Airbag light comes on intermittently while driving. Steering locks as the car is driven at highway speeds and requires force to adjust. It presents a challenge when staying in a lane and need to do slight adjustments to stay in lane. Took it to a dealer about a year ago and they could not duplicate the issue.

How many people have to be injured before Hyundai figures out their non-airbag deployment issues? 57 complaints on NHTSA for the 2006 Azera air bags, and I was just in a hard side t-bone collision just in front of the driver's door that broke my collar bone, and not one air bag deployed. I was proceeding through a 4 way intersection when my light turned green, and a car to my left was accelerating through the red light. I bought the car brand new, and completed all issued recalls. When my air bag light kept coming on three years ago, I was finally told it was the driver side seat belt tension sensor, which was not covered by a recall, only the passenger side had the recall, so I spent over $600 to have it fixed, and the error light went out. I opened a case with Hyundai to inform them I was in a side impact accident and no air bags deployed. When they called to follow up, they did not seem interested in figuring out the problem, said I never brought the vehicle back for a follow up, and asked me what my agenda was? I had no agenda at the time, and was even looking to purchase a g90, but I guess now it is to let some Hyundai owners know their could be air bag problems.

My 2013 Hyundai Azera engine failed may 19, 2019 as I was driving on the highway, my car insurance denied my claim due to findings of a manufactures/mechanical default and Hyundai refused to fix it stating it was out of warranty and that I had to pay out of pocket, if and wheni get it towed there. On October 2020, Hyundai received my car by tow and said that they could rebuild an engine and put it in at a cost to me. The rebuilt engine was put in Jan 2020 and failed at the dealership as the tested in February 2020 I picked my car up and the engine failed a week later as I was driving on the highway again. Chp impounded my car and Hyundai refused to get it out. I payed the fee. March 2020 Hyundai rebuilt another engine and put it in and I am having issues and concerns of my safety and Hyundai refused to address releasing the car to me with, airbag light on, horn doesn't work nothing on the steering column works, front light falls back into car,and now the back camera broken windshield wipers/fluid doesn't come out, hood of car lifted up on rights side ,panorama roof continues to get stuck, I asked them to repair all these things and to check my cars engine on yesterday April 2020 and management and corporate they refused and ive been having car issues starting the month after I bought the car, like the airbag issue.

Car was parked overnight in my driveway. The next morning I got up, started my car and now the air bag light is on. Dealer says I need a new clockspring. My car has 53000 miles. No accidents, oil changes every 3000 miles. How does this happen. Its clearly a manufacturing problem with Hyundai.
Steering wheel: the steering wheel shakes vigorously when driving on the highway going past 60. Also, big clunking sound when turning the wheel. Feels like steering wheel will fall off. Had a similar issue with my sonata. There was a recall on the sonata on this to replace the steering coupling. Airbag light stays same issue as my sonata, however there is no recall on the Azera. This is clearly issues with lot of Hyundai's. This needs anew clock spring assembly/spiral cable. If these are same issues on a sonata then there should of been a recall on the Azera as well. Not lot of people talk time to fill this out and report this. I guess a tragic accident needs to occur for Hyundai to act.
When I crank up my 2013 Hyundai Azera the airbag light came on. I waited and the light never went out. Had my car scanned and it stated the error is the clock spring in the steering wheel. I feel as if my safety is compromised if the air bag isn't working properly. I keep all maintenance up on my vehicle but this is out of my control.
As of 7/26/19 my airbag light came on when I started my car it was still overnight and hasn't gone off I took it to nalley Hyundai in lithonia g. A 8/12/19 where I was told theirs no recall but the clock screw needs to be replaced and my steering column to fix the click in the steering wheel and was then given an estimate I feel this is a faulty item that is conducive to my safety and I shouldn't have to pay for it.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and found diagnostic trouble code: 1346 (no resistance to air bag). The mechanic advised the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by a dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Red air bag light came on with the yellow passenger airbag off light when my passenger went to put his seat belt on and the red air bag light stays on and the passenger air bag light continues to go on when the seat belt is moved to connect doesnt need to be connected for this to happen there is a recall but my vehicle does not fall into the manufacturing date my manufacturing date is 05/11/2007 . I contacted Hyundai and they said its not on recall . I believe im not the only person who is experiencing this safety hazard problem . Please help me cant afford the 1000 dollar fix by the dealer.
I purchased my 2007 Azera in July of 2018 then over a month later in August of 2018 my passenger went to put his seat belt on in the passenger front seat the red airbag light and the passenger airbag off yellow light stayed on which is not suppose to happen now the red airbag light stays on all the time and the yellow passenger light stays on while the seat belt is on.

