Hi I recently brought my car in for recall repairs involving the abs fuse and brake pedal stopper. Right after the service, my traction control light came on, and the car struggled to move forward. I took it to a mechanic who said the front brakes were locked. When I brought it back to your service center, I was told the hydraulic calipers were bad and that the brake pads and rotors were rubbing against each other. I was also told it’s just an "unfortunate coincidence. " however, since I had no brake issues before the recall work, I’m very concerned that something may have gone wrong during the service.

A car pulled out in front of me. I hit my brakes and now the calipers are locked. When the incident happened the brakes on the left side of the car locked up. I have no warning lights and the caliper is still locked. I have been to a couple mechanics and no one understands. If you unplug the brake line from the abs unit the calipers release. Front calipers, brakes, and brake lines have been replaced.

My steering wheel started making loud rattling and clunking noise. This happened when I turned or slowed down or went over a bump. It got worse very quickly. I suddenly could not steer at all. So I ran into a pole. Thankfully it wasn't another car or a person. Many people have this same issue. This needs to be recalled ASAP. It's either the pinion and rack issue or the steering wheel issue.

Every time I go up a hill the slippery road light comes up. It’s hard to drive straight. I have to drive under the speed limit going up hills. Sometimes it won’t even let me park. I hear rattling when I drive over a certain speed limit. When I brake I feel the brake pad pushing back. And now my wheels are making noise when I turn them.

My safety was a risk on August 25th as I was driving back home from work. As I was about to make a right turn, the wheel was hard to turn for second which resulted in me making a wider turn. Thankfully no other cars were around. As I parked, the wheel would swing back and forth and make a swishing sound when touched. A couple of weeks prior to the incident, I had a family friend conduct an oil change. I had mention to him about my steering wheel problem and my tire light being on— all of these problems started at the end of July). He said the steering issue is not normal and not good at all since it ruined the front of my tires. He said in order to fix the tires, I would have to get the steering problem checked and fixed first. He and my warranty recommend me to go to a certified mechanic since he didn’t have the tools to properly diagnose and that I can get it fix through my warranty. After going to united service automative, the certified mechanic told me that his diagnosis was pointing to errors in the electrical steering wheel system. Unfortunately, I had to pay for the inspection since my warranty said they couldn’t fix it. The certified mechanic recommended me to go to the actual manufacturer/dealer to get it checked. I have made several calls to lithia Hyundai of fresno about this issue since August 24th. I talked about to at least 4 employees that this is a safety concern. Answers I got back were “by appointment your car cannot be seen until January 2024…you can walk-in but we cannot guarantee your car will be looked at and can actually sit in the shop for a week or more until we look at it. ” I have been also hanged up on twice and had to go through the sales department. No one seems to be taking me serious or taking precautious measures. I will be doing a walk-in on Monday, August 28th, 2023 requesting a safety inspection and how can I get the car fixed since I am still paying off the car.

On July 25, 2023, I was driving in our town when I heard a noise coming from the rear of the car. I was very close to a repair facility that I sometimes use, so I slowly drove there. They looked at the car and showed me that the rear driver-side wheel was about to fall off. They then raised the car in the shop and told me that the rear upper-control arm had rusted through and broken, causing the wheel to break off. They showed me a photo of this. I was also told that had this happened on a highway at a higher speed, there could have been fatalities because control of the car would have been seriously affected. I contacted Hyundai about this and they told me to take to a dealer to be looked at. I refused to pay for this inspection and I now do not trust Hyundai.

When you go to stop at a stop. Sihn or in general it fails to do so. It locks up an I slide an almost hit people multiple times. Today I was backing out of a parking lot an when I went to turn my steering wheel straight it locked up an failed to let me counter steer it. Causing me to go over a curb an almost blow my tire out. Leaving my tire with a big bubble on the side of my tire. Eventually going to lead to a blow out.

Car unable to pass smog check engine issues. Wheels no good.
I got this used car from Hyundai courtesy in late 2020. My issue with this used car is that there is no tpms reset button to get the tires back to have the same tire pressure. Even with battery mode reset done, the tires are always out of sync after a few days or hours. I do go to the dealership to get the tpms fixed but after a few days, it is back to out of sync. I am writing to the safety board to inform them and hopefully, Hyundai corporate can look into this electrical issue.

Vehicle been at walser Hyundai since about August 1st. Shop waiting for parts for repairs.

