1 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 02/07/2021

While driving on the interstate, car decelerated and would not go past 5 mph. Had to get it towed. Throttle body replaced and now needs the the catalyt converter replaced in which I do not have the funds. There is an ongoing "ticking/clicking" sound in the engine, check engine light is currently on. While driving and coming to a red light, the car engine revved and the car started accelerating even though my foot was firmly on the brake. Car made a jerking move so I threw the gear into n and then park to stop the revving. Car is currently parked.

2 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 01/08/2021

September 2020 the car would not start after sitting for awhile, I recently had replaced the battery. Once I got the car to start, when. I slowed the car cut off while I was on a busy street, it's not the alternator everything was still on in the car. The check engine light appeared before the car cut off. Got started again, was able to drive. I've replaced fuel pump, cam shaft sensors, new battery. Any time I drive it the car cuts out when I am at a stop light, the car loses power while driving on the highway, and have to change the oil more often than 3000 miles. I find that I have to top my oil monthly. My check engine comes on randomly and goes off randomly. When I took the car to Hyundai regarding the check engine light, they stated it was a sensor issue.

5 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 09/14/2019

At first in the beginning my car does it once in a blue moon; however now everyday for the past two months my car would power down while being at a red light, stop sign, or in motion. When it powers down the engine and battery lights comes on. I would have to put the car in park and restart my car. It normally does it twice everyday. This is a safety hazard for myself and my baby. I'm scared that a car would come up behind and hit me while my baby is in the car. I fear our lives. When I took it to autozone for them to check and see why my check engine light was on the code was always catalytic converter. I went to go get that fix and my car is still having the same problem. Also, when my car is in motion the rpm doesn't move it stays at 0. Also, the sensor for the passenger air bag isn't working. When somebody is sitting on the passenger side the airbag light is off, but when somebody isn't sitting there the airbag light is on. I haven't been in any accidents.

6 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 07/16/2019

Driving on the highway I heard a knocking in the engine. The check engine light came on. I took the vehicle to get the light checked for a code and was told the knock sensor needed replacing. Took the car to the dealer I purchased it from and dealer said there was no code and no history of a code so they could do nothing about it after I told them how to replicate the knocking. Dealer released the car. Two days later while driving on the highway the light came back on and the engine continued knocking. I took it straight to the dealer again and they were able to replicate the issue and find a code. The dealer contacted the manufacturer about the code and the manufacturer recommended applying a patch to the knock sensor and, according to the dealer "see what happens". The dealer performed the patch and released the vehicle to me. The very next day I was driving home after work on the highway and the odometer went from 3000rpm's to 0. While I could try to engage the accelerator and could hear the engine rev no rpms registered. The vehicle went into an idle state and would not react. Causing many near accidents I was able to get the car to the shoulder before it became stationary. Attempted to restart car a dozen times and the rpm's would not register still. Car has now been with the dealer who has not been able to replicate the issue and has not reached out to the manufacturer. The cause and effect of an issue happening after applying a computer patch is not being investigated nor discussed with the manufacturer.

8 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 08/19/2018

As I go up a hill or rapidly accelerate on an incline the check engine light will come on. The problem points to the knock sensor (code p0326) being at fault. This does not happen often but when it does it is disconcerting. I replaced the knock sensor with a new oem part, but it too acts the same as the old one. I called the dealer and they want to charge me $90 to diagnose the problem and then any labor/parts needed to repair it. However, I have read several reports online about a software update, flashing the ecu has fixed the problem. If this is so, shouldn't this be a reason for a recall?.

13 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 06/29/2014

Was driving down the interstate and went to get off on an exit and pressed the brake to slow down and pressed the clutch in to start gearing down and as soon as I pressed the clutch something broke in the clutch and it would not engage anymore. I coasted over to the side of the off ramp and cut the car off. Roadside assistance came out and towed my car to Hyundai of decatur. My car sat for three days before they would even pull it in. When they finally did, they didn't even get permission from the owner to tear the engine down. All he did was take off the valve cover and automatically tried to blame the engine being locked up on it having low oil which it did not considering it had an oil change on the 20th of June and the car broke down on the 29th. The mechanic did not even look at where the problem originated. Oh, and no check engine light or low oil light came on so that tells me that it has nothing to do with the oil. It tells me that there was faulty parts in the clutch and now they are trying every way they possibly can to get out of repairing my car under the warranty. So if you could please do all you can to get this out there that Hyundai of decatur are hateful and treat their customers like trash and don't abide by their warranties. I advise anyone to never purchase a car from them ever.

14 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2011 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 04/15/2014

I brought my car into the dealership at 33000 miles when it was bucking and hesitating when I accelerated. The mechanic could not detect a code and told me to drive the vehicle until the part completely broke down and a check engine light came on. The car soon would not accelerate past 25 mph and was bucking up and down like a ping pong ball. I crawled into the dealership and was told I needed an ignition coil replaced. I was also told the other coils would probably go bad one by one, but I couldn't have them all replaced under the warranty at one time until they malfunctioned. I was very nervous driving the car until in December 2014 another coil started occasionally to act up. On some days the car will buck and hesitate for a few minutes, but the check engine light will not come on, so when I bring the car in to the dealership, they cannot find anything wrong and the problem cannot be duplicated. On other days the problem is very mild and only for a few seconds and still the check engine light does not come on. When I had the problem severely one day, I drove to another mechanic in a chain repair facility and they put the car on a master computer which detected a problem in the #4 ignition coil. They suggested I race over to the dealership to see if they could catch the problem also on their master computer, but they could not detect anything. I want the #4 ignition coil replaced under the warranty because I am a senior citizen and am very nervous driving my car around in this broken condition. The main problem is that the check engine light does not come on and there is no code stored. My daughter has the same problem with her 2011 Hyundai Accent. I hesitate driving my car the hour to visit my son for fear I will suddenly need a tow in an unfamiliar neighborhood. The number of complaints here for this same problem warrants a recall.

26 Check Engine Light On problem of the 1998 Hyundai Accent

This was a program car. I have had the same problems repeatedly with this car. About 6 months after I bought it, it started using oil. They rebuilt the head. Then about 8 months or so later it started using oil again, this time they "said" they put on a new head. However, I dont believe that because, now 8 months later it is once again using oil. Also, I can be going down the highway at about 60 mph and the engine will "hiccup" and jerk really hard and the check engine light will come on for about 2-3 seconds. I have reported this several times and they find nothing wrong. I have also been reporting to the dealer, that I hear a ticking noise coming from the engine. It sounds like the engine is not getting any oil. But, they just tell me that I am hearing things. I am paying for this lemon with my hard earned money. I have tried to get them to let me trade it back to them and buy a brand new car, but they insist that nothing is wrong with mine. I have also contacted consumer affairs, they told me they couldn't get involved. That it was between me and the dealer. I need help!!! any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!.
