Sunroof glass shattered while driving on interstate 295 jacksonville,FL for reasons unknown. Luckily interior sunroof shade was pulled close or the shattered glass fragments would have fallen on passengers heads, the sunroof oem is a powered sunroof that was in closed position and is not used or opened often. Outside weather at time was day light about 4:45pm no rain temp about 55 degrees. Called local Hyundai dealer to see if there were any open recalls & TSB's related to the sunroof shattering. They said none. I have pictures if needed. I tried to upload them but your website kicked me out when I hit the upload link below.

Driver’s side rear passenger door mechanism has failed. Door will not open when handle is pulled from the outside of the vehicle, nor when the occupant uses the interior door handle. This hinders the occupants from exiting the vehicle and is unsafe. Maintenance personnel have replicated the issue and have found no root cause.

In July 2023, the driver's side passenger door stopped opening for no reason. There was no damage nor was there an accident. Upon researching this issue, I learned that this is a common problem for the 2015 Hyundai Genesis models. It is not safe to have passengers ride in the vehicle as they could not get out in the event of a flood, fire or accident. On July 20, 2023, I contacted Hyundai motor America and was assigned case no. 21756483. Max, national consumer affairs, Hyundai motor America, (833) 462-8722 xx65522, was assigned. On August 4, 2023, max scheduled an appointment at roseville Hyundai for September 29, 2023. No repairs were performed nor was a clear diagnosis made as Hyundai did not if indicate it would pay for the repairs. On October 10, 2023, rae, a service employee from the dealership, left a voicemail that due to the age of the vehicle and miles outside the warranty, Hyundai would not assume responsibility for the repair. A consumer of a vehicle has a reasonable expectation that all four car doors will open and close for many years. Due to the cost and supply issues, consumers are keeping their cars longer. We have owned many vehicles and even three Hyundai vehicles at the time of this incident, and not once did a door cease to open. I am seeking assistance from Hyundai repair this safety issue.
The left rear passenger door does not open from inside or outside. I have looked online and see that this or similar problems affect many Genesis sedans as well as other Hyundai vehicles. We needed to seat two young children in the back seat and realized how dangerous it is if something happens and the car door can't be opened from inside or outside. How would rescue teams extract the passenger? how could the passenger extract him/herself? many people reported paying a lot of money to the dealership to repair this problem. I believe this is a safety hazard that the company should be responsible for. This problem began recently, with no warning. The key fob does not open the door either.
The fuel door will not open, even with the emergency latch located within the trunk. A cursory search of reddit and other forums has revealed the problem to be widespread among other Hyundai owners, with no solutions offered by Hyundai or Genesis. The safety issue is obvious in that drivers will be stranded in unexpected places.
I was attempting to open the rear door to help my child exit the car when the exterior door handle broke off in my hand leaving me unable to open the door. Luckily there was no emergency and I was able to use another door. I was told this is a common problem with these door handles and feel it could create an entrapment issue under the worst circumstances.
Part number 82655-2m000 door handle base broke. This makes it so the door cannot be opened from the outside. If I were in an accident and my door was crushed no one could open the other door to get me out. This same pet was in a safety recall for a different model of theirs.

Driver rear door latch failed, door refuses to open from the outside or the inside. Passenger may become trapped in the event of an accident requiring exit from that door. No warnings or symptoms present before the failure. Multiple forum posts detailing similar symptoms.
The rear passenger door will not open from inside or from outside of the vehicle. The door lock mechanism has failed internally while the door was shut. This causes a safety issue as passengers are not able to exit the vehicle in an emergency event. Worse, a child car seat is not able to be accessed as the door will not open. There are not warning lights in the vehicle to alert you that the door lock/handle mechanism has failed. Hyundai/genesis will not repair the defective components under warranty, as they consider it a wear item. As the door will not open it is extremely difficult to repair this issue. The door panel has to be cut off which renders it destroyed. The door lock/latch mechanism has failed at 60000 miles and with a vehicle that is 6 years old. This is a huge safety issue as people will become trapped in a crash, which can lead to injury and loss of life.
The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Genesis coupe. The contact stated that he noticed water in the trunk of the vehicle. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact was concerned about mold and an electrical failure from the water intrusion inside the trunk of the vehicle. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Vehicle rear driver-side door will not open from inside or outside when handles are pulled. Leaves left rear seat inaccessible and unable to quickly egress the vehicle in case of accident, fire etc.
Passenger front door handle snapped free when attempting to open. The rear plastic retaining cap failed prematurely on a seldomly used door. The failure resulted in the door not being able to be opened from the outside. If this occurred during an emergency situation where the front passenger was incapacitated and needed rapid extraction it is probable the passenger would wind up a fatality.

