Car had a light ticking sound for days off and on . . . . . . Was driving down road and car starting reving up driving on it's own. Tried to apply brakes would not stop tried to shut car down wouldn't let me. Got car into neutral then applied brakes got car to stop and off road. Waited till I regained composure started car and it sounded fine. Started down rd again drove about 4 miles and went to pull into hess station did again and almost shot us through front of store. This time it sounded as though pieces were being shattered inside engine. . . . Got out of car and checked under hood and under car nothing visiable of what was wrong. It was late night so I just wanted to make it home. . . . . Tried once more it happened a third time. . . . Was mile from home so I drove it again to make it. . . . Next day we drove it to dealership. They took it for test drive said it was throttle body. We complained that was not covered under extended warranty so they took it out again to see if might be something else. . . This time for them car went to 4 rpms and wouldn;t go down so gave use loaner car. . . . . . Said they would put us in different car or fix it. Took us to used car lot to get another car then because of credit said no. . . . We are a elderly couple with disabilities and the only car they offered us back in July 2014 was this 2 dr that tried to kill us. . . . . We wanted a 4 dr car not a lil sporty we couldn't get in and out of the back seat! can anyone help us????? now that it was repaired the next day it is making so much noise I'm afraid to drive it. . . . . . . . Help please! I haven't gone to get that checked out yet but I will today! please post for other drivers to be aware of these cars. . . . . .

I was driving to get on xpressway going thirty five miles an hour all at once I had no gas pebble there was nothing lucky I could pull over on the side all I has was a break if I had got on the enterstate with cars traveling 70 and 80 miles hour I would have been dead with two small kids in the car because the car gas p was going I got a tow to take my car in and they say the throttle cable had broken , I have never has or heard of this happen the car I trade in was sixteen years old toyata had over four hundred thousands miles on it and all was wrong with it was the air the dealer say they never had a car come there with thoses many miles and still running great it would have cost more to replace the air than the car was worth and we trade it in for a lemon this car has given us problems first all three cols with out no power please check into this matter before someonedies , I did research and no one has ever heard of the cable breaking on a car . I purchased my 2020 Hyundai Accent from shirlie slack Mitsubishi, in fredericksburg, virginia on [xxx]. It wasn't long after purchasing that I began experiencing difficulties with it. The car will shut off when it comes to a complete stop or even if I s for a brief moment to switch gears, for example when parallel parking. Some days it would happen less often, maybe once or twice per trip then other days it would happen every time I came to a complete stop, shutting off in bumper to bumper traffic on the highway even. Because of my warranty through my dealership and Hyundai, I cannot take it anywhere else to have work done on it. Therefore I have been to this Hyundai for this issue three separate times now. The west broad Hyundai in richmond, virginia. I even tried taking it to a different Hyundai in richmond and they denied me, saying that I was already in the system at the west broad location, and that I had to take it there. I have yet to see improvement after having it serviced any of the times. In fact one time after picking it up from Hyundai the problem occurred on my way way home. I was driving the car and its been surging a little when driving can feel forward vibrations and then lets go and dose it again. The incident occured June 30 2014 and I was headed to a stop sign and my car started accelerating on its own and I had to push in clutch and press brakes pretty hard to stop the car from takin off on its own without me pushing the gas. I dont know if its the throttle sensor or whats the problem is but the car also been drivin diffferently around corners like the rear end somethin wrong and seen statements from other people statin there was a problem with their car as well. I hope you guys can help me if not I need a mechanic to fix the car.

When filling up with gas gets near full and pump shuts off but gas spurts out of filler tube every time I fill up just bought this vehicle on June 4th 2013.

I have had issues with shifting into gear. I have taken it to several different mechanics and they have not been able to find any issues at all. I also just found out that my fuel level sensor is not working either. I have not been able to find any recalls on either. It's upsetting to see that others are having the same issue with the shifting problem and it doesn't seem that anyone within Hyundai has bothered to see if this problem exists with other 5 speed Accents.