The airbag light came on in my car. I took it into the phil long Hyundai dealership in colorado springs and was told that the passenger occupant detection sensor in the front passenger seat was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. At first the service representative was very confident that Hyundai would pay for the replacement, but after a phone call he was told that they would not because my vehicle had over 100,000 miles and I was not the original owner. (however, I do believe that this is a defective part because the same thing happened to my sister's Hyundai. ) the mileage on the car was 117,108 when I had the issue diagnosed.

The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to folsom lake Hyundai 12530 auto mall cir, folsom, CA 95630 (916) 293-4760 where the contact was informed that the clock spring in the air bag needed to be replaced. Takata recall. The air bag light is on all the time. The tire tpms light always comes on saying it failing. When driving the car is shifting funny, sometimes is jolts forward and sometimes it will not shift correctly. Car was also just stalling out at stop lights. It has not done that in a little while but it goes through spells where it will do it every time I come to a stop. I do not have an exact date when everything started.
Over past approximately 4 1/2 years, the airbag light has been on 7 or 8 times. Mileage ~136k, 151k 183k,191k & 203. 6k. The seat belt pre tensioners and complete seat belts replaced 4-6 times and the airbag control module once. The driver's seatbelt pretensioner was successfully repaired ~August 8, 2016. A company agent inspected the functioning of the passenger air bag [OCS] August 26, 2013. Today 2-2-2017 the seatbelt light came on. My mechanic determined the code was b1382 side curtain airbag -high resistance. I have complete records of the maintenance and repair of this vehicle which I can supply upon request.
Air bag light on. . . Vehicle taken to dealer and I was told that pretensioner passenger side seat belt failed. Recall compllied with on passenger side seat belt 2010. Cost to fix $573. Not repaired yet. I have complained Hyundai of America.
The main air bag indicator light on the gauge cluster keeps coming on, as well as the passenger seatbelt occasionally light which occurs when someone has sat in the passenger seat, then exits. Once the seat is empty, the seatbelt light was supposed to be light off, but the air bag light on the main cluster remains lit. The only time the light goes off is when the car is restarted momentarily, but the airbag light is back on and always comes on until the engine is off. I drive a car in dangerous status every time and every day.
08 Azera: air bag light comes on along with passenger seatbelt warning. First would occur intermittently 2 yrs ago but for more than a week the airbag light would stays on (even when a passenger is seated or not). Had dealer look at it (when it was on) & they indicated it is the passenger seat belt / wiring harness issue they've been replacing under a recall. Indicated the car's VIN didn't appear in recall but service rep. Said it appears to be the exact same issue. Had replaced. Now it is occurring again. Requesting Hyundai corporate review and approve repair at no charge. Concerned for our safety.
The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Azera. While driving various speeds, the seat belt and air bag warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the new wiring harness clip was loose and needed to be tightened. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was previously serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 10v007000 (air bags, seat belts) but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was brought back to the dealer several times for the failure. The contact was advised that no one over 150 lbs should utilize the passenger seat. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the seat limit was 150 lbs. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
At approximately 40k miles the air bag warning indicator came on while there was a child passenger in the front seat. It only came on when my 15 year old would sit there and we were moving. I brought it to the dealer and the fault was reset. The dealer stated if it reoccured they would order a new sensor. It did reoccur this time while traveling on the highway with a 160 lb. 5'5 man in the passenger seat, and the dealer was notified. I was told that when the part came in they would call. The dealer never called. Due to lack of time on my part I did not follow up for two years and the light was on the entire time. When I did go back the dealer started that was to long ago and now the part is no longer under warranty despite being documented as bad while it was still under warranty. Now while searching for a part online I found that this is a known issue and the was a recall for this. Why don't the dealer fix it?.
Air bag light on dash came on indicating the air bag would not work. My local Hyundai dealer ( colonial Hyundai in downingtown, PA) said the front passenger seat belt tension electrical sensor was defective and needed replacing. I paid them almost $500 to do that. The front passenger seat belt tension sensor wiring harness was the object of a previous recall on this car and was done. Since the electrical sensor is on the same wiring harness which was the object of a recall I contacted Hyundai America (800-633-5151) and asked them if they would cover the cost of replacing this electical sensor since it was on the same wiring harness that was the object of a previous recall. They assigned me a case # 8052515 and got back to me and said they would not cover this cost. Seems odd that they would cover repairing part of this electrical assembly but not the rest of it so I am appealing to NHTSA for some help here or clarification. Thanks for your attention to this matter, thomas j. Wright, jr.
