Wheel Rim Problems of Hyundai Elantra

2013 Hyundai Elantra. Consumer writes in regards to problems with vehicle tires. The consumer stated snow compacted in the wheel wells and in the tire rims, which resulted in the vehicle vibrating, as if the tires were not balanced. The dealer recommended replacing the tires and rims with 15 inch wheels and rims at a cost of $800. The consumer has since traded the vehicle.

2002 Hyundai Elantra. Consumer states vehicle has faulty lower control arms the consumer stated the lower control arm failed twice. The consumer became of aware of recall and the dealer replaced the lower control arm free of charge the second time. The first time, the consumer went to a repair shop and paid at his expense. The consumer was also informed the air bag light was on, all four struts needed to be replaced as well as the rims and tires.

The contact owns a 2002 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that the vehicle vibrated because the rims were bent. The rims were replaced, but the vehicle continued to vibrate because the rims did not fit the hub. Currently, the vehicle continued to vibrate. The contact was concerned about spending money on the vehicle ,only for it not to be properly repaired. The current mileagewas 55,100 and failure mileage was 53,767.

The contact stated at 60-65 mph noticed vibration in vehicle. He took the vehicle to the dealership, and they found three rims were bent. The vehicle is currently being repaired with new rims.

We get a wind noise when driving into the wind and other misc times. Noise sounds like an alarm clock without the pauses in tone. It sounds to be eminating from front of vehicle, windsheild, or the doors. The dealer thinks its the door seals. Waiting to see. Been to the shop 5 times for this problem now! 1st time they didn't know what it was, never heard of this problem, couldn't duplicate, second time they knew exactly what it was, ordered door seals. 3rd time they got the wrong door seals, forth time, they got one wrong door seal again! fift time the have had it for one week three days to this date! also revs up to high during start up. Dealer stated that the transmission was at fault???? that it had to catch in gear????? this is a manual! what is he talking about!!!!?? also has bent rims! we have baby-ed that car! only 2400 miles and bent rims! this car is a lemon!! what do you think? bear@tbhod.