Se model. Supposed to get 29 mpg city. Getting 17-20 city. About Feb 28 I applied for online appointment for Hyundai's los angeles dealer open to the public. Hyundai handbook page 4 says, "regular maintenance and inspection by skilled Hyundai technicians is the key to more efficient operation of the vehicle. " since a past visit saw the dealer and police threaten me with arrest because of my [color] and demand for service, I wrote them in advance I might bring armed guard for protection. My online appointment asked them to check the mpg, steering wheel vibration, motor mounts, carbon in exhaust etc. Arriving Mar 30 about 10:30 am with my own uniformed armed security, a man claiming to be Hyundai security would not give his name, claimed the president of the dealership banned me from the property, that the police were on the way. I showed him my confirmation but he disregarded it. Since he had shut the gate in my face, I was not able to drive my car to the service area. I had planned to look at other cars for purchase at another car dealer next door. I went there with my guard who was with me for meals at two fast food places and no workers or customers complained. About 11:00, still at the other dealer, I was surrounded by six inglewood police cars. The officers said they responded to call of a [race] black man with a weapon. The officers told me if I came back to the Hyundai dealer they would arrest me and charge me with trespassing. Editor: if you read the CA. Trespass laws, I was not trespassing. I feel the dealer made a false police report to endanger me. I also had letter from corporate and the warranty telling me I could go to the dealer for service. Hyundai needs to fire some workers if they do not know how to provide warranty service that car owners are entitled to. Hyundai officials claim they will sue and arrest those who post on youtube about Hyundai.

Many people have been complaining about this vehicle. You can't put gas into it without the pump stopping approximately every . 25 gallons. It's very annoying and it is difficult to pass inspection. I don't understand why Hyundai should not be required to fix this problem. It comes up as a 1401 for emissions testing.

Having trouble putting gas in the car,nozzle keeps shutting off about every couple of seconds. Happens every time I get gas. Tried different stations some attendants will try different ways to put the nozzle in or turn it but it still does it . First started at the end of may2010. Car is a 2002 Accent with only 52,000 miles on it. Took to dealer said the charcoal canister,dmtl motor,& a valve assy-fuel v need to be replaced. Had to prepay for parts to be ordered. Picked car up until parts come in.

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that while driving at any speed, she felt dizzy, nauseous and tired without warning. The contact stated that this happened only when the vehicle was in motion, did not happen when she simply sat in the vehicle (without moving). The exhaust system was examined and nothing was found. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the compressor and the valve stem, to avoid a leak. The mechanic topped the oil and freon. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the general manager of the same dealer at a different location. The manager gave the contact the options of either a refund of the diagnostic test or to re-diagnose the vehicle. The contact chose to get a refund. The failure was not diagnosed or resolved. The failure mileage was approximately 4,248. Fe.

Purchased car 2002 in arizona. About 2009 when the check engine light came on and when filling the car with gas the pump would stop after less than . 25 gallons pumped. It takes greater than 20 minutes to fill the tank and many times the auto shut off fails and I end up being sprayed gasoline. This is a personal safety issue as well as an enviromental hazard. There are many similar complaints about this issue, but it is repeatedly ignored. What will get this addressed, some one being seriously injured after being doused with gasoline?.

My car engine will rev up on its own when in neutral (I have a manual transmission) the engine revs up then idles low as if it is going to stall. I have taken it into the dealership 4 times, and they have replaced the coil pack, spark plugs, and a sensor. . . Still the problem persists. Every time I take my car in they tell me that my spark plugs are misfiring and that I need to have them replaced and because they are a wear item and it's going to cost me. I can't afford to have it done in the dealership so I did a home repair and replaced them myself. This is the 3rd set of plugs on this car and they are now misfiring again (only after 5 months) I took it to the dealership, and they claimed that they can't fix the problem because they aren't Hyundai plugs (which I understand), but there has got to be some reason that the plugs are fouling out so quickly and no one will investigate the problem. I should not have to replace my spark plugs (wear item or not) 4 times in 2 years, nor should I have to twist the dealerships arm to do the job that they are paid under warranty to do! I am disgusted with Hyundai, and the poor customer service their dealers provide! I will never buy Hyundai again or recommend that anyone else purchase from them!.
