Four problems related to clutch have been reported for the 1997 Hyundai Elantra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer was traveling on the interstate about 70 mph, applied the brakes and enganged the clutch, experienced complete clutch failure. Consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer aware of problem, parts were replaced. Please provide any further details.
Clutch slave cylinder failed.
If the drivers foot accidently slips off of the clutch pedal, the clutch is totally unresponsive until it's pumped numerous times.
Sometimes the clutch would not return to the original position after being applied while driving.
