Equipment Problems of Hyundai Accent - part 2

Upon opening my driver side door the handle came off in my hand. I went to open the rear driver passenger side door and that handle came off in my hand. A repair shop went to open the rear passenger side door that handle came off. My fourth attempt I went to open my passenger side door and that one opened but loose. I have to get on passenger side and shimmy over to the driver side and then drive. When I go somewhere I have to leave my driver side window down so I'm able to get back in correctly. I'm disabled and it's hard for me to swing my legs over to the driver side. So how many cars out there that have this issue. Mine cannot be the only one!!!.

The rear windshield shattered for no reason. Because of the tint we had installed it stayed intact but you can't see through it. The car is in my driveway if you want to see it, but I have an appointment for safelite to repair it on Monday, Dec 6, 2021. No, it has not been inspected by the police or anyone else. Safelite will be able to tell what happened when they come out. My husband was at work and the car was parked, when he came out to get in that is when he noticed it. There was no one else near where he parked his car and no evidence of anyone being near the car.

Third brake light was smoking inside car. Pulled over and opened trunk to discover a melted bulb, socket and housing to the whole assembly. Contacted Hyundai USA and have not received a reply. Could have become a dangerous situation.

Electrical issues horn doesnt work nor does the speedometer . .

The vehicle made a large “pop” sound, lost power and a fire started at the engine. After the “pop” was heard, the check engine flashed on, then the car died. Noticed a smoke smell, jumped out of car and saw flames. Entire car was engulfed in minutes. No issues to the car prior to incident.

When driving the car, the abs light, emergency brake light, and traction control light will come on. When these come on the speedometer always quits working. Sometimes turning off the car will solve the problem but other times it won't do anything. Dealership has not been able to fix it. Other people have had the same problem with the Hyundai Accent. There are forums about it if you just look them up. Definitely a problem that needs to get fixed that seems to not be able to get fixed.

Paint is flaking off large sections of hood and front, rear windshield washer hose leaks in car.

I had a problem with my 2014 Hyundai Accent. Was on Nov 29 2020. We had ran some errands and had a birthday dinner with my mother who lives a hr away. We pulled into our driveway and took my items into the house. As I was going in I heard a lot of a car honking. I looked out my window and my car was in flames. 911 was called. Our neighbor has a security camera we watched the video. It showed as we pulled into the driveway. As we were getting out of the car it started glowing underneath the front on the car. My vehicle has caught fire on 11/14/20 as it was parked at resident. We heard a pop sound and then fire started. June I had my battery replace. Feb I had issue with the )2 sensor that has been taken car of. After the fire I received a recal notice.

Wow entering the highway my car stalled out in the middle of traffic the never cut out just will not drive more than about 5 miles an hour even with putting my foot all the way down on the pedal turn it off for 30 minutes started back up started driving start out again almost causing me to wreck multiple times no warning lights or anything popped up I still have no lights on my dash and it is still not drivable had to get it towed by aaa I don't understand how did you record that is 3 years old is having this issue with no warning I'm very blessed that my children weren't in the car considering the diesels coming behind me why are the highways with this happening all of the sudden the car does not shut down it just loses power far as driving accelerating.

Wen u let off gas n put brake on while driving n you go to push back on gas petal it don't do anything u have to let off gas petal n do it again it's dangerous on freeway the service manager said just punch it it should then . What so I hit cars in front of me n now it's starting to do it wen I turn corners.

On may 30, 2020 I bought an Hyundai 2012 model: Accent GLS in an authorized motor trend certified dealer at 995 n. 107 th Ave. Avondale, az 85323. Stock no. P5607a. I paid already my down payment, dealer documentary fee, and license, rec title and plate. At this time I continue with a provisional temporary vehicle registration. I am paying monthly to the credit union west my charge to this bank, that it's the financier bank choose by dealer. I am doing pressure over dealer in order to completed the documentation in motor vehicle division phoenix, arizona to my name as owner, and also to received my total documentation and plate. Last Thursday August 13, 2020 this vehicle have had a revision in NHTSA and sent an important vehicle safety recall information and refers in this document: recall date: 2020-07-02. Nhtsa # 20v-393000, mfr#193. Status: recall status incomplete. I am very concerned with this situation. Last Friday August 14, 2020, I begin a complaint against this dealer through field office motor vehicle division in phoenix, az. Cordially, pierre millet customer.

After I see I have a recall in the NHTSA webpage, I take my car to the dealership in torrance, CA. As a result I was told "they can't do anything and can't provide a solution or an agency to clear out this issue". The problem is that: "if the compressor accessory is connected to the 12v outlet to inflate a tire will possibly cause an overheat at the car outlet". I stated: "I don't have such accessory and I have a regular spare tire". After that was confirmed I requested to clear the recall since I don't have that accessory and only that accessory cause the problem to the outlet. That didn't change their attitude to provide a solution and the technician raymond said: "we are sorry but there is nothing we can do". In my opinion doesn't make sense to tag a car "unsafe with a recall" for an external accessory that is not even in the car or in the market. Solution 1: create a permanent sticker and set next to the 12v outlet "do not connect devices that consume more than (what ever are the amps or watts that cause the overheat) solution 2: dissemble the 12v outlet and re-assemble with the correct torque add to the recall "minor issue, car performance is not in danger".

