Turn Signal Problems of Hyundai Elantra

In front of vehicle there are side marker park lights and in center there are 2 park light turn signal combinations. Drivers side park lamp in center works passenger side does not inside headlight assembly on passenger side there is not a power feed wire on original or replacement for the park light circuit. Drivers side does have this wire.

During the past three years I have had to replace all of the brake lights, turn signals lights, day time running lights at least every three months and when removing the bulbs they are hard to get out and the connector is melted and burnt. The turn signals will short out and then work again regularly while in motion and stationary.

At inspection, mechanic noted severe and dangerous rust to subframe and subfloor in multiple areas of vehicle. Rear portion of subframe was almost completed rusted through. Additionally noted issues with rp brake light, plate light and fp turn signal. Ongoing issue with fusses and bulbs continually blowing/going out.

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that the passenger side turn signal was blinking and the brake lights failed to illuminate. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (Hyundai on perryville, 343 n perryville rd, rockford, IL 61107, (815) 229-0089) where it was diagnosed that the bulbs needed to be replaced. The bulbs were replaced, but the failure recurred. The contact stated that the incorrect bulbs were installed. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 111,021.

Purchased a new 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS 4 door. Once a person turns on their daytime running lights all of the vehicles parking lights turn on as well. No other car manufacture has mandated all this illumination during daytime hours. On August 3rd 2012 at 11:40am I was issued a moving violation by a los angeles police officer in the city of van nuys, c. A. I was cited for violating California vehicle code section 24800 which states "no vehicle shall be driven at any time with the parking lamps lighted except when the lamps are being used as turn signal lamps or when the headlamps are also illuminated". I explained the scenario to my lawyer and he advised me that the citation is valid because in c. A. The word headlamps in vc section 24800 is interpreted by the courts as the vehicles primary source of forward illumination and daytime running lights do not fall into this primary source category. To avoid future citations I highly recommend that if you operate any 2013+ Hyundai product do not use the daytime running light feature because the parking lights will light up and you will be subject to a citation.
