighting when on dark roads, plus it annoys oncoming drivers because of the constant flashing.

2 Wiper problem of the 2022 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 02/12/2025

While using the wipers under normal conditions, first the passenger the the driver side several weeks later have stopped working. They are loose and no longer work with the toggle.

3 Wiper problem of the 2024 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 01/02/2025

The highbeams while not failing do not operate in a safe manner. While driving you are unable to really disable them. While driving about 12 miles down hill the auto high beams repeatedly turned on likely blinding oncoming traffic and traffic passing me while I scrampled to turn them off so that I would not blind other drivers. These auto high beams seem poorly designed and poorly thought out there should be easier ways to disable them other than having to park and hold a lever down for like 40 seconds. Legitimately thought I was going to accidentally be responsible for someones death mine or traffic around me because my high beams were coming on unprompted.

4 Wiper problem of the 2024 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 11/07/2024

Rear window shattered while driving on a highway. It seems this happens often with Honda vehicles. Dealer said to have it inspected by the window repair service. Still getting estimates.

5 Wiper problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 07/29/2024

Sunroof randomly exploded I was traveling on a highway and we heard a very loud “pop”. We at first thought we were hit by someone else, or blew a tire. Neither occurred but then heard wind and noticed the sunroof not only shattered, but blew outward. There were glass shards all around. We have taken it to the dealership and they said while other vehicles have had problems, the Ridgeline is not under a recall. I took pictures as to document what occurred. There was absolutely no warning that it was about to happened, either through the vehicle warning system or noises prior to the loud pop. It simply came out of no where and scared us immensely until we recognized what had happened.

6 Wiper problem of the 2021 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 07/08/2024

I received my recall number:24v-321 in the mail. I also had an emission control warning notice come on so I took the truck to a Honda dealer. The same day my rvc starting going out so they looked at that. Bottom line: they said the emission problem was a loose something with getting my oil changed. They said my backup camera problem wasn’t due to recall and that I need a new camera and by the way it’s going to cost me $700. I have 56000 miles on it and am very unhappy with wha’t going on.

7 Wiper problem of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 06/14/2024

Driving on the freeway the sun roof exploded shattering the glass unexpectedly. There was no rock or other outside projectile that hit the glass since I had a kayak above the glass on a roof rack pretty much covering most of the glass. I was able to close the shade door inside before the glass came down on us. I found out that this has happened on other Honda vehicles and there is a class action suit which I don't know much about. My insurance company will replace it but will cost me my $500 deductible.

8 Wiper problem of the 2022 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 05/23/2024

Backup camera can take up to 20 or 30 seconds to turn on when reverse gear is entered.

9 Wiper problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/06/2024

My vehicle has 113,795 miles and it is leaking windshield washer fluid. I have not attempted a repair yet, but I’m assuming it’s leaking from the reservoir.

10 Wiper problem of the 2021 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/04/2024

3/4/2024. Backup camera failure. Black screen. Located broken wires in wiring harness. Same location as those in earlier recall.

11 Wiper problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 02/19/2024

Side view mirrors were replaced for a recall. Replacement drivers side mirror was wavy and distorted. Made me not want to use it. More dangerous to drive not wanting to use that mirror.

12 Wiper problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 02/07/2024

I had my driver and passenger side mirrors replaced because of the issued recall. However, the new driver's mirror is now very distorted and causes a fun-house effect. This is a safety issue and it impacts visibility and safe operation of the vehicle while in motion. A quick review of online owner forums reveals this to be a common issue after the original mirror recall was issued. Please get Honda to issue a new recall and replace with adequate, safe mirrors!.

13 Wiper problem of the 2021 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 01/01/2024

I’ve had issues with the side view mirrors with this vehicle since the day that I took delivery. They were always wobbly. Honda issued a recall on them and the replacement mirrors look like “fun house” mirrors. They are super distorted and make me nauseous looking out of them. This is not an isolated incident. Many people are experiencing issues with the recalled mirrors being distorted. Honda needs to come up with another recall and real fix for this.

14 Wiper problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 12/15/2023

Honda Ridgeline model year 2020. Rear view camera intermittently not working. Issue can be temporally resolved by opening the tailgate in one of the two ways (flip down or swing out) diagnosed by dealer as requiring a tailgate harness replacement. This appears to be same/similar to the 2017-2019 recall kck 2017-19. (Honda service bulletin 22-049).

15 Wiper problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 12/05/2023

My Ridgeline was at the Honda dealer for a recall on both left and right exterior mirrors. (glass only) both were replaced. After leaving the dealer, the drivers side mirror image appeared wavy and distorted. It was difficult to focus on the image while driving rendering the mirror almost useless. The passenger side appears perfect. How can a replacement drivers side mirror installed due to a recall be worse than the recalled unit it replaced? frustrating.

16 Wiper problem of the 2010 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 12/01/2023

Rear sliding glass window spontaneously exploded while parked in enclosed space. Have read multiple accounts of similar things happening to this generation Ridgeline.

17 Wiper problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 11/01/2023

The rear camera on my 2020 Honda Ridgeline has failed. The dealership identifies the wiring harness "showing wires" and has ordered a replacement. Right now I'm unable to see anything behind the vehicle. Only a Honda dealer has confirmed the problem. For a few weeks the problem would come and go but now only an abbreviated "ladder" like diagram shows up when putting the vehicle in reverse. No live picture. The truck has less than 25000 miles and never used commercially.