I noticed a loud ticking noise from my engine 6 months ago and took it to my mechanic assuming it needed an oil change sooner. However the noise became much worse the past month and a half and again took it to my mechanic which found it is an issue inside the motor itself and they could not figure it out except many 2013 Hyundai Elantra's have in fact had engine failure and recommended I take it to a dealer. I instead took it today to ntb assuming it was another issue with tires and unable to accelerate which almost caused me an accident on the interstate. Ntb found that this is a serious issue with the engine and confirmed Hyundai is aware of the issue but will not issue any recalls due to this. My car is only 9 years old and when I bought it brand new there were already many recalls that was repaired. When I called the Hyundai dealership near me I was told no recalls were issued but they are aware of the problem and just for me to bring it in it will be extremely costly just to look at it including around $5,000/$7,000 to replace the engine if this is the issue which was confirmed by 2 auto shops. I have found many reports and documentation of engine failure with not being able to accelerate and my car has done this 3xs on an extremely busy interstate in which I was almost rear ended and would have been killed. I will once again contact the Hyundai dealership near me with hopes of receiving a free inspection of the engine. I will also be sending information to our west virginia attorney general and close friend patrick morrisey along with documentation of recent and previous repairs of brakes and countless purchasing of tires as well as having to replace tie rods numerous times. This also includes my cruise control will accelerate which I have received a ticket even when I told the officer my cruise control was stuck and no matter what I tried it would not shut off including when I stopped and put my car in park. My ultimate concern is the engine.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that while parking the vehicle and turning to the right or the left, there was an abnormal grinding sound coming from nearby the wheels. The contact stated that while continuing to turn the steering wheel, the sound would stop. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer however, the mechanic could not determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired; and the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 4,000.

