Electrical System Problems of Hyundai Genesis - part 2

My 2016 Hyundai Genesis has several open recalls. I cannot get a dealership to help me get these issues resolved. One recall in particular Hyundai recall number 254 is causing major safety issues. My car does not start 90% of the time without being jumped and now the car will die out while driving. It has caused me to almost wreck several times. I have called all of the local Hyundai dealerships none of which say they can get me in for weeks and that there is no fix for my problem. If I do get to someone to book an appointment, when they hear the problem they put me on permahold and then the line disconnects! this is a major safety issue and needs to be fixed by Hyundai immediately.

The radio or bluetooth no longer works due to the audio no longer working. The driver side front window does not work due to an electrical problem.

The fuel module, fuse assembly, and relay were replaced or repaired. The vehicle was kept for the remedies to be completed; however, approximately 2-3 weeks after the remedies were completed, the vehicle would hesitate when driving at various speeds, the engine would stall without warning, and the vehicle would fail to start on initial start-up, intermittently. The contact used engine cleaner, seafoam, and lucas cleaner for the engine; however, the engine failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who was not able to provide a diagnosis or make contact for any updates since the vehicle's been returned. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and had 2 cases of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

Hyundai has failed to issue a timely remedy to this fire hazard. Hyundai has, for the second time in my ownership of same vehicle, recommended parking outside due to risk of fire. This recall has been in effect nearly 4 months.

On February 13, 2024, my vehicle was not starting at all, prompting me to seek professional assistance. Subsequently, the car was towed to a nearby auto shop for a comprehensive diagnostic. The findings indicated that the starter was the root cause of the issue and required replacement. Additionally, a battery replacement was deemed necessary. Coincidentally, on the same day, a recall notice was issued regarding the starter, citing a fire risk associated with the component. In light of the recall notice, the vehicle was relocated from the auto shop to my residence. On February 19, 2024, the car was then towed to the dealership for further investigation and confirmation of the starter diagnostic, as advised by Hyundai corporate by an agent named, doreen. I contacted Hyundai corporate on Friday, February 16, 2024, seeking guidance about the starter diagnosis. Their recommendation was to have the car towed to the dealership to validate the starter issue. She stated they will be able to expedite the resolution process at a national level once the dealership confirms the diagnosis. Today, on February 21, 2024, capitol Hyundai in san jose, CA, associate by the name of ali lee, informed me that the starter was not the culprit; rather, it was identified as a "faulty" new battery installed six months ago. This revelation is disconcerting, especially considering that the car, parked for six days, should not have been able to start if the issue was solely related to the battery, as confirmed by the dealership. This report aims to document the sequence of events for future reference and to address potential safety concerns associated with the recalled starter, which poses a fire risk. Moreover, I would like to bring to your attention some pre-existing issues that might be connected to the recall, including light flickering while driving, headlights turning completely off automatically at night on the freeway & challenges w the car windows when using the designated buttons.

Recall from 2014 under Hyundai Genesis bh over brake corrosion and leading to hecu /electrical / wheel stability/electrical wire problems /fire also immobilizer and safety I now have no dash or steering wheel controls believe car was broken into shows signs of elapsed time/fob and controls inside no longer work two fuses inside driver side panel spark even when car is not on took to springfield Hyundai they not only lied and stated my car isn’t under any recall but they stated online they did a safety inspection which is not true I just replaced rear brakes and after barely driving 1,000 miles the brakes are making a wearing metal noise and sound like they are bad again I even stated I had information for the immobilizer since Hyundai didn’t install on any of their vehicles until 2022 now I enter my VIN and it comes up under the 2 door coupe not the sedan (bh) also found archived article from car and driver about the fbi suing Hyundai in 2014 over the exact model and make 2012 Hyundai Genesis bh over brake corrosion accidents and hecu issues causing accidents and other electrical issues now I am scared worried and I am being ignored an neglected driving a car that clearly is not safe and putting my life in danger if I have a tampered VIN from theft of no immobilizer this is Hyundai negligence and now my VIN isn’t showing correctly for my make and model I need help I have videos of fuses sparking and printed recall info for my make and model under NHTSA safety investigations I have never received one recall notice from Hyundai in the mail since I am the owner since 2019 I also show dmv records of many registration transactions for years I owned vehicle I only get one registration per year some shows 2 & 3 prior owner of vehicle worked for a car dealership in woodbury even vehicle history reports aren’t correct.