The car was parked (not running or moving) in an open air grocery store parking lot. I was in the grocery store for approximately 20 minutes and came out to find a crowd and a fire crew who had just put out the fire in the hood area of my car. I have photos of the car but they are on my phone and I don't know how to send them to computer.
The shark fin cover fell off for no apparent reason. No automated car washes, no inclement weather and the screw holders (plastic) broke. Has to be a manufacturing defect. I can't find replacement cover. I was driving on a highway on a clear night.
1. In a stationary position both incidents the left and right passenger door handles while opening the doors on different times once in 2019 the other 2020 completely came off. The first issue I went to service department at norm reeves Hyundai in California off of the 605 freeway where they glue it back together and not opening the inside of the door to remove the broken pieces that fell inside the door which you can hear each time I close the door for the right side back passenger door. Second issues the left side back passenger door handle came apart the same way trying to open the door it just completely came off. I call my insurance company usaa file a claim took the vehicle to caliber collision hear in kyle, texas and they glued back on no pieces broke off inside the door. Now I have a problem with the right side headlight bulb that keeps going out while im driving. I took it to south point Hyundai July 6,, 2020 for this issue. According to the service report they identified the bulb needed to be replaced and replaced it. I told them the bulb is not the problem, they needed to find out whats causing it to go out. On July 7, 2020 bulb went out again retuned back to south point Hyundai all they did was opened the hood the service guy giggled something on the right side headlight and it came on, I told him thats is so unprofessional and should not have happened just to get my headlight to work. On September 7, 2020 bulb went out again call September 8, 2020 the service manager told me to bring the car in after I explained what happened for the second time after ive been charged for the service that did not fix the problem. Once I reached south point Hyundai the service manager john wayne drive my vehicle around the back drove back after 30 minutes and told me its going to cost me $130. Not including labor to fix the problem. I just left very upset.
This is awful, I was just driving on a sunny Sunday and I heard the wind and start wondering what is causing it. Then I opened the sunroof window and pieces of glass started to fall over my head and all over my car. This is ridiculous, why Hyundai is using so cheap glass that explodes when driving under normal circumstances? they need to be accountable for that and admitted they have a problem. I research online, and there's a lawsuit in which they agreed to fix it but who knows, that was in 2019. I will take it to the dealership, but the experience isn't a pleasant one.
I own a Hyundai Genesis coupe 2014, with 60k miles. I maintain my car both the interior and exterior. The car is pearl white paint, it is turning yellow and chipping off the car. Social media has hundreds of complaint about the paint on Hyundai cars. The paint is a manufacturer defect. I am asking for you to research and recall the paint on Hyundai cars. I would like my paint corrected and covered by the manufacturer/Hyundai company. I would have reported this earlier but I didn't know this was an option. I tried contacting corporate and local car dealer where I bought the car. They will not stand by the product or this very complaint. Please let me know what I can do to get the paint corrected. Thank you!.
Received a letter stating that the glass in front of sunroof could crack and shatter. That is exactly what has happen, it start with cracks at the corners, then along the bottom and top and now the rubber that holds it, broke off.
My daughter got hit by 2 cars and only the headrest popped opened but no airbags went off. A car hit the car behind her, she was a complete stop, the car that hit the car behind her then hit her on the passenger side (almost like a t-bone). She now has a lot of shoulder, neck and spine issues from getting slammed into the drivers door. If the side airbag would have gone off, she would not be in so much pain from getting hit from behind and 2 seconds later got hit from the side. I see lots of issues on the coupe but not on the sedan models & I feel that others should know this too. Also, colorado police forgot to put passenger in her car on the report and they refuse to fix it. Her passenger took the hit on passenger door and they had to pull the other car out of my daughters car. We are very concerned on the frame damage, but the collision repair said "don't worry about it, it will be find if hit again, her airbags did not go off either. The damage was just over $11k and insurance valued car at $17k with no proof on how they came up with not totaling the car. She is paranoid to drive it now, cuz we don't know if the airbags will go off. Collision company refused to check the sensors, stating "we should have had them checked before we bought the car". What? so I am not sure how they can say if safe to pick the car up and okay to drive. Also, state fam was not very helpful at all.
Sunroof spontaneously shattered on the highway causing paint damage and cuts on my hands. I was traveling at 65mph going straight.

