There are two cracks leading from tht passenger side air bag. Lhave reported this to Hyundai but was denied . I was given no reason why. I consider this a serious safety problem because you will never know when the air bag will deploy.

At that time the accident occured, my wife took my daughter to school by my car. According to my wife, when she almost parked the car in parking lot of school, suddenly the car began to be accelerated without pushing accelerate pedal. She pushed the brake pedal continuously, but it never worked. Car turned right with full speed, and crashed into a tree behind the car and stopped. In crash, right side airbag burst out and front right side of my car was fully break up. My wife and my daughter were so shocked and frightened. For a while they can't do anything and my wife will not be able to drive any more.
The dash board has a cut out for the passenger side air bag on top and is somewhat perforated and thinner in that area. Due to a design defect, the dash cracks over that area. These have been replaced for some and not others. It appears that it is up to the local people. I brought my questions about this design to the dealer before the warranty expired, it then cracked and now they will not do anything to replace it. I hear the replaced ones crack too. I have heard that they can interfer with the air bag.
The contact owns a 2006 Hyundai Azera. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the side curtain air bag suddenly deployed. After the deployment, the air bag and traction control lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where she was informed that the failure was caused by a problem with the air bag and instructed to call the manufacturer. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that the failure was due to a collision sensor and they could offer no assistance because the sensor indicated that the vehicle had been in a collision. The current and failure mileages were approximately 48,000.