After assuring that the trunk was secured, the trunk open indicator light failed to turn off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure but informed the contact that the failure was repaired. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. Later, the contact stated that, upon attempting to start the vehicle, it failed to start as expected. Roadside assistance arrived and informed the contact that an electrical component had drained the battery, requiring a replacement battery. The battery was replaced, but the vehicle was not taken back to the dealer for a diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 65,000.

Hyundai is saying I can’t park or drive without concern of a fire hazard. Hyundai was called and they said a remedy would be available by the end of the month. That was said in November and now it is the middle of January. I need a vehicle for everyday life and this is getting costly for me. Usually a remedy is to be resolved within a reasonable time, two weeks on average, contractually speaking. Please resolve this problem immediately.

Car is shutting off when stopped. When it shuts off, the engine light comes on, the battery lights, the eps, the master warning light, the fca system light, and the epb. When the engine shuts off, I still have power to my car and the radio still playing but nothing to my engine. I brought my car to 2 different mechanic and brought it to the dealership today and they are saying there’s nothing wrong with my car. My car have been shutting off all this month and that’s not normal,.

Headlights will intermittently flicker off for several seconds when using turn signal. I understand this is already noted in TSB 20-be-009h.

I was on the freeway and my car suddenly shut off completely. . Engine, dashboard, lights everything. . It was off for maybe 2 seconds and then the car powered itself back up the car did not stop abruptly, so I was thankful for that. I didn’t panic or pull the wheel. I just continue straight and then thankfully it cut back on and then I got off the freeway as I was driving down the street not going more than 1015 miles my car cut off on me again it did the same exact thing everything just went off and then it cut back on mid drive and I have a four year-old toddler and I have been scared out of my life. Something is clearly wrong I need help please , no one can tell me what the problem is.

In cold weather, instrument panel can take over 10 minutes to boot up and function.

Submitted complaint of unsafe fumes /gas smells emitting from engine and into cabin of car to site on 10/23/2023 for my VIN the complaint I see is under tires this should be under engine I said nothing about tires it's a 2012 Hyundai Genesis bh 4 door sedan battery wasn't holding charge engine idles high and low poor gas mileage and sluggish brake light always on even after repair.

The abs light stays on no matter what ive tried resetting it and everything and it wont work, the electrical system in the car sometimes doesnt work properly this regarding the headlights and interior buttons, the transmission on the car since I have bought it has a really dangerous kick back on it in the transmission jolts the car really hard to the point its dangerous to drive on dry and rainy days because the tires will lose traction and I will have to get the traction back under control due to the kick back in this transmsion problem it has caused the engine to give out also.

This car, along with millions of others, are under a recall since sept 2023. The car could catch on fire even when parked. They have not come up with a fix. I feel that this is an extreme danger to not only myself and my property, but to others living around me. They are taking way too long for a fix to be determined and the work to be done.

I was driving the car, and without warning, it just said engine overheating and shut off. If I had pulled out in front of someone, I could easily have gotten killed. There was no prior indication of anything wrong. Just riding down the road and it just shut off for no reason and would not restart. Towed it to the dealership and they told me that I need a new electronic control module and quoted a price of $4,000. That is freaking outrageous for something that should never have gone wrong in this car. I researched online and there are multiple Hyundai Genesis sedan owners have had a problem with the electronic control module going out for no reason. This is something Hyundai should be held accountable for as it is a major safety hazard. For your car to just shut off for no reason while driving it, is extremely dangerous and life-threatening.

Car goes completely dead and can happen at any time, will be dangerous if it happens while driving seems like there's a short on the leads on positive battery connection. Connection is tight and battery is good. The the leads that go to positive terminal seems to have a short, when it goes dead will have to wiggle slightly and power comes back. Like I said terminals are tight and battery is in good working condition. So it's the leads at before positive terminal.

My car was robbed. It was robbed because the door lock was broken into, and the ignition was started with a usb cord (the "kia boys" tiktok challenge). When my car was recovered the engine was also damaged, necessitating deep engine repairs that I could not afford. My insurance hasn't agreed to cover it despite comprehensive coverage.

I have a 2015 Genesis sedan 3. 8 my cars instrument cluster glitches! sometime when driving or only starting the car my cluster lights up all of the warning lights. Also it shows incorrect speed. I have found that Hyundai did recall some of of the 2015 models with this problem but mine doesn’t qualify for the recall! some of the safety features of the car like the bsd system stopped working cause of this.