Rear passenger door lock inoperable. Not able to open door from inside or outside. Safety issue, vehicle accommodates two child car seats in the rear. Component failure, should be a recall. Safety issue.
The vehicle is was on a highway doing 70mph with no other vehicles in front or near by. The panoramic sunroof suddenly exploded sending tiny pieces of glass all over the vehicle interior. The sunroof was not hit by any debri on the road. The weather was sunny with 50f.
About a month before the incident, the vehicle was fully imspected in official dealership, no issues reported. A few days before the incident, the wipers started working with the engine off; I scheduled an appointment for an inspection. The vehicle was leased with about 10 months left on the lease. On April 13, 2018 after driving for 1,5-2 hours, I parked it and went to the office for 10-15 minutes; on my way back to the vehicle I heard the fire trucks coming; as I was approaching my vehicle I realized that my vehicle was on fire. The inspector reported the engine explosion due to manufacturers problem. So basically happy to be alive as nobody knows what would had happened with me and my kids in the vehicle driving on a highway; so after more than 3,5 months Hyundai finncial still did not close the case although they stated that they are in the process of paying off the vehicle. Nobody ever said sorry; I call to Hyundai / Hyundai financial every day and all they do is they tranfer me from one department to another; the case manager assigned to our case never picks the phone, never calls back, to reach him I need to call to the supervisor and complain and only than I receive a call from him. 2 months ago he stated he would close the case the coming Monday. No actions since then so far.
Water intrusion into the rear trunk during heavy rains or after a car wash.
The trunk closes hard, and won't stay up when raised. . Almost lost some fingers vehicle was off and parked in my garage.

While driving at about 75mph on massachusetts turnpike near palmer, MA at approx. 4:30pm on March 8, 2017 the sunroof exploded. There was no warning and no sound prior to explosion of anything hitting the glass. I pulled to the side of the road and called haddad Hyundai in pittsfield, MA to report problem and arrange for repair. No injuries.
The a pillar hinge has broken all of the wells in this area. It make a lot of noise when going on bumps. The wells have broke on both sides of the car. The car has never been in a accident and occurred over a few weeks of driving.
Panoramic sun roof binding on closing. At times it will retract as if there is an obstruction. There is also a creaking noise while the vehicle is in motion.
While driving on expressway at normal highway speed we heard a very loud noise, and a few seconds later the head liner of the car started to flap due to wind interference. We soon realized that our sunroof was broken. Glass shards were mostly held back by headliner. However, some glass shards fell into passenger compartment. We were not injured. We stopped and saw that the remaining glass pointed upwards, and that the sunroof window frame did not seem to be bent. These details seems to indicate an explosion of the glass instead of a hit from a foreign object.
My wife was hit from the rear and pushed into a tree dead center. The air bag did not inflate she received 4 broken ribs and a broken chest bone she was making a u turn and the other car was speeding and hit her in the rear and pushed her 100 feet across the street into a tree.
Lot of noise on front of sunroof (rattle).
Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Hyundai Genesis. The contact stated that the there was a fracture in the passengers side of the dashboard that was causing the passengers air bag to be visible. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000. Mf.
Defective panoramic sunroof. Has failed to be repaired and constantly creeks and pops as if it is going to fly off roof. Hyundai corporate repaired the car earlier this year and replaced the roof, but it is worse now than it was prior to the repair. The roof makes noises at any speed.
Front right door (drivers door) does not close properly. When you pull it closed from the inside, or push it from outside the vehicle, it sounds like it has closed but upon inspection you find it is only closed to the first latch. Many times I have been driving down the road and had an alarm come on telling me the door was not closed.
