3 Headlights problem of the 2016 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 08/16/2020

While driving the other night, my headlights turned off on their own. The headlight setting was set to auto and they flickered twice before shutting all the way off. At this time I was on a dark road without streetlights. The only way to remedy immediately was to turn the headlight setting to on rather than auto. This also happened this morning as it was raining but I figured that was due to gloomy weather.

Second issues the left side back passenger door handle came apart the same way trying to open the door it just completely came off. I call my insurance company usaa file a claim took the vehicle to caliber collision hear in kyle, texas and they glued back on no pieces broke off inside the door. Now I have a problem with the right side headlight bulb that keeps going out while im driving. I took it to south point Hyundai July 6,, 2020 for this issue. According to the service report they identified the bulb needed to be replaced and replaced it. I told them the bulb is not the problem, they needed to find out whats causing it to go out. On July 7, 2020 bulb went out again retuned back to south point Hyundai all they did was opened the hood the service guy giggled something on the right side headlight and it came on, I told him thats is so unprofessional and should not have happened just to get my headlight to work. On September 7, 2020 bulb went out again call September 8, 2020 the service manager told me to bring the car in after I explained what happened for the second time after ive been charged for the service that did not fix the problem. Once I reached south point Hyundai the service manager john wayne drive my vehicle around the back drove back after 30 minutes and told me its going to cost me $130. Not including labor to fix the problem. I just left very upset.

11 Headlights problem of the 2016 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 03/19/2017

Headlights are set in 'auto' mode, but erratically/sporadically with no rhyme or reason, they will shut off, then turn on. One time I was able to record the event on my phone (available is requested). But another time they turned off then on (like I was flashing my lights) while driving. Another car was trying to enter traffic and thought I was flashing him to enter, resulting with me hard-braking to avoid hitting the entering car. This 'flashing' of lights has happened on more than one occasion, but I can't duplicate on demand (which is why the Hyundai dealer is stating they can't do anything about it. This is a driving safety issue. This has happened on numerous occasions, but I indicated the latest below.

12 Headlights problem of the 2016 Hyundai Genesis

While driving 70 mph on a highway at night all the interior lighting, dash, and headlights went completely out for three seconds then came back on. 13 Headlights problem of the 2015 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 01/09/2015

Headlights suddenly turn off. Intermittent defects I now refuse to drive this car at night. This defect happens while driving, in the highway or on a city street. The vehicle has been brought to the dealer 2x; will be brought again.

14 Headlights problem of the 2010 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 06/07/2012

We just recently purchased this car. The headlights are more like spot lights instead of flood. At night, the low beam bulbs direct a light down low, and there's a horizon above them, which is dark. It's a horizontal line ahead of you. When you start down a hill, towards the bottom, the dark area completely covers the road ahead. You cannot see anything in front and above you, like the road climbing in front of you. Also, that horizontal dark line moves up and down with the bumps in the road, and almost brings on motion sickness. If we get in a hilly area, that could become possible. The dealer won't adjust the lights higher, because they're in spec, now. This is dangerous, and should be addressed.

15 Headlights problem of the 2010 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 08/10/2010

On the headlights the up and down arrows embossed into the plastic housing are backwards. This has caused me numerous tries at adjustment and has internally put the projector assembly out of alignment. This is the way the car came from the factory. Both sides are reversed.

16 Headlights problem of the 2009 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 01/10/2009

Subject: Hyundai Genesis 2009 4. 6 litre. New car 2000 miles driven. When one comes to a stop with the engine running and transmission in "drive" and then when the stop/start button is pressed, the engine stops but when the gear shift lever is pushed forward from "drive" towards "park" it will only travel as far as "neutral". This is a hazard as anyone not familiar with driving the car might assume the car is in "park" or leave it in "drive" or ""neutral", walk away and permit the car to free wheel roll. In a conventional car without a keyless feature, it is impossible to get the keys out of the ignition until the gear shift is placed in "park", a feature in place for many years and universally accepted. When one turns off the engine as described above there is a momentary warning message displayed on the dash which says, "move into park" but as described above one cannot shift the lever past "neutral" unless the stop/start button is pressed and the motor restarts. In other words, one cannot put the car into "park" without the leaving the engine running. It seems to me that there should be a voice warning which says, "restart engine and place in "park". After having a bit of a scare parking on the steep grade I have learned the hard way but I remain concerned about our friends and auto service personnel who will drive the car and who are not familiar with this car. Updated 03/09/10 updated 04/05/10 the consumer stated it was determined the problem with tpms was the an issue from the headlight voltage regulator assemblies creating a radio frequency and canceling or confusing the signal present fromt the left front tire sensor to the computer system for the tpms. Updated 04/29/10.