18 Wiper problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/29/2023

I shifted the vehicle into reverse and the parking assist camera (backup camera) did not appear on the infotainment screen as it should. There is an active recall on the 2017 - 2019 models as Honda is aware of this problem with the tailgate wiring harness design. Backing up without the visual aid poses a serious safety threat to any pedestrians or vehicles that may not be seen due to the camera not working as it should. I have not yet scheduled a repair for this item but will update when the problem is remedied. There was no warning before this occured. It was sudden without any signs. It is my hope and the duty of the manufacturer that this issue is fixed within all model years that this problem is known to occur.

19 Wiper problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/16/2023

Rear backup camera display going black when backing up. There is a recall for the 2017-2019 Honda Ridgeline but there is not one for the 2020. The same issue is present where the dual action tailgate frays the wiring and eventually separates. The master technician at Honda stated that this fix is exactly the same as the previous years when that recall was performed on other vehicles. At first the back-up camera would work then it would go black until I opened and closed the tailgate. Then it got bad enough that it always went black. This is a design and safety issue. Honda remedied the issue by charging me for a new wiring harness, routing the wiring efficiently and the initial inspection.

20 Wiper problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 08/03/2023

My 2017 Honda Ridgeline's backup camera is not working. Screen its totally black. I can not see to the rear in the camera.

21 Wiper problem of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 07/13/2023

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? driver side side view mirror - no, I had to have it replaced and did not get it back. Please see recalls related to this issue for years 2020 thru 2021 for Honda pilots, passports, Ridgelines, and odysseys. To me it seems they need to go back one more year. Same problem/issue as reported in these recalls. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the mirror (glass part, not the whole frame) was vibrating substantially when driving. Mabe it very difficult to have a clear view out that mirror. Difficult to see here other vehicles where in that mirror. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes, dealer saw problem and agreed it was a problem. They replaced it. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? not that I am aware of. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no.

22 Wiper problem of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 05/30/2023

When traveling at night the high beams will not stay on. . . They flicker on and off at random intervals.

23 Wiper problem of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 04/09/2023

Driving on the interstate on 4/09/23 my 2019 Honda Ridgeline hood began to vibrate badly. I slowed and pulled over on the shoulder. The hood was barely still connected but had an open gap. I opened and slammed the hood and continued home at a slower speed, (approx. 62 mph). I had taken the Ridgeline in on Feb. 16, 2022 at the Honda dealer as per Honda's safety recall concerning the hood latch striker recall. This complaint is that they obviously did not or were not able to fix the problem. I have another appointment at the local dealer in alcoa, TN. But I worry they may not be able to fix it?.

24 Wiper problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 04/07/2023

Rear camera has stopped working. There was a recall for 2017 - 2019 Honda Ridgelines, currently does not include 2020. My mileage is 39600 and was told not covered. They apparently have not fixed the problem and it needs to include 2020’s as well.

25 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/08/2023

Drivers side mirror has slid down. Can't adjust mirror anymore. Something wrong with adhesive on back of mirror.

26 Wiper problem of the 2022 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 02/05/2023

Per high temperature 90 or more degrees windshield got broken. No explanation and rare this is not normal if the quality of front windshield (cristal ) is a good quality. I reported Honda and no response. Manufacturer should investigate as is a safety problem.

27 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 11/10/2022

The backup camera intermittently works. When put in reverse, sometimes I’ll have a black screen with grid lines, other times just a blank screen. Yes, it is available for inspection. I cannot see persons and property when backing up. I am afraid, in reverse, of running over persons shorter than the vehicle that only the backup camera would pick up. This has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service station. The vehicle has not been inspected by another entity. There has been no warning lights or messages from the vehicle about the issue. I purchased the vehicle in October 2022 and the issue started two weeks after purchase.

28 Wiper problem of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 11/03/2022

Manufacturer is refusing to complete recall #kck. Dealer inspected vehicle and says backup camera works so Honda is telling them to do nothing. This was 5 months ago. Unable to get recall removed from my VIN.

29 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 11/01/2022

The problem revolves around the rear-view camera failing through the normal use of the vehicle. The issue affects 2017-2018 ridelines, a number of whose owners complain that the screen goes black when they try to reverse. The complaints suggest that the wiring harness going from the main body of the vehicle into the tailgate, where the camera is located, suffers severe damage caused by the normal opening and closing of the tailgate. In my case I've confirmed this is true. Backup cam suddenly stopped working. Inspected wiring to backup cam at back where tailgate is and confirmed wiring is severed.

30 Wiper problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/24/2022

Back-up camera black screen due to tailgate wiring harness failure.

31 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 09/22/2022

Wire harness failed due to pinching in tailgate. This resulted in the rear view camera no longer functioning. Due to the camera failure, I can no longer see behind the vehicle when reversing. This has been inspected by the dealership. Although this is a common issue, they declined to repair it. Cost to repair would be $465 + labor.

32 Wiper problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 09/01/2022

Rearview camera in tailgate stopped working due to a damaged wiring harness. The harness is routed in a manner which is sure to fail through normal tailgate operation.

33 Wiper problem of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 05/04/2022

2019 Honda Ridgeline backup camera broke 5/2022 due to defective wiring harness at side hinge. Wires were chaffed bare, design flaw rendering camera useless. Safety compromised while backing up. Honda not receptive to repair.

34 Wiper problem of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 05/03/2022

Rear backup camera does not work, not a fuse issue. As we are seniors and have come to rely on camera while backing up, small children (our grandchildren) and pedestrians (while shopping) are at risk. Dangerous safety risk. We should not have to pay for this repair which I consider a safety issue on such a new vehicle.

35 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/15/2022

The failed system is the backup camera and the failure can be inspected. Our safety is compromised because we cannot see objects behind the vehicle before or during backing maneuvers. The damage has been reported and confirmed by the Honda dealer as well as an independent. There was no warning of the failure, one day it worked the next day it did not work.
