Steering Noise Problems of Hyundai Azera

The steering seems to "lock" or stick in position while driving. It sometime takes considerable force to make the steering turn,. The action needed to "break" the steering free causes the vehicle to swerve. At highway speed, especially under slippery conditions, this could cause a loss of control of the vehicle. There is also noise coming from the steering column while turning. We leased the can when it was new and purchased it when the lease was expired, so I know the history of this vehicle. There have been no accidents or damage to the vehicle so far. The vehicle has 32,000 miles on it now. This condition has gotten worse in the last month. Thank you for any help you could give with this.

Loud clunking noise in steering and vibration when at highway speeds, took to repair shop and seen steering coupling needs to be replaced. After reseraching online I see that this is a very common complaint and should be recalled. My sonata had the same issue but was recalled and repaired. Clunking happens when driving or still and, sounds like metal loose in the column.

Clinking and clanking noise in the steering. This is the same problem reported by others. Sonata and elantra had a recall to replace the part but it was not recalled for Azera. Probably because not as many Azera's have been sold; but unfair that we also have the problem and Hyundai will not fix it. The noise happens when moving the steering wheel, when a bump is hit while driving. Shaking of the steering wheel also happens at detain speeds while driving.

2013 Hyundai Azera steering wheel makes a clicking noise when turning and is often stiff and hard to turn. And a loud clanking noise emits from the steering wheel housing going over almost any bump.