Tengo un auto huyndai Accent 2018 con aparente problema DE alineamiento. Al manejar y soltar el guia el auto se mueve hacia el lado izquierdo inmediatamente. Lo he llevado a alinear a dos talleres diferentes y ha pasado la prueba pero continua con el mismo problema. Se le rotaron las gomas y todav�a sigue con el mismo problema. Driving on highway on vacation coming from florida, the car lost power for 3 seconds and came back on again. Weird it happened. Hasnt happened since but scary to completely shutdown then start up again. The motor continue to run but lights and everythg else shut. It was weird. This happen summer 2020. Was not raining and was on straight highway.

My car would not start all of a sudden even though all dash lights came on wiyh key in, battery was checked and deemed fine and starter was confirmed as good. Was towed to my mechanic, ran diagnosticd, nothing wronh came up and they wete able to start it righp up. Now home and 10 days later and I have no sart issue again. Stationary in my condo lot both timrs.

When the car is started, the air bag light turns on and won't turn off. Restarted several times since and the air bag light still stays on. Another issue that I never reported is both driver and passenger sun visors won't stay up. I replaced the driver side, but this is very distracting to a driver to have the visor drop downand feel this should be considered a safety concern. The rest of the information is about the air bag light being on, not the visors.

Occasionally when you accelerate it hesitates and does not respond. It has been taken to a mechanic and a dealer and they cannot find the problem but it does happen. It is dangerous especially when pulling out onto a very busy road where I live this is a side street entering a very busy highway or most anytime. It is random it happens ever since car was purchased can't give exact date.

When braking I hear a loud crunching sound sometimes and the brake pedal jerks back. Caused a slight accident with bumper damage.

Oil consumption is bad and I keep getting an oil change every month and a half.

Northwest fire district, fire investigator frederick durham in333, vehicle fire on 6/22/2019 car parked at approximately 11:30 pm. 6/21/2019 owner awakened by dog at approximately 1:30 am 6/22/219 to find car involved in fire. Investigation indicated fire started in engine compartment. Unknown failure.

Fake recall notice sent by route 46 Hyundai by m&m advertising, inc. When checking the VIN there were no recalls. Scam/misleading mailer. The ftc previously sued Toyota dealerships for similar mailings.

Sun visors are broken ,, one won,t stay up an light won,t work,, one falls out of mount,, went to pick-a-part, all of the Hyundai's in there already had their sun visors removed ,, not safe with them falling down an out.

Burns off 1/2 qt of oil every 1500 miles. Po326 (knock sensor) trouble code on chilli mornings. P050a (cold start) trouble code while driving.

My car misfired and after that started to sputtering when I idol, slow down or speed up. I got new plugs put in and put some dry gas in tank. Still sputters when in idle or slowing down. Check engine light blinks and then stays on.

Takata recall I am at 130,000 miles and there is no oil leaking, but every time I get an oil change it just disappears. Even if I'm not driving 1000 mi/month, it is completely dry within a few weeks of getting an oil change. I have to constantly put oil in my car in between oil changes every 3 months.

On 12oct2018 while driving on a highway, I noticed a chemical smell coming from my car. Within seconds, all of the dash lights came on. When I attempted to brake to pull over to the side of the road, I realized that I had no brakes and that flames were coming from the front driver's side of the vehicle. Upon immediately exiting the vehicle, I noticed flames under the vehicle and coming out of the back of the vehicle. My car became totally engulfed and is a total loss. Firefighters were unable to determine the cause of the fire.

Car will randomly display abs & brake & traction control lights while driving, also upon initial start up and will not go away.

When off and stationary pressing/releasing the brake numerous times, cable sound is heard under center console gear selector & behind underneath a/c console/storage, not heard when auto was new.

The engine light comes on and I have fixed everything from the mechanics to everything else it still pops up and the mechanic told me I am having a missfire sound while in motion it would blonk and at times it would stay on and come off.

The car is less than 8 years old , maintnance properly, there is no where visible to check transmission fluid during a routine fluid change and when I had the transmission checked and the fluid it was fine . All of a sudden 3 days later my transmission is stuck in 4th gear now it wont move back or forward . I have noticed that a lot of Accent owners have had this same problem and some sooner after having theirs than mine.

Steering has been having issues the steering wheel tightens up at time . And works against you. While driving at road speed from maybe 35-55.

The under carriage is not stable. The undercarriage cover falls off whenever something scrapes the bottom of car. . . On the passenger aide only. The screws and bolts vecome bent and the nuts fall off, forcing under carriage cover to fall and scrape on ground. The car was in motion about 1 block from my house when this happened.

Electrical malfunction with window device causing a passenger door fire. Also causing no headlights, rear lights, interior electrical everything, locks and windows all around the car not to function. Hyundai declines paying yet still wants this vehicle as is on the road. Please see attached photo. On 1/15/18 it was a cold day, I rolled the window down and attempted to roll it back up with the window started making noise. It did roll up and I proceeded back inside to work. I went outside on break and my car was on fire. The car was not in motion and no one was in the vehicle to initiate the fire.