Started car and air bag light stayed , I'm not sure but I think there is recall for passenger front seat . . .
Air bag light (dash) comes on and stays on. Passenger air bag light does not indicate any fault. Code 1495.
Our airbag light is on all the time. Back in oct 2014, car had 119k miles, we took it to the dealer because there was a recall on the seat belt tensioner. They said that the car was salvage title so nothing could be done (salvage title due to hail damage). They said the recall had already been performed. They charged us for the diagnostic and recommended we replace the right (passenger) seat belt retractor assembly but we did not do this. Also, there are 2 cracks in the passenger side dashboard that were there when we bought the car. My husband thought it was probably sun damage, but I have since seen in the NHTSA comments that this is an issue due to airbag below.
The drivers side airbag light has been on since I took it for service on 7/23/2014. It went out for a day and came back on,staying on ever since.
I went to jim ellis (Hyundai) with "passenger airbag off" showing up intermittently when passenger is seated. When I got the car back and looked the next day that warning was there and also a red indicator was now showing in the dash. On 5/7/14 I went back and then was told there is no passenger airbag problem it is a driver airbag problem. I cannot accept that unless the car's indicator is wrong. Furthermore I pointed out to them about a recall for an OCS problem. They said there is no recall outstanding for this model that was fixed since 2010. I then called Hyundai corporate and upon checking my VIN they're saying yes there is a recall. Let the record show that the dealer viz. Jim ellis doesn't know of their own recall and do not want to fix a problem without me paying them. Meanwhile we have a safety hazard on the car. I am aware that you know of 1 recall whereby there is clip to be put on but please be aware that there is yet another similar problem to be fixed.
Airbag light came on while driving. Dealer said that the airbag seat pods under the seats were shorted and that the entire pods would need replacing - cost $1,627. I was driving a long distance without airbag protection on a long trip.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Azera. The contact stated the air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000. Pam.
Drivers side air bag light in the instrument panel is staying on. This means the airbag will not will not work if the light is on. I know there is a recall on the passenger side, but they will not recognize the drivers side air bag. To me if a light is on I believe that would also be an issue for a recall, but the company just poo poo's the claim. For anyone that has the same problem please call and make a report. The number for a complaint 1-888-327-4236. Please call and complain so this issue can be resolved.
Air bag light stays on in the dash (driver side). It will not go off. I was told that if that light stays on, my air bags are shut off and will not deploy if there is an accident. I was told that there was a class action suit concerning the airbags, but was told that the suit was only for the passenger side lights. I am told one thing by the dealer concerning the airbags (automax Hyundai of killeen (254-699-2629), and another by the Hyundai motor America (case # 6050686 telephone 1-877-277-0012). I am driving around now with no functional air bags, and this to me is a serious highway safety factorall I want is for my air bags to become functional again and me not having to pay for something that is supposed to be good for over 100,000 miles according to the american safety board. Thanking you in advance for your assistance, because I am sure not getting it from Hyundai or the dealer. Again thank you. Air bag light stays on and wont go out.
All kinds of electrical problems least of which is the cigarette lighter quit working. The powered passenger seat can not be moved any direction. Air bag light came on after hitting a fairly small pothole. Air bag light goes on for a few days/weeks then goes off. Passenger seatbelt indicator light comes on sometimes while passenger is wearing seatbelt sometimes the same light randomly comes on then goes off with no passenger and no weight in the seat. I have personally paid for a new battery and two starters which more than likely didn't need replaced because my car still won't start at random times. I first experienced it not starting around 79,000 miles I could tell it wasn't the battery cause I tried jump starting it and all the while the door chime lights and radio all worked fine. So I replaced the starter only to have it not start the very next day. Anyway a wire was replaced to the starter and all was fine for about 10,000 miles and the same non starting issues occured again amd again. Seems like I just keep trying to start it and maybe the 8th or 25th time it starts. . Running out of words and they would only let me pick 3 parts to write about also have issues with brakes cracks around passenger air bag on dash etc.
