Engine Shut Off Without Warning Problems of Hyundai Genesis

Car shut off full power off while on a residential road and I went across the road up a slanted small hill and ran over tree and yard debris.

My car shut off/the engine lost power, while sitting in traffic. I felt a slight rough idle, then realized all my dash lights were on, and the engine was not running. I placed the car in park, and pushed the engine start button. Car started back up, but every time I stopped I had to place the car in park and keep my foot slightly on the gas to keep it from idling roughly and shutting off again. I had to do this for a half hour until I reached my destination. After setting for 4 hours the car started fine and I had not further issues. But my fear is that it will happen again while in traffic or possibly while driving, which could cause an accident.

Tl the contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Genesis. While driving 25 mph, the contact approached a traffic light and the vehicle shut off. All the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. After waiting a few minutes, the contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive home. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000.

Car engine shuts off/stops running, without warning, while driving. Has happened 3 times in the past 12 months. At slower speed, in town, coming to a stop or slowing for a turn. Car starts back up right away, and won't stop again for a long time. Also can't make it stop on purpose.

Engine just shuts off while driving. It becomes difficult to steer and control. I was barely able to move to the side of the street and the car behind me almost ran into me because of my loss of power. There are no warning lights and the radio, etc. All stayed on during this event. I had to put the car in park and restart the engine.

Car seems to have electrical issues it just shuts off etc just found out I purchased a lemon odometer rollback.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Genesis. The contact stated that while driving about 45 mph, the engine shut down without warning. The vehicle was pulled to the side and restarted. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the peacock Hyundai hilton head dealer (843-208-1234, hardeeville, south carolina 29927) where it was diagnosed that the charcoal filter was overloaded and shut down the engine. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and recommended that the charcoal filter be replaced. The filter was replaced, but the contact did not feel that the vehicle was safe to drive. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000. Fe.

Engine shutdown and lost steering and brake control when making a right turn. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Details: on both the times, when I was trying to make a right turn at a slow speed the engine shut down and I lost control of steering was well as brakes. I had to put the car in park, in the middle of the intersection and push button to start the car again. Luckily there was nothing in the way (car or a pedestrian), or else there would have been an accident. This could be an even dangerous issue if this happens when making a left turn or when on a freeway. Please issue a recall for this, and have Hyundai fix this problem.

This has been an ongoing issue, I know others have reported a similar problem. When coming to a stop in our 2012 Genesis 3. 8l the engine will shut off without any warning. This has happened more than a dozen times at this point. My wife took it to the dealer who said this issue couldn't be duplicated. The car has died in traffic and when going around a curve. Power steering is lost when this occurs making it a bit nerve wracking. This is an issue Hyundai needs to address before someone is injured or worse.

My car literally just shut off while I was driving. I tried to turn once and just shuts off. So I took it back to he dealership and they said it was the emc and it did drive good for a couple months. However, when I had to accelerate fast to get by a car and the rpm were up higher than I normally drive it , I went home and it sat for 20 mins top. I get back in and it just shuts off again! I called Hyundai near me and they gave me the run around. Told me I would have to pay for rental car. I said I uber warranty and this shouldn't be happening!! worst experience ever with this car and the dealerships. They seem to know about this problem and know there is no real cute. I don't expect this car to really ever be fixed as I lol be getting something different as soon as I can .

The car shut off suddenly and came to abrupt stop while in motion on the street driving in a straight line.

The car stalled and engine shut off while moving. I was driving on a surface street when the car shut off, all indicator lights were on, temp gauge was normal, fuel tank was more that 3/4 full. The car started up again and drove away normally.