Hired a local tire shop to install winter tires on a second set of wheels, with a second set of tpms sensors. Later, I discovered the car was not picking up the sensors, but it also failed to illuminate the tpms sensor alert. When I took it back to the tire shop, they checked the tpms with their own sensors and said they were working fine, so they didn't know why the car didn't detect them. I called my Hyundai dealer, and they said that aftermarket tpms often don't work, and I have to use Hyundai-approved tpms. This is fine, but the owner's manual ought to say so. I checked the owner's manual, and it doesn't say that only Hyundai-approved tpms can be used. The dealer replied that Hyundai doesn't like people installing aftermarket parts. I replied that installing winter tires is not usually considered an aftermarket modification, and a person shouldn't be inhibited from installing winter tires. So all I ask is that the owners manual should make this clear. In the section on tpms, it should say that only Hyundai-approved tpms sensors should be used, or else it should say that if the driver installs a second set of wheels with winter tires, that this installation should be done by a Hyundai dealer and not by another tire shop. Of course, the owner could install the winter tires on the factory wheels with the factory tpms. But this would mean that every season, the all-season and winter tires would be swapped and re-mounted and re-balanced, which is unnecessary. It is standard practice to buy a second set of wheels and tpms sensors to make seasonal tire changeover easier. Since installing winter tires on a second set of wheels is a routine practice, and not usually considered an aftermarket modification, therefore, if this car has special tpms requirements, they should be indicated in the manual.
The engine stalled out while driving on the highway. No indicator warning lights came on. The vehicle would not restart. Had to be pushed off the road. Prior to the engine, the tire pressure gauge warning indicator light did not work when tire went flat. I was driving on the interstate 23 back end slid. I pulled off the road and the driver side back tire was completely flat. Put on spare tire. All the lights on dash came on . Went straight to tire garage had 2 tires on back put on. The vehicle is at tim short Hyundai dealership in pikeville ky. Has been there since 03/11/2022. The engine problem occurred 02/26/22. I had vehicle taken to carbon auto repair shop in paintsville ky. The mechanic stated the engine would have to be replaced. I called Hyundai dealership and informed what happened. They scheduled an appointment for inspection. Case # 19459076. Case manager is shemroy # is 1-833-462-8722 ext65413. Tim short Hyundai dealership in pikeville ky # is 1-606-437-1300. I have called the dealership several occasions no results or they leave me on the line until it automatically hangs up. They do the case manager same way. I have only had the vehicle for a 1 year and it is only 4years old total. This is a safety hazard. Multiple vehicles were around me both incidents. I have seen recalls on same make and model as my vehicle. I just don't want this to continue to happen. I would appreciate any help. I uploaded emails to show as well as I have several voicemails saved. I just want the right thing done. Also the paint has peeled off hood roof and now the side panels. The vehicle is at dealership in pikeville ky if you would inspected it. Has been there since this occurred.
Sometime around last November or December, I took my vehicle for oil change and other services performed at pep boys, I was notified that all four tires are almost worn out and needs to be replaced. All four tires were replace sometime in December 2021 and they also did the wheel balance and wheel alignment. Around January 2022, while driving, I could feel the tightness on the steering wheel and also my car pulling left and at times crossing into the adjacent lane and was tough on the steering wheel to bring it back to the previous lane. I informed pep boys and they carried out some tests and also did a wheel alignment at no cost. The problem hasn't been fixed, there's a knocking noise in the steering wheel and the car is still pulling right, there's also the sensor light flashing in the dashboard, which the mechanic at pep boys is unable to fix even after carrying out diagnostic tests. The vehicle is available for inspection, it has been inspected by pep boys, the warning lamp for the wheels is continuously flashing and pep boys has been unable to determine the course.
When changing out the wheels and tpms sensors even with the right frequency the Elantra n will not pick up the new tpms sensors. They told me at one dealership it had to be the factory sensors. Then quoted me $700 for new sensors.
The airbag light turned on about a month ago, and it stays on for a while then goes off then goes back on and so on. It is very disturbing that this could be a life threatening issue. My tire pressure sensor light is always on. I check the pressure at least once a week to make sure it’s okay, but the light is always on.
I was in the inside left turn lane turning left and as I was turning my steering wheel my car was not turning, it was continuing to go straight. I hit my brakes so I wouldn’t crash into the car turning next to me and then my wheels finally turned as I was braking so it caused me to burn the tires and swerve. I’m not sure if any lights came on as I was trying not to crash into the vehicle next to me. I have an appointment for the dealership to look at it.
Driver's side headlight will not change from high beam to low beam. Oncoming traffic flash there high beams at me to warn me that my high beam is on making night travel impossible. I also can't drive through a city or I will get a citation for high beams on in city limits. The next issue I've noticed is the passenger side rear tire wears unusually fast.
Hankook ventus s1 noble tires sized 225/40 r18 tires are cracking on the sidewall. I had a 2018 model of this same vehicle and it happened on those tires as well. I just noticed this last night on the 2019 model.
I have already reported my problem regarding the recall #107096 for suspension front spring coil. Nhtsa campaign id 15v629000; date: oct. 7, 2015 if a front coil spring fractures, it may contact the tire, possibly puncturing it, increasing the risk of a crash. . . And wanted to update since I have since contacted Hyundai. This was their reply: campaigns and recalls are VIN specific, therefore, your 2011 Elantra may have been produced in the same time period as the affected vehicles but at a different factory. Not all Elantra's for this time period were recalled. Only the affected VIN's. My vehicle was manufactured during the affected dates, but they are apparently only VIN specific. My concern is that I had the same problem and the coil spring fractured. . . If others outside the VIN specific are also experiencing the problem maybe they need to expand the recall for this potentially deadly problems and would like to warn others to get this checked even though Hyundai will not cover the problem.
While driving my husband heard a loud pop. Immediately the front passenger tire went flat which caused severe loss of control. Thankfully he was on a local road with no other cars at the time. Apparently a coil spring fractured off and slashed the tire. This spring still looked brand new yet it just sheered off which must be some type of defect in manufacturing of the part. While researching this I found a recall #107096 for suspension front spring coil yet my 2011 Elantra does not show up for this recall? this defect in the spring coil could have caused catastrophic effects if we were driving faster on highway. I haven't yet been able to contact Hyundai in regards to this yet but you should be aware. . . . This defect which could be deadly depending on the circumstances. I now have to pay $1000 to repair the struts and coils on both sides. I'm not sure why Hyundai has not recalled all cars, but this must be addressed for safety.
On December 5th, 2020 at approximatly 0645am I was driving my Elantra without and iissues or pre-indicators that something very bad was about to happen. I was on a busy road that is traveled all times of the day, getting on interstate 270 in columbus headed west. I estimate (picture included from accident site and where the freeway started) about 1000 feet until I merge onto the well traveled highway. Iwhen I I completed my slight turn associated with this paticular on ramp, I lose control of the vehicle without warning, my car went in two circles. My steering did not work as well as my brakes. I would like to also note that this paticular on ramp also has steady, fast moving traffic from another street merging together before ww all get on the highway. Two cars and a tractor trailor were able to avoid me. I am convinced that only by the grace of god himself was I not seriously hurt or my children in the car with me. My only means to stop was fiannlly the guardrail. I also thank god for this guard rail becaiuse there is a steep embankment with a body of water at the bottom. I estimate at the time of collison I was approaching at least 40 mph. My head hit the drivers side window. No bleeding, just stunned. (nobody stopped btw). When I was able to collect my thoughts and call someone. I was able to call my friend for a ride. He was shocked when he arrived that I was okay. He wanted to go to the er because of the goose egg on my noggin but during a pandemic I think I'll wait. He calls aaa for me and we get the car towed back to my home. It will never be drivable again but in my state of shock it was my most plausible option. Upon, inspecting the car, the tire rod snapped clean off the wheel.

