Se model. Supposed to get 29 mpg city. Getting 17-20 city. About Feb 28 I applied for online appointment for Hyundai's los angeles dealer open to the public. Hyundai handbook page 4 says, "regular maintenance and inspection by skilled Hyundai technicians is the key to more efficient operation of the vehicle. " since a past visit saw the dealer and police threaten me with arrest because of my [color] and demand for service, I wrote them in advance I might bring armed guard for protection. My online appointment asked them to check the mpg, steering wheel vibration, motor mounts, carbon in exhaust etc. Arriving Mar 30 about 10:30 am with my own uniformed armed security, a man claiming to be Hyundai security would not give his name, claimed the president of the dealership banned me from the property, that the police were on the way. I showed him my confirmation but he disregarded it. Since he had shut the gate in my face, I was not able to drive my car to the service area. I had planned to look at other cars for purchase at another car dealer next door. I went there with my guard who was with me for meals at two fast food places and no workers or customers complained. About 11:00, still at the other dealer, I was surrounded by six inglewood police cars. The officers said they responded to call of a [race] black man with a weapon. The officers told me if I came back to the Hyundai dealer they would arrest me and charge me with trespassing. Editor: if you read the CA. Trespass laws, I was not trespassing. I feel the dealer made a false police report to endanger me. I also had letter from corporate and the warranty telling me I could go to the dealer for service. Hyundai needs to fire some workers if they do not know how to provide warranty service that car owners are entitled to. That problem was taken care of I have been going to Hyundai of southern state imports of raleigh. For the past couple of years since I have been here and they are very familiar with my car the car was under warranty back then. Until I reached 71,226 miles the cars warranty 60,000 miles to 100,000 bumper to bumper. To make a long story short they waited until my warranty expired to tell me that my care would need a. 1,wiring assy engine total price of 930. 53, 2,cover assyrocker 299,72. 4 Engine Exhaust System problem of the 1997 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 02/01/2001

For the pc system problem, I had noticed that the pc valve was leaking oil around it, so I replaced the component on may 12,2000. By December, I noticed that the car had some sort of problem with a noted drop in performance and fuel economy. So I decided, before bringing the car in for maintenance, to visually check the fluids, and wear components. I ended up finding sludge in the engine, created by water in the oil. When Dodge/Hyundai of paramus checked-out the car they told me the problem was a clogged pc system and it was not covered by any warrany, so I paid for the work. For the transmission problem I noticed that it was leaking, and when the dealer in paramus checked-out the problem, they told me that someone had over-torqued the oil pan, blowing out the gasket. They told me that the problem should be warranteed by altman in n. Charleston, since they did the 30k check-up. When I informed altman, they told me that paramus should have done the work as warranteed. So, mike at altman told me I would receive a refund, but I never did, and mike doen't work there anymore, and no one else knows anything. I talked to hyun. Motor amer. Cust. Service, and I am currently waiting for a call back. What I want to know is if either of these is covered by warranty, and if so what then?.

On or about March 4, 2000, the subject vehicle was involved in an auto accident, at which time the driver rear ended another vehicle driving at approximately 30-35 mph. Both the passenger side and driver side airbags failed to deploy. Soon thereafter, the engine light became illuminated. After taking to farrish in manassas, virginia, it was reported that the computer indicated that I the engine was out of time. The timing belt was replaced and did not cure the problem. I was then told I needed a tune-up, which was substantially done and did not cure the problem, which leads to my belief that there is a major problem with the emissions control system. The car now heats and gets hot to the touch at the floor board. The manufacturer has been contacted and has failed to inspect the vehicle. I plan tomorrow to revoke my acceptance of the vehicle.
