6 Brake Light problem of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 12/01/2019

For the brakes and lighting issue, my brake lights go bad every couple of months and need changed. I believe this is possibly to do with the recall for brakes. I have had people on many occasions stop me in traffic to let me know an entire side of lights were out at once. I have been pulled over more than once as well for my brake lights in the four years I've had my car. I always keep spare lights in my car for this reason. I called a&b kia, where I bought my car, who said my car was not part of the recall. However, with the many issues I've had with my brake lights I believe it is related. More recently than my brakes, my cruise control has stopped working. Within the past year it has slowly went from working sometimes to not working at all. Other functions on the steering wheel, such as volume and radio controls have not been affected.

13 Brake Light problem of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra

My brake lights do not work, I've had them replaced 3 times. My rpms do not work when I push the gas, the vehicle won't go more than 20 mph, when changing my gears, it doesn't work, and when I am at a stop light or just sitting in a parking lot with the vehicle running it turns off on it's own. When I try to start the vehicle it won't turn most the time.

14 Brake Light problem of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 05/24/2018

I am the only owner of my 2013 Hyundai Elantra that I bought brand new. I have had several issues electrical with lighting turning on and off - I thought I was burning through bulbs quickly but I can go over a bump and brake lights or interior lights will start to work again. This has been ongoing. I recently started hearing a loud engine knock which the Hyundai dealership told me is normal and would go away once it warmed up. Turns out when I took it to a mechanic who is honest and know what he is talking about that it is a wrist pin. . . . Which means a whole new engine. My car is now just out of warranty and Hyundai does not want to assist even though there are many cases with 2013 Hyundai motors that are bad. There should be a recall on this but isnt. The NHTSA should step in and make Hyundai do the right thing.

16 Brake Light problem of the 2006 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 03/01/2018

Passenger airbag light in the center has never worked properly since I've gotten the car, the light never used to go off when an adult was sitting in the passenger seat which means the airbags were disabled. Now the dashboard airbag light has been illuminated constantly for about 6 months and does not ever go off, meaning all airbags are disabled. It came on upon starting up my vehicle and has not gone off since. This is very dangerous and a common problem with this car, but is not reported properly via NHTSA, instead many complaints are made via forums. Also, when driving at night and my headlights are on, turning the wheel and using the blinker causes all dash lights as well as my headlights and brake lights to flicker briefly. Rear windows are not able to be rolled down via the main control on the driver's side, only can be rolled up.

17 Brake Light problem of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 11/29/2017

Passenger side brake light has burned out twice in two months.

18 Brake Light problem of the 2012 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 11/15/2017

After about 60,000 miles all of my exterior lights are constantly going out completely. Within the last six months I have changed my brake lights at least 8 times. My head lights have been changed about four times and my high beams both went out at the same time. One day I was driving on the inner state and all my back exterior lights went out. Some days they may work if I have the lights position in the on position instead of automatic daylight position and vice versa. This started happening roughly around the end of 2017 and over time it has gotten worse. This is very unsafe to operate a vehicle and all your lights go out not to mention its expensive to continue to replace bulbs that won't work beyond a month.

20 Brake Light problem of the 2007 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 07/04/2017

For a few months I had a rattling noise coming from the rear of the car when my car was idling on a city street facing downhill (at a stop sign). Then it got suddenly worse for 2 days, so that it rattled all the time when idling in drive or park (stopped at lights or signs or in a parking space). Then it completely stopped rattling - and the next day another driver on the highway, on the 4th of July, notified me that my brake lights were not working. I don't know if it is a coincidence or not.