It was noticed on my nexen tire that a bubble had occurred on the exterior/side of the tire. When I brought my car to the Hyundai dealership to look at it, they told me that the bubble occurs when going over a bump in the road, and the cables on the inside of the tire push out to create the bubble in the tire. It is a safety hazard while driving, and a blowout could possibly occur. The technician at the dealership mentioned that they see multiple cars each month with these bubbles on the nexen tires. Nexen is the tire company that Hyundai uses for their new vehicles. When I called nexen about the issue, they told me to file a claim, which has been approved and compensation will be provided for tire replacement. They didn't indicate if this was a common occurrence or not, but when in conversation with a representative, it appeared that they were familiar with the issue and were quick to respond about filing a claim.

The car had many small problems to begin with. The steering wheel never sat straight and there were many lights for low tire pressure even though the pressure was fine. The transmission also broke 3 months after purchasing. I noticed the car started to shake and handle became very hard to control. Suddenly the rpm went all the way 8 on the highway. The car started to shake violently and I had to pull over to the side of the interstate. This was a near miss accident. If I had driven a little further where there was a merge in the highway, I would have definitely lost my life. When I called Hyundai customer support, they also informed me that other Hyundai Elantra's were also experiencing transmission problems and they predicted a recall in the near future.
When accelerating after stop car lunges and then starts to move, since bought it I have told dealership several times they say nothing wrong that how it is. Also tires have all fell apart or went flat and have wire showing on inside . I feel this is safety concern and when buying a new car tires should last longer than 1 year I should not acceleration problems either. I have some picture.
Tl- the contact owned a 2012 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, when the seized and another vehicle rear ended her vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact did not have any injuries or seek medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not drivable. The insurance adjuster deemed the vehicle was loss. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of unknown. Dp.
The airbag light on my dash came on about a month ago for no apparent reason and I had my car inspected and no codes were shown. The reason for the airbag light is still unknown and I worry that the airbag wont deploy if I get into an accident. I've heard this happening to several different Hyundai Elantra owners and I think there should be a solution for this common problem.
I purchased a new Hyundai Elantra 2018 with the original tires, hankook ventus s1 noble 2. The tires are balanced, rotated, and aligned every 5,000 miles. I noticed the sidewalls have severe cracks on all 4 tires. I feel this is a huge defect and in no way normal wear and tear. I also believe it is also a huge safety issue. I took the car back to the Hyundai dealership where it was purchased and was told they couldn't do anything as the tires are not under warranty. I also called the Hyundai complaint department and was told the same thing. They told me that I needed to contact the tire manufacturer, hankook. I had done that twice before, and was told I needed to take the car to an authorized hankook dealer. I then took the car to a tire kingdom, an authorized hankook dealer, as recommended by hankook. The service manager looked at the tires and agreed that the cracked/splitting sidewalls were indeed a defect, called hankook himself, explained what he saw, and was told there was nothing hankook could do. The cracked sidewalls are indeed a safety issue and an accident waiting to happen. This is an issue which has occurred before with these same hankook tires (ventus s1 noble 2) on Hyundai vehicles, in which a recall was issued and tires (47,000) were replaced free of charge. The recall was for tires produced between may 2013 and Feb. 2015. Although my tires have a different dot, it seems they have the same problem or worse. This issue needs to be investigated and the problem needs to be remedied before people get hurt or in an accident due to faulty tires.
When I pulled out of my drive way at about 5 mph and began increasing speed (10-15 mph), I felt like my front tires may have needed air. I checked my dash and confirmed that all the sensors for tire pressure were on and working and the air pressure seemed to be fine. I began to increase speed and by this time was traveling east bound at aprox. 55 mph on the hwy, when the front left tire suddenly felt loose. I wasn't sure if it was my tire or the road itself but before I could even switch lanes my tire seemed to jerk me over to the left side of the road. My back tire fell off the ledge of the hwy and caused me to pull the wheel to try to correct the imbalance but I didn't have enough time before the steering wheel was wandering off toward the left causing me to smash head on into a tree into the center divider.
I purchased a car from al at island auto sales, (631) 569-5050, 330 east main street, suite b, patchogue, NY 11772. 1-air bag light was/is on at all the time. 2-car was out of alignment/worn inside tires all times. 3-car transmission all of the sudden slows and then jumps, very frequently, while driving al said he will fix the issues. He aligned the car, but is still pulling to the side. I took it to a mechanic shop and he said: "tires are worn out from inside and can cause serious damage. Airbag speed detection sensor is missing all together and can be very dangerous. I have contacted al, via phone, email and fax, and asked him to correct the two issues. He is not responding. That is why I am contacting you for help. I have a record of my communications with island auto sales.
